Chapter 5 - Chapter – 5 – The Lightwork Continues

When all the clamour calmed down 2 more groups had finished their testing which was not worth mentioning. All of them had ordinary results highest was a guy who got water and earth mana and earth ki with an average capacity of 6. By this time almost 2/3rd of the total had completed testing.

When the next group was called it contained Muni, Oli and Jani and another kid who I didn't know. They started to sit on their respective platforms and did as instructed by the priests. After they drank the portion and closed their eyes it only took under 30 seconds for the light works to start.

Muni was the first to hit the light. He lit red in front of him and yellow to his left indicating red ki and lightning mana. The red and yellow combination was a bit of an eye-pleasing combination of light work. Following him, Jani also lit up. She was shining under the orange and red combination of fire and magma mana. Oli was next she had brown in front of her and a brown and blue spiral to her left, showing earth ki and water and earth mana. The last guy, he had got ice & dark mana.

'A very cold combination, hahahaha' he smiled at his thought.

All of them moved to test their capacity. The last guy went first. His score was 6 in both. Then Muni went in and he got a score of 7 & 8, Jani came next with a 9 & 7 and finally, Oli got a 6 & 8. That was a great score for everyone.

I went up with the next batch. I went fast and followed the group. I sat down and drowned the portion as soon as the priest gave me the portion.

"Close your eyes and concentrate your focus on your breathing. Let your soul reach your mind sea and find what you are." He instructed me.

I did as he told me. I started breathing long breathe in and out. I slowly felt moving into the depths of my soul I never felt earlier. I fell into a land where there were lots of colours spinning all around me. They were like thousands of fireflies going all around you. I could see every colour I know elements have. These fireflies looked like fairies of light when viewed closer. But they were very small compared to a normal fairy. They were circling around me. Not every coloured light came near me. There were black, green, blue, and brown lights. They were flying around me all the while giggling like little children. They were amused by me and my looks if I have to say. They were flying around and I was turning my head like a maniac which caused them to giggle more.

[ Crowd POV]

People were seeing black, green, blue and brown lights. They were not lighting up a single force or two, he lit up all three of the forces. Out of the three aatma was shining like the sun among stars. Everybody was a bit disappointed that aatma was his primary. But the lighting up of all three forces and such blinding light made them look at Veda in awe. Some of them frowning over the fact that his primary was aatma. If it was mana, with his Fauna mana he could help the kingdom with agricultural production problems. Now the chances were very low as he had to find a soul beast of fauna element, and those very prideful as well as exotic to acquire.

[ Veda's POV]

He opened his eyes slowly. From all the colours around him, he could see which was his primary. He stood up along with the other 3. All of them walked toward the capacity tester. Moopan smiled at him and the other 3. The 1st guy to go forward was Sal, Salvatore Kaja, a stuck-up dude. He was the son of a Landed Gentry, a noble of the Kingdom. Nobles of the Empire were Duke, Marquess, Earl, Viscount, Baron and Landed Gentry. His father was an officer of the kingdom and has been handling the matters of Mattha and neighbouring 4 villages. His result was 10 & 9.

'This...' I thought so did everyone else. Even Sal's father, Lord Berthe Kaja didn't expect this. No one in their wildest dreams thought that this idiot would get such a high-capacity test result. It was silent for a couple of seconds before the entire crowd erupted in shouts and cheers. This was higher than Dave's, why because a noble's son had tested a high result. He had been studying in this village for some time now. Nobles are also a group of people who are gifted a lot of money and wealth if they are pleased. If 2 and 2 are put together. The village, as well as the village school, could get more resources because of their 'capability'. It was normally very hard to prove such capability only way was to butter up to a noble. This was killing two birds with one stone. Everyone forgot that there were still many kids waiting to be tested for a few moments. Everyone was ready to jump around and leave if not for the headmaster's reminder to Moopan that there are still candidates remaining. Moopan laughed lightly and ordered the tests to continue.

The next guy was Mags Fisher. He was one of the brightest and top student in our school. He was the best in every theory subject and good in alchemy also. If there were no Dave, Jani or Oli then he would the top in that also. His physical subjects were a bit lacking compared to his theory but he always scored enough to keep up his good image. So, basically, any non-combat profession would suit him. He went up to the podium and placed his hands on the globe. The started to shine as the results were displayed on the screen. It was 10 & 8

'Oh my freaking god, why…... just why.... Why did these monsters take their tests with me? Am I the one that came in so that they would not get black eyes' Veda aggrieved inwardly.

The calmed teachers, Moopan and the crowd had another episode of ecstasy. The audience didn't expect to be stunned 3 times today. It took a while to calm things down.

The next guy had gained light affinity. He was not very known among everyone. He was that silent kid in school. He was a relation of both the headmaster and the noble. That's all Veda knew about him and that was enough. He went forward and placed his hands on the sphere. The started normally but then changed to green suddenly.

'Blessing of Prithvi' Veda just cursed his bad luck. He had to curse the guy who placed him with these prodigies.

His number turned out to be another uproar as it turned out to be 9 & 10. This just isn't fair for anyone ordinary. This guy can basically save anyone from the brink of death if they have lived in him. He could reach the pinnacle of medicine.

Everyone started to hurry things. They just have to finish all the testing and do some things to get chummy with the geniuses. Veda was urged to the podium. He went over and placed his hands over the machinery. He suddenly felt a numbness in his stomach and head. He felt a jolt as something sent through his hands and tried to reach the limits of his mind. The pain almost caused him to scream but before his brain could react the pain was gone.

'this' everyone just frowned. His results have stunned and confused the entire crowd.

His score was 9 in both. Everyone was having doubts about whether the machine was broken or not. Like giving a fantastic result once great, twice believable, thrice okay but 4 times in a row doubtful. This caused murmurs to occur around the crowd. Moopan and Headmaster looked a each other. They asked the crowd to be silent and called a kid from the crowd. He had a below-average result. His result was 4 & 5. The machine again showed the result. They called 2 more random kids and their results were also the same. So, the doubts had relieved.

I came down and sat in my seat between Oli and Muni. My face had a big fat smile plastered on it. Oli also had a similar smile on her face. While Muni was smirking.

I was still in a daze 'Me…... an aatma user... that too with 4 elemental affinity and average capacity of 9... this is the stuff of dreams'

Oli leaned towards me and whispered in my ear "Hey, did you only see 4 colours?"

"what" I snapped out of a daze but didn't hear what Oli had asked.

"I asked you if you only saw 4 colours"

"Yes, I think so, why?" I replied.

"Nothing, I thought I saw one more, maybe it was just an illusion, no matter still, 4 elemental affinities. You have the highest number of elemental affinity and force affinity & a high rating. What do you want to do hotshot?"

"What hotshot, my primary is aatma, not mana. You saw how they reacted when my primary turned out to be aatma and not mana. They were more interested in others." I said.

"Who cares what these people think, all you have to care about is what you think of yourself and since I care about you also, what I think of you"

"And what I think" Muni added.

"You are putting your head on a blade, you know that" Oli warned Muni.

He retreated his head faster than a star tortoise. Jani was chuckling on the side at this exchange.

Before long rest of the kids were tested and Moopan and Headmaster did their closing speech. Then the noble, Lord Kaja, gave his speech

"Today was a glorious day in my life not only as a father but also as a noble. Not 1 but 5 geniuses in a single ceremony is a day of glory for our village. Today we tested 142 children. Of which 62 recorded multiple affinities. Around 40 recorded 7 capacity which all signifies our school and village have produced a generation of youngsters who could create a very large influence in the future of our kingdom as well as the empire. I hope all of you live up to your potential. This test only shows your possible potential, everyone. Possible, that word is very important because all 142 of you could do something that could benefit the kingdoms and the empire. You are the one who decides what you could do. If there are limitations placed around you find a way to produce great results even with the limitation so that, all those who placed those limitations can see that it does not limit your capability. I believe that all of you will work towards making those potentials into a reality. Good luck"

There was a huge round of cheers. And the people on the stage as well as in the audience started to disperse. Everyone was going towards their family members or relatives who came here to see their ceremony. I, Oli, Muni & Jani also stood up and started moving to the back. Their parents and relatives were waiting for them in the back. We walked towards them. They separated from me for a bit as they walked faster to their families. I felt a tinge of water forming in my eyes as I saw this scene. I quickly wiped it and breathed out a long breath and put on a smile on my face and walked toward Oli's family.
