Chapter 19 - Chapter Nineteen

ALPHA NORMAN'S POV

We returned back without my mother after so much searching. Every corner of the castle was so quiet and cold after the battle with the rogues.

I made sure to visit every family that got injured during the battle.

At midnight, I went to my normal place on the mountain hill. Just like always I ran deep into the woods.

The moon light shone brightly on the trees but gave shades under it making the woods a bit cold and dark. I jumped over logs on my way as my wolf slowly took over. I found my way to the west and ran deep inside.

I ran feeling the wind that blew on my fur. I could hear the sound of the leaves as the wind blew on them making it move simultaneously.

The cool weather of the west side hit my flesh as I continued running. I never realized how deep I have gone until I perceived a familiar scent.

I stopped abruptly making my legs brush from a long distance before I finally stopped. Though the scent was familiar, it was rare to our pack as they never get close to werewolves.

"That was a familiar scent."

I muttered in my breath as I tried to remember where I had detected that same scent. I slowly looked around with my wolf sight but I couldn't see anything.

As I turned around to leave I saw a witch standing before me. I staggered back and bumped into another witch behind me. They have surrounded me within a short period of time.

I quickly changed back to my human form. They shivered a bit but stood their ground.

"Listen, I don't want to kill any of you. So if you could let me, I would just leave peacefully."

I said quietly looking at them as I tried to step out from their mist.

'Are they an outcast of witches or something?'

I said as they kept on moving closer to me. It seems they didn't understand what I was saying.

Just one swipe I brought down two of them. They looked so shocked. I used my wolf speed and in a blink of an eye they were all found lying helplessly on the dried leaves on the ground.

I continued running without looking back until I reached the hill where I used to let out my pain and loneliness. I stood there in my human form looking around the mountain. I couldn't let out a howl any more.

"Just who should I howl for?"

I said angrily to myself as I brushed my hair back with my fingers out of frustration.

"Goddess of the moon, why would you take everything away from me? You took the only thing that keeps me going as you denied me my mate."

I said as my eyes flunk from red to blue which I tried to control back to normal.

I left there after spending much time in loneliness and headed back to the castle with the anger rising in me. I asked one of the assassins to be brought to me. He stood before me, his legs shivering in fear.

Without saying a word to any one I tilted my head as I looked at my fingers that had grown longer.

'Steve, I need to collect his memory to find out where they took my mother to.'

I said to him through a mind link.

'But my king...'

Before Steve could say anything else I quickly dug my right fingers into the assassin's back of neck.

No one dares to ask me questions. They all stared at me without uttering a word.

In his memory, I was in a forest that looked deserted with not even a fly around. I looked around but couldn't find anything.

My eyes made contact with a huge stone behind me with fresh leaves covering it. I walked closer and noticed it was a door.

"A door....."

I muttered lowly in my breath. I opened the door but was surprised to see many rogues inside the cave. There were many of them living inside the cave.

I shivered as I tried to collect the wolf's memory. I could feel the man's breath decreasing as I continued.

I quickly removed my fingers from the man's neck. He collapsed and fell on the ground with a loud tod.

'Take him back to the dungeon and prepare the strong werewolves, we are going to go get my mother.'

I said to Steve through a mind link as I quickly left to prepare for our mission.

I was sure my pack members would use it as their daily meal if I didn't resolve this soon. I couldn't wait for morning.

I quickly dashed out of the castle and ran into the woods. I used the assassin's memory which I took from him to recall where the hidden cave was.

I quickly mind linked Steve and the others as I gave them the direction. Before they arrived I had already gotten inside the cave.

I met a single wolf standing at the door inside the cave that looked like a guard.

He looked at me but didn't say anything. I thought maybe he didn't recognize me but I was mistaken. In a blink of an eye I was surrendered by many rogues glaring at me as they snarled lowly.

"I don't need a seer to tell you anything before you understand what was about to happen to you."

They barely allowed me to finish my words before I heard their loud laughter.

"Do you think you could defeat us in our own pack?"

One of the rogues said as they stopped laughing.

'Go find my mother while I distract them.'

I mind linked Steve and the others as I felt their presence inside the cave. They quickly sneaked inside to look for my mother.

One of them came against me, on reaching I snarled at him and he quickly slacked back.

I think something is fishy here. I just noticed some of them are humans and holding something like...

"Shit, that's a silver dagger.....".

I said slowly in my breath as I saw one of them with a dagger that looked like a silver. I knew there were humans among them as our kind cannot touch silver.

I tried to avoid the dagger as they fought me. Unlike the werewolves they are strong, the humans are very weak. In one fling they would find themselves sulking by the side.

I never wanted to hurt humans but with the silver dagger with them I was left with no option.

I fling the humans away while I face the rogues. Suddenly I felt I dagger grazed my shoulder, I turned around and saw a stupid human shivering in fear. Before I could move I felt another behind my back.

I have to keep up until I see Steve with my mother. I quickly grabbed one of the rogues and twisted his arms behind him and pushed him against another one running towards me. I brushed the one coming behind me, as he was about to fall, I kicked him quite hard sending him against the wall of the cave.

I saw Steve coming out with my mother who was unconscious, I then fastened my speed to keep them more distracted as they took her out of the cave.

'My king, she's with the others. I came to help.'

Steve said through a mind link as I asked for my mother when I saw him come back inside the cave.

'Steve, go back and make sure my mother is safe.'

I said to Steve as he tried to help me fight the rogues.

'But my king you're....'

'It's an order Steve.'

I said with my Alpha tone and he quickly left to help the others.

I growl loudly making them shiver in fear some of the humans started moving back leaving the rogues who stood their ground.

Now that the humans are no longer amongst them I was able to defeat them as I completely changed into my wolf form.

Have I mentioned that I could transform and still be in my human form?

My eyes turned pure red like blood, my fingernails grew longer, my face and all my body grew extra ordinary hair and longer ears. I became huge more than my normal size.

I ran towards the castle but I couldn't keep up for a long time as the wolfsbane was gradually penetrating into my blood. My eyes feel blurry and suddenly my legs were failing me as I couldn't keep my stand.

I knew there was wolfsbane in the dagger but there was something else in it which I couldn't figure out.

I was able to go a little far before the darkness finally engulfed me. Although wolfsbane could only affect me for a short time, I had a feeling there was something else in that dagger.

I could hear a loud noise from behind and I knew they were after me. I kept trying to move further but suddenly fell to the ground facing the sky which was covered by leaves from the trees.

I could hear a footstep coming toward me as I tried to keep my consciousness around me. Suddenly a face appeared with a hood covering her head.

"She appears everywhere."

I said with my breath as I finally welcomed the darkness that engulfed me.
