Chapter 67 - Khione.

Nikita's expression became serious as she stared at Alya who was seated before her. Seeing the seriousness on Nikita's face Alya cocked her head questioningly.

"You have lived at a time way prior to the Great War three hundred years ago, right?"

"Yes, I was born during the era of the gods."

Alya replied casually. Though she couldn't quite grasp the point of Nikita's sudden question, so she waited for her to continue.

"Th-then… do you know of a woman who goes by the name, Khione?"

Hearing the unexpected name Alya's emerald eyes widened momentarily. Why was she interested in that woman? Alya wondered, though she couldn't come up with an answer, so she asked with an expression which looked truly curious.

"Why are you so interested in that person?"

"…. If I recall, I remember reading some historical stories when I was young. It was stated that she was the one who taught my species how to manipulate the ice element."

Nikita explained her ruby eyes glinted faintly. She was always curious about the woman named "Khione" however, the books didn't dive deep into who she was as a person so, now that she had the chance to learn more about that person, she was extremely happy. Her nine silver fox tails wagged violently expressing her happiness. Seeing that Alya heaved a deep sigh.

"Th-that woman also betrayed us along with the demon race."

Alya said her expression became bitter recalling that woman. Khione wasn't created by the god of creation like the spirits, goddess and humans. Instead, she came into existence by the new concept of "Ice" that existed in this world. Nevertheless, she was beautiful woman with a kind personality. Back then Alya was also good friends with her.

Despite not being created by the gods of creation. Due to her immense powers, she was bestowed with the title of "Goddess of Ice" by the god of creation. Even with her own position she was neutral with the development of this world not interfering with its residence. However, once the demon army had attacked after the god of creation had disappeared, she helped the demon army with their invasion.

Back then Alya didn't want to believe the reality, the friend she had trusted for so long turned her back on them. Even now she honestly despises that woman.

Alya tried to calm down the boiling rage aching at her heart as she put on a smile.

"Uhm, I think you should forget about that woman, after the war she disappeared, the only person who might know of what became of her is the goddess of fire, Aetna."

Alya explained.

"Hmm… the goddess of fire, I see if anyone could stop her then surely it's the incarnation of fire itself."

Nikita said nodding her head in understanding. However, her expression seemed a little complex as she pondered over the information that Khione was a traitor. For Nikita who had read many stories about her she found it difficult to believe. But since the one telling her was the spirit of wind "Alya" herself then it wasn't information she could easily dismiss.

"Sigh, I understand… I honestly admire her from all the stories I read but, if what you say is true then, she's also responsible for the many deaths of my clan during the war."

"Oh, So, you do care about you're race after all."

Alya raised an eyebrow as her mouth was curved upwards into a smile, though there was something mockingly about her smile.

"Sh-shut up! I don't care about those fools!"

Nikita exclaimed in denial.

"Fufufu…. It's adorable how you refuse to be honest with your feelings."

"Do you want me to freeze you!"

"Calm down, I was only joking."

Alya said sensing the change of atmosphere around Nikita. Nikita huff through her nose, as she narrowed her crimson eyes.

"I have one more question I'd like to ask, it's about Haruto."

Nikita said in a low tone.

"Yes?"

Alya tilted her head slightly while placing her finger at her lower lips.

"He said something about returning home, what exactly did he meant by that? Which kingdom does he belong to? And how does making me his companion help him?"

Nikita asked her consecutive questions while gazing at Alya who had calm expression on her face.

"Ah, I was going to inform you later on but, you're even sharper than I give you credit for."

Alya said placing her hands elegantly at her mouth while letting out an "Fufufu" laugh in amusement.

"Well, how should I explain this in a way for you to understand."

Alya said closing both her eyes in wonder. However, she soon opened both her eyes as she explained.

"Haruto is not a resident of this world, he came from a world completely different from the one we're in right now."

Alya explained eloquently, while attentively observing the reaction of Nikita who was seated before her. However, her reaction was-

"Ehh?! You're kidding me, right?"

Nikita let out a dumbfounded sound while raising her voice hysterically. Unable to comprehend the information she had just received. Someone jumping through worlds it was an unbelievable story that goes way beyond just common sense. Unless.

"Is that boy a… is he a hero?"

Nikita asked, indeed that is the only way to explain the situation. The Legendary heroes were being well known in every corner of the world, they were powerful beings who wheeled great powers, as well as the legendary weapons that was granted to them by the "Four elemental goddesses."

(I see… so he's a hero no wonder my instincts warned me of danger whenever he was close by)

Nikita thoughts as her beautiful facial features were twisted into a grim expression.

Alya observed that reaction while trying to wholeheartedly hold back the urge to laugh but-

"Bwahahaha."

She laughed anyway, seeing this Nikita raised her neatly refined round shaped eyebrows in confusion. Alya arch her back as she tried her best to stop laughing.

"Ahaha…. Sorry… but H-Haruto is not a hero, he is just a regular human from another world."

Alya explained using her finger to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes. However, Nikita became more confused when hearing this. He was just a regular human, how is that possible?

"What do you mean he is just a regular human? There's no way I would feel danger from an ordinary human."

Nikita said her tone filled with pressure.

"Hah, like I said before he is human but, my Haruto is special. Do you think I would ever be interested in a normal human?"

Alya finally calmed down from laughing so hard as she explained.

"Well… I guess you have a point, but-"

"Is there something on your mind?"

Alya asked tilting her head.

"N-no forget it."

She said.

(The aura of that boy does not fully feel human, I'm sure I could feel faint traces of divine power coming from him)

Nikita thought though she didn't voice her thoughts out loud.

The two continued their conversations a while longer.

***

On top of a balcony of a mansion in the Kingdom of Watanabe, a lone girl was sitting there drinking tea with two attendants standing behind her. The lone girl was the owner of light purple hair and her round shape eyeglasses made her look extremely cute the person was Princess Sofia.

"Sigh…"

Sofia let out a deep sigh as she stared down at the teacup placed on the table before her. News of the great heroes being summoned had spread throughout the entire kingdom. Though he hadn't made a public appearance as of yet as he had stayed inside the royal palace of the Watanabe Kingdom, it didn't seem like the king was going to allow anyone outside of the kingdom's monarchy to see the hero personally.

As Sofia who was an outsider was not allowed to see him herself. However, on the contrary there was good news in all this if a hero had been summoned here, then there is a chance that a hero had been summoned to her own kingdom as well the kingdom of "Albanian" she had actually received a letter from her father the other day.

The details of the letter explained that a hero had in-fact been summoned to their Kingdom as well.

"It must be the blessings of the goddess of water Aqua, with whom we worship but-"

While the news of the heroes reappearing in this world was a good thing, she couldn't shake the bad premonition she had been feeling recently. It wasn't that long news of the second princess 'Scarlett' being attacked by a demon had been announced, what if the hero summoning has something to do with that… she thought bringing her hand at her mouth.

"Sigh."

Sofia let out a loud audible sigh, she stood up and faced her two attendants standing by at the corner door.

"I'm ready to go back home, can you two make the necessary preparations for departure?"

Sofia asked.

"Yes, your highness,"

The two attendants lowered their heads, before promptly beginning their duties.
