Chapter 32 - Persevere Till Ya Faint

For 3 months Aavesh did not speak or sleep at all, he would just eat the food his father prepared for him at midnight and his father would spray some water to clean his body. Aavesh would then return back to meditating on Blade Cliff.

At first Antrix was really afraid to see his son not sleep at all and called the Grandmaster Rayna to check if there was any problems.

Rayna did check Aavesh's mind pond and his brain condition for a day before reluctantly saying that Aavesh was - actually fine. She noticed that during the Day time, the runes would release a by product like energy that would lightly stimulate the blood flow and kept the organs pretty calm from straining themselves.

Even the Brain did not go mental due to the other energy released.

At night the spirit energy would be absorbed along with moonlight and interacted with the Mind Pond in a gentle manner. It kept Aavesh's consciousness fresh and let him bypass sleep.

However she did say to keep a close watch incase Aavesh feels he like he's going mental. Sleep was an important aspect after all - not having sleep could lead to serious issues.

For now Aavesh was fine, but the moment the treatment stops, all the fatigue would hit him like a roller coaster and they had to be prepared beforehand! Traven had decided to move in as well to rotate shifts with Antrix to keep an eye on Aavesh, and intervene if something goes wrong.

But for now he continued his treatment.

Progress everyday was sometimes sluggish and at times very slow, but Aavesh held on. He slowly got used to the pain and irritation. Aavesh was used to hiding in a single place for months, he had experienced several wars and battles - He was already used to it.

Pain and Solitude were old friends - Not talking for months or once even a year - he had done it before, He didn't put up any complaints about his hardships, the lessons from his past life had already taught him enough.

Eon already knew about his whole past life memories - He had long deduced it and hence never gave Aavesh advice on how to persevere. The Boy was a grandmaster in that aspect - He may a be little unstable and expressive in emotions due to the whole situation - But he was a good seed.

Complaining was just useful to vent out stress. Instead, dealing with the problem was always far more important. Rule no.1 of the battlefield - those who complain, die the fastest. Face the Hardships head-on.

Aavesh was once stuck in a base with almost everyone dead and stayed at the place for more than 3 years before he managed to leave on a Recall Ship - As for why he survived? He had been scouting a cave filled with demonic leshens and nearly died killing them all.

When he came back to the base, his squad mates - commanding officers - all were dead, Everyone was headless. It was one of the many traumatizing events he had been in. Aavesh had become depressed back then and wanted to kill himself with how hopeless things were.

The Energy Gun was always ready.

But he would always see his family and their mental images would talk him out of it and not let him give up. It was this that kept him going through all the shit he had been through.

In the beginning, Aavesh had some troubling thoughts in the midst of his treatment.

Although Aavesh was always focused on his treatment, he still felt guilty when he heard about the mass memorial service for the fallen and the massacred innocent from his dad who would talk about current affairs when they ate food.

This war - was it his fault? Would the people that died in the invasion still be alive if he had never gotten his memories back?

One might call it irksome to foolishly think about the past - But he still felt guilt - he was not emotionless - he was a human after all. Could he change the fate of those people? No. They were forever separated from their families and lives. Even if he did end up saving his family- would he have to break other families as the price?

In this world, it was necessary to be a ruthless cunt - He had experienced it firsthand in his past life -

But...

sigh*

Eon spoke to Aavesh in his mind - sensing the ever-increasing guilt in his eyes.

" You did not make the wrong choice Aavesh - All those who died in that invasion had their souls rightfully judged in Duat. No Demon could ever claim them. Think about it this way - Almost everyone on this Planet died in the previously supposed timeline "

" You gave them an opportunity to change fate as well - Yes do not think you were the only one who changed fate - You may have started the first move, but others too did their part in - they changed their fate as well "

"Life does not end after death - Death is just the beginning towards a new life - They now have an opportunity to go where they want to really go according to their nature - I believe even the Goddess of fate would respect that"

Aavesh did not retort as he pondered on Eon's words for a while, but he still gritted his teeth and sent a thought to Eon in shaky determination,

"I... Guess, But I still want to do something for the disaffected later - something I can do for them and their families"

"That is not a bad goal to set for the future - One must always repay their debts"

Both became silent after that and continued their own tasks.

Eon monitored his progress and kept updating the status bar as time progressed - The first-week Aavesh managed to Rack up to 3% Improvement in the Progress bar. The second week it shot upto 12%,

the third week it rose to 22%,

the fourth week - 32%

the fifth week - 41.5%

the sixth week - 50%

the seventh week - 59%

the eight week - 68%

the ninth week - 77.5%

the tenth week - 85.5 %

the eleventh week - 95.5%

the final twelfth week - 99%

It became extremely sluggish in the last few weeks but he pushed through until the very last day of his 3 month period. His Mother and Grandmaster Rayna would come with some devices to scan his body and blood.

Shockingly and Nicely, the treatment was improving Aavesh's Telomere length, bit by bit. It was like a miracle to witness such an incredible feat.

They did not disturb the brat but he had really opened their eyes after they heard Antrix explain that the brat had not even spoken or complained once! He had unordinary grit and perseverance to keep at it without opening his mouth.

Antrix was incredibly proud - To have a son who can control his temperament with pure willpower and pass-through this test, It meant that this brat could definitely ace Pilot and Mech warrior exams! To be a decent pilot and a Mech warrior, one needed a sound mind, a little bit of talent and mostly perseverance.

If his son had perseverance and that stubborn 'I won't give up' attitude, half the training for Mecha and Piloting would be easily accomplished - As for talent and resources, There were several ways to make up for it!

He could highlight this later to Aavesh, he thought. 'So what if this brat can't enter those top grade Forces! He could still make an honorable living and get enough respect for himself in those fields'

'Now According to Kriti and Grandmaster Rayna, this brat was extremely close to fully repairing this Telomeres - Once that happens, I should start some early form of Training exercises for Aavesh. I can't let him simply be - His potential would go to Waste otherwise!'

Antrix had made up his mind to start training Aavesh early.

However Aavesh had different ideas for now - as the percentage chart creeped towards hundred little by little. At the same time, An equinox was taking place - meaning both sun and moon would be visible.

It was an opportunity to heal using all 3 forces together, spirit energy , sunlight and moonlight.

Aavesh grabbed the opportunity immediately - This time he could feel that emptiness in his body slowly fade away, step by step.

*POP

Like a bottleneck finally broken.

The Runes shined brightly one last time before dissolving into Aavesh's body. At the same time Aavesh watched the progress bar jump finally to 100%.

Aavesh suddenly felt an unnatural strength gushing across his body - Not only were his telomeres restored - Aavesh now had some basic talent of Rank D+ Cultivators. He had basically received an upgrade in his Genetics which were F tier but now he had D+ Genetics.

How fricking cool was that!

"Congratulations Aavesh, You are now an ordinary mortal now and have a full lifespan"

Eon congratulated him as well. But before Aavesh could move or turn - He felt immense fatigue all over his body and fainted.

"Oh Crap"
