Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Playboy

"CEO?" I hadn't realized I'd blurted it out loud, so I quickly covered my mouth and gave him a peace sign, which irritated him even more. I'm even more offended now. I straightened my skirt and greeted him professionally. "Sorry, Sir. I simply didn't anticipate that CEO to be a guy, because I was personally invited here by an old woman who definitely misled me by identifying herself as the CEO." I almost let out a loud sigh after talking without stuttering.

"She was. You're probably referring to my Mom; may I see your card, and why did she invite you?" I presented him, and he merely nodded softly while listening to my explanation. I'm in the middle of a sentence, and I'm not sure what made me stop and gaze at him directly. I can't be mistaken since I recall him in great detail, from head to toe. Those wicked lips that claimed almost all the holes I had, and those deep eyes and pointy nose that kept crawling in my body that night. He's too tall, and the shape of his body made me want to hang my arm — "Fucking foolishness," his deep voice startled me.

'Oh my goodness, is he referring to me?'

"Sir?"

"Let's go on to the interview; just because my Mom asked you here doesn't imply you'll be readily accepted." Okay, I'm guilty of that, but he doesn't have to point it out to me. I can't believe he's this conceited. "Intro," even though I'm perplexed, I decided to introduce myself. He's examining my papers, yet he's still asking me the same questions. "You don't have a permanent address, so where are you living?"

I blink my eyes in confusion. I don't think it's still a part of the interview. "Pardon? I guess it's off topic." He is taken aback by my statements, but quickly returns to his bland expression.

"I just wanted to know, since part of the contract states that we can send urgent paperwork to your home if it is urgently needed."

Oh, assuming.

Even though I was slightly embarrassed, I responded with a smile. "I'm currently living at MV apartment with a friend."

"Hmm, you're rich, then; is it a guy?"

"Huh?"

"Is your friend a boy or a girl?"

I was going to ask him again when I realized I would embarrass myself again. "A guy, Sir," his eyes darken, and his grasp tightens on my résumé, which tore it, and I simply stare at him with my eyes and mouth wide open. Oh my gosh, he instantly remembered me, and he's furious because I stole his clothing. I'm screwed. "You're mistaken about what you're thinking right now, mister; I didn't know you and didn't also expe—"

"Mister? You addressed your future boss, the CEO, as mister? Why did Mom fucking invite you here?" He slammed his fist down on the table, and I stood and stepped away from him. "Listen, Miss. I don't see any reason for me to hire you, even if you're good at school. This isn't a fucking trial-and-error job, and we require degree holders. I lost interest in interviewing you just by seeing your ignorance outside, but still given you a shot. Now, you may leave."

He didn't give me a time to respond, and all I felt was someone's clasp on my hand, which brought me back to reality. "Hey," I move my arms to release it, but it is stronger than I am, "what are you doing?" "Release me now. I know my way out."

They seem so to be a warrior who is always ready to attack and has only one Lord to obey; okay, that sounds exaggerated, but they literally drag me out of the office and shove me inside the elevator. Huh, guess what? That guy is just looking at me with a smirk. My middle finger freely moves to stand out among the other fingers, and I smile triumphantly when his expression winces.

After ten minutes, I'm still waiting for a cab in front of this trash company; indeed, this is a trash company. When the receptionist asks me a question, she has a judgmental expression on her face. Everyone is staring at me from head to toe, and their CEO is quite arrogant. Meeting Mrs. Vulgari will not affect my opinion of their business. My gaze returned to the road when a matte black ferrari screeched to a halt in front of me. I swing my eyes back and forth, as if I'm obstructing a path, despite the fact that I'm really on the company's road side. I don't know how many Gods I cursed after seeing his face again as the car's windshield slowly opened. Oh, please. Do I truly have no right to think clearly about what's going on in my life right now?

"Hop in."

'Wait up! What?'

"Huh?" That's my word of the day, I guess. He's making me dumb.

He scratched his head and snarled. And he's the one who has the audacity to get irritated? "You know, Miss Martin," I was about to ask him why he knew my name, but it was probably because of my résumé. Yeah, I'm a dumbass. "This is the least I could do to lighten my mother's heart when I told her you weren't hired; don't be obstinate, just come in."

"No," I said emphatically. And his point here is that he simply does not want to feel guilty. I wasn't expecting to get hired quickly or to have my capabilities questioned, but fuck him, he didn't even ask any of my strengths or shortcomings that I memorized till the morning. "I doubt I'll see your mother again, so don't bother yourself." I take a step back and move to the other side of the road, but he simply follows me.

"I didn't realize it would be so difficult to owe something I have no idea about," he whispered. I still heard that. "Just don't make me feel bad. I'm respecting my Mom, so if you could, I could leave you in the closest lane." He jerked up his head and opened the door for me. I despise the way he manipulates the situation. He's definitely making me feel bad about whatever he did.

"You know what? I'm done with your bullshits. I don't know what pushed you to talk bad about me and make me feel guilty about something I didn't do. I'm already done with the interview, right? It was obvious that I'm not qualified, which is expected since I'm still a student, but I still tried my luck because your mother offered me this personally. She owes me something, that's what she said. And now you're making me feel awful because I didn't hop in? That is utter stupidity. I'm not fond of cussing, but I can't help myself." He was about to respond when I stopped him off. "Hep, stop! I'm not done yet. Don't worry, I'm not going to apply here again. As if you're the only one he has—"

"Do we have any problems—"

"Shut up, guard." I'm losing my composure because of this CEO who is too full of himself. "I still have an opportunity with another company when I graduated. You don't need to make an excuse to your mother; just don't bother me."

"Done?"

I facepalm after hearing his response to my long speech; ugh, now I'm hating the man I used to adore." I don't have all the time in the world, especially with those people staring at us." My gaze wanders around just to find a group of girls conversing and giggling.

'Geez, did they hear what I said to their boss?'

My legs moved effortlessly, and I shoved myself inside his car, then slammed the door forcefully, causing him to growl in irritation. He didn't say anything and just walked down to check on his car. He's overreacting.

"After being obnoxious, you now want to damage my car? The chutzpah of the poor."

My entire body began to heat up. "HOW DA—"

"Boo?"

I was interrupted by a flirtatious voice. A girl in a very short dress with a lot of makeups on her face appeared out of nowhere. I grimace when I stare at her breast, which has been forcibly squeezed. They've been smothered. And what, boo? I return my glance to the arrogant man with the puzzled expression.

"What?"

"Oh, you don't remember me?"

That's my line earlier.

His expression lit up, as if he remembered something. He has a cocky grin on his face. "Of course I remember you. Angela, right?"

"It's Annelica, boo." I want to laugh at her reaction when he expected him to remember her. Oh, it explains why he doesn't remember me. Unfortunately, after that night, I became one of his girls. "By the way, are you busy right now? My apartment is near, so maybe we could get some meal and you know," she purposefully paused her words, but I understood what she meant.

Gross.

"Sure," he says, causing my eyes to widen. How about me? Perhaps he remembers that I'm still here because he looks back at me. "Move down, Miss. Just catch a cab till the lane," he said bluntly.

Things happened so quickly that I merely watched my jaw drop to the ground while staring at his car with that chipmunk chick drifted away.

He's not just conceited, but also a playboy.
