Chapter 44 - Rune Proficiency Assessment - 2

Both his parents cleared the room once Aavesh began reading the book, they did not want him to get a single bit Distracted by any form of influence during this test. The Book also began to record the time when Aavesh started reading the first chapter.

There were 10 chapters in total.

The whole Book was about understanding the Base Universal Rune Script and the base alphabet rune forms and how to inscribe them.

The Base Universal Rune Script was the most basic Rune language that a Rune Master had to get started with - it was an entry-level language that formed the foundation for understanding how runes worked - Rune masters could later transition to different higher Languages that were geared to different complexities.

The Base Rune Script used Nordic Runes formed using Ancient Germanic Characters.

As Aavesh began to read the book, his focus on different runic characters began to increase as he understood them, step by step. Each Character was explained in depth along with the different ways they might react with other Characters.

Normally, a good candidate would attempt very hard to memorize as much as possible and comprehend the meaning while attempting tests Not while reading the book, Standard Geniuses don't do that

For some reason, Aavesh began to imagine these characters more vividly in his mind - Like they were glowing a slightly warm tint of yellow and solid in nature while forming around him. He felt his mind get sucked into this dream-like state as he read the book further and further .

He began to see a parallel world around him with the glowing yellow rune characters intersecting and forming different possible combinations - forming minute intertwining threads and these threads were so intricately formed that they represented the very foundational principles of the Base Rune Script.

It represented his understanding of how the language worked. It was like learning a new language like a rookie. When the Rookie finally understands the key components of the language he begins to understand the rules and how they work.

In the case of a Rune Script the effect was even more profound despite the book not fully representing the full knowledge of the Base Rune Script, it was enough for a beginner to understand it, but Aavesh bypassed the mindset of a beginner and became a Seeker of Knowledge at an alarming Pace.

It was ethereal. Like a Painter painting a moving living piece of art with more and more base colors he received, the canvas became more vibrant and closer to touch reality itself. That was what Aavesh was feeling as he kept on reading the book for 20 minutes straight without flinching, as his focus on the imaginary world also heightened with more and more knowledge feeding into his mind.

The threads formed by the runes began to intertwine to form a rudimentary string filled with a profound knowledge - it was almost as if once Aavesh managed to finish this string, he would be able to truly use it in reality.

Even Aavesh did not know how he would use this beautiful intricate string but his instincts told him that this string was highly important to him and would definitely be extremely useful. The Pages began to flip by faster as his feverishly scanned all useful sets of information from the Book and the knowledge would produce new combinations that further promoted the growth of the Intricate String.

He could feel it growing and coming closer and closer to being completed - Just as he reached the book to turn the page.

*SNAP

The Book had been closed, it had been fully completed by Aavesh and the consequence of not having more knowledge sent a shock to Aavesh's state of mind - It snapped him awake and The Glowing String dissipated slowly into minor Yellow runes that disappeared into minor dust like particles and finally became negligible enough to be seen.

'So Close...'

Aavesh felt regret in his heart on the missed opportunity, he did not know what it was but he felt it would have been immensely useful to him. He then turned to look at the book in a depressed manner. 'If only you had more information Damn!'

The Book shook as mechanical Nanobots displayed the Time Left from the Reading Duration- 7 minutes and a small set of incomplete Runes were displayed in an Augmented Reality Environment before him.

A mechanical voice sounded out from the Book, "Please Solve the Rune Set to proceed further, You will be given 5 minutes alone to solve this plus the additional Reading Time Left from the Book, if you managed to finish the book - Please Begin!"

Time Left =11 minutes and 30 seconds.

Aavesh did not Panic or get frustrated at this as he looked at the 10 Incomplete Runes. Instead his mind was brimming with excitement on how to match the missing Parts of Runes - Within a minute Aavesh began to compare different Rune Strokes to fit each Missing character and use it in a way to connect all the missing characters of the Runes as well.

Aavesh immediately got to work and used his finger to fill in the missing Parts - Every stroke managed to match the Rune Perfectly and connective Strokes to join the missing parts of the Characters in the Runes together also helped to reduce the amount of complexity in deducing the possible matches.

In another 3 minutes, he was almost done and finished the Last stroke to complete the final Missing Character.

*Beep

A mechanical voice again sounded from the book, " You have completed the First Assessment Test, Please Proceed with the Rune Cube, Your Results will be shared with your Guardian first."

The Cube Automatically began to hum, as if receiving a signal from the Book. Aavesh took the Rune Cube and observed it first.

It was a standard 3*3 Cube, inscribed with the various characters but without any instructions on how to go about it.

Aavesh then studied the different Rune Characters as he pondered on how to even start solving this Rune Cube, At first Aavesh tried to find out if there were any characters repeated- But each part of the Cube had a Unique Character and there were no repetitions.

So how to go about it?

'A cube has 6 faces - Wait -6 -could it be that it represents something in the Base Rune Script? and each face has 9 Rune Characters - Assuming that these 9 characters are being connected in a face - So Combination of 9 Runes must signify an Answer to the face which might also be connected in a more Intricate way.'

It was then, his mind suddenly geared toward the knowledge he adsorbed just before.
