Chapter 13 - Chapter 13. Thanks, Mr. Rendra

"What is it ?" said a man who sits in front of him.

"This you know, sir. I lost my wallet," answered Novan, innocently.

"Hmm. How come? fell or missed somewhere?"

"I forgot, sir. As I recall, I brought my wallet from home," answered Novan.

"Waaahhh...." the man responded.

"Even though all the money I brought was in my wallet, sir," Novan regretted.

"Let's just say this. I really can't change the contents of your wallet. But for the matter of paying for public transportation, you don't have to worry. You just pay your fare," he said.

"Wow. Are you serious, sir?" asked Novan, as if he couldn't believe he was getting help.

"Yes. Next time, you have to be more careful and careful in storing things," said the man.

"Yes, sir. Thank you for helping me," said Novan.

"You're welcome. Where did you get off?"

"In front of Tanjung Karang Station, sir," answered Novan.

"Well... the same if that's the case. Are you going home or to whom?"

"Going home, sir," said Novan. A cheerful hue shone on his face.

"Ooo. My house is near there..hehe,"

An exciting conversation ensued between the two.

The man who was speaking to Novan was Rendra Narotama, an Islamic teacher at Elementary School Al-Kautsar Lampung, which is located on Soekarno Hatta street, this city.

"What's your name and where do you go to school?"

"I'm Novan. Class 6 at Elementary School 2 Rawa Laut, sir," said Novan.

"That elementary school which is known as the Exemplary Elementary School, right?"

"That's right, Mr Rendra," answered Novan, no longer nervous.

"In a moment, you're taking the Final School Exam and entering junior high school. Have you thought about which middle school you don't want to go to yet?" asked Mr Rendra, seeking information from Novan.

"Yes, sir. I want to go to Al-Kautsar Middle School. I'm not interested in going to a public junior high school," answered Novan, as it was.

"Hmm. May I know the reason why you are not interested in attending a public junior high school?"

"I'm not interested, sir. From the 4th grade of elementary school, I want to continue to Al-Kautsar Middle School because the school is new, the achievements are cool, and there are also many religious activities. I like the Islamic boarding school during Ramadan, sir," Novan admitted.

"You know a lot about Al-Kautsar Middle School,"

"Yes, sir. I like to see the registration brochure,"

"Oh, I see. Al-Kautsar Elementary, Middle and High School are under the same foundation. If you are interested, you know the middle school teachers even though you teach elementary school. You can contact them later when new student registration opens next year, ' suggested Mr Rendra, paving the way for Novan's wish.

"Okay, Mr Rendra. I'm really happy if I get to know the teachers. Especially if I can study there,"

"Cheer up, yes. We can chat again at your father's house. If you have time," said Mr Rendra.

"Okay, sir. God willing," said Novan.

Not long after that, the public transportation (or angkot) they took drew closer to the Tanjung Karang Railway Station. They have to get ready to go down.

"Please stop, sir," said Novan to the angkot driver.

After the angkot stopped, Novan and Mr Rendra got off. Mr Rendra gave IDR 3000 to the driver, and paid the fare and Novan's fare.

"2 people, sir," said Mr Rendra.

"Just right, sir. Thank you," said the angkot driver.

"You're welcome, sir," responded Mr Rendra.

The angkot then left Mr Rendra and Novan. Novan was relieved that Mr Rendra had helped him.

In this city, the fare for the Tanjung Karang-Garuntang city transportation is set at IDR 1500 per person, valid for long distances and short distances. The rate for students wearing school uniforms is cheaper, which is only IDR 1000.

Novan and Mr Rendra still stood for a moment, looking for confirmation whether the direction to their house was the same.

"Where is your house?" asked Mr Rendra.

"On Dipo street, sir. It's close to here. If you walk on foot, it's only 5 minutes to my house. Where is your house?"

"Same. My house is also on Dipo street. What is your father's name?"

"Indra, sir," answered Novan, simply.

"Mr Indra is the head of the Neighborhood Association, isn't he?"

"Yes, he is. Mr Rendra. Do you know my father?"

"Yes, I know him. So you are the son of the head of the neighbourhood association, aren't you? It turns out that we are in the same neighbourhood," said Rendra, not expecting it.

"Hehehehe. The world is small, sir," said Novan.

"That's right. Well then, let's walk together," said Mr Rendra.

"Yes, sir. Come on," responded Novan.

The meeting between Novan and Mr Rendra was not planned. Starting from the desire of a Rendra who felt compassion to see Novan lose his wallet, so Rendra decided to be generous in helping Novan's troubles by paying for the public transportation. It was something the two of them didn't expect.

While walking, Mr Rendra and Novan chatted again. Because they already knew each other, the atmosphere of the conversation became very fluid.

"By the way, where have you been, Novan? How come you can take to the Angkot," said Rendra.

"I just came back from my friend's house, sir. His house is in Garuntang Permai," answered Novan.

Not long after that, Novan and Mr Rendra have been reached Novan's house. In front of his house, Novan said goodbye to Mr Rendra.

"See you, Mr Rendra,"

"See you too, Novan,"

Seeing his son standing in front of the house, Mr Indra opened the door and greeted his son.

"You are forgetful man. Fortunately, you can go home safely even though you don't have your wallet," said Indra, Novan's father.

"I'm sorry, dad?"
