"Okay," Anna said as she began look through what she had to work with, "so we have a few good choices here," Anna said. She took a drink from a water bottle she had gotten from the car and kept looking. They had been at this for half an hour and they were running out of time. They needed to pick something and hope that they wouldn't completely destroy the station. "Wait a minute...what about this," Anna played one of the songs she had chosen,"and I can stay by and see if I can direct it a little bit. You guys just get everything to the train. Does that sound like it could work"Anna asked almost doubting it herself, but still trying to stay hopeful. Everyone nodded, anything to get past this obstacle. "I'll go wake them up and get them ready. Ryder you think you could help me" Anna asked.
Ryder corked his bottle and said, "lead the way, I can't wait to see what else these two troublemakers can do" Anna just rolled her eyes, but lead him to the car.
-in the car-
"Okay, you two it's time to wake up," Anna spoke, shaking the both of them. Willow and Xavier slowly opened their eyes, but Willow closed hers again. She didn't want to wake up just yet, and she never liked being woken up. "Sorry guys, but we need you guys to help us get to the train, so we need you to listen to some of these so we can see what will work.
"You said this could hurt us"
"or someone else"
"in fact, you wouldn't even let the radio play last night,"
"We don't wanna not if we can't do this without hurting someone," it was always kind of eerie hearing them talk, as if they only have one thought between the two of them. Now both Anna and Ryder knew that this was just something happened when they were trying to get better or stay safe and that would go away in time, but it's still creepy to hear. They didn't sound like themselves, but something not of this world when they talked their voices almost gave a bit of an echo.
"Come on you two, they are looking for you guys so we want you guys to give them a bit of a show. We also have to get you guys into some clothes that are a bit different,"Ryder said holding up the phone. They took it and began to watch, they did glow a bit through it, but they were still worn out from the night before. "If just watching and listening to it caused them to glow I can't wait to see what will happen in the station. Here these should work best for him. I haven't gone looking for Willow yet," Ryder said, passing over some clothes.
"That's okay, I'll do it, Ryder. You just sit here with them and, make sure they don't go anywhere. Let's see if we can get something to wake them up a bit," Anna said as she walked off to one of the other cars.
Willow and Xavier had never really listened to opera music before, in fact, they were still thinking that they were in a dream of sorts. So to be woken up in the middle of nowhere with nothing to eat or drink and being told that they were going to have to go and do something that could destroy another building didn't do well for a good morning. Though while they were listening to the song they began to feel better and less tired. Neither one of them wanted to be awake yet, but they at least didn't feel like carving a hole into someone. Soon, Anna came back carrying some clothes, "Come on Willow, let's get you out of those. I think you wore them at the party, or did you change before you fell asleep," Anna was about to take Willow's shirt off, but then Xavier moved at the speed of light to stop her. "Oh, yeah, better do this in the bathroom. Do you think you can be away from each other for a few minutes? Don't worry Xavier I'll bring her right back," Anna said, and she pulled Willow off to the bathroom. Xavier looked like someone had taken away his favorite toy. He just stood there waiting for Willow to come back. Ryder just sat back to keep an eye on him, watching him look at Willow being pulled into the bathroom. More than anything he was making sure no one came up and bothered him than anything. His other half isn't here and until the magic fully settles on them you really can't separate them without something happening, he had seen it, but this was just the bathroom and he could feel Willow so there was no reason to worry about anything. Twenty minutes later, Anna and Willow came back with both wearing clean clothes, and hair brushed, and she had Pete slowly, following behind the two of them, in his hands, there was some sort of hot drink for everyone. "What do you think guys? Of course, I wouldn't wear it, but what do you think," Anna asked Ryder and Xavier as she passed out the drinks. "Oh, one last thing," Anna said as she pulled out something from her bag and put it in her hair, "there now you will look normal. The mark you guys have has been showing up every so often so wearing that it won't, at least for a little while. I don't know if I have one for Xavier but I think his sleeves will be fine. You just need to look normal for the moment you'll get fewer questions. Of course, while you are trying to go to where you belong and can't be held responsible for what you are going to do it would not be good if you started something," Anna explained. "Now if you did something just because you wanted to you guys would be in trouble, feel better about what you're about to do," Anna asked. She looked at them like she was now a school teacher and not someone who was going to be traveling on a long journey with them. They both shook their heads looking terrified, she could clearing see it and she knew the feeling all too well. "Guys me and Ryder are here to make sure that the building doesn't go boom, we are going to just make a big flash, like a flash bomb, and then get you guys on the train. But this takes a bit of concentration to do it, so we are going to just help you guys along," Anna was putting them both at ease.
"So when we get on the train"
"we won't have to do anything like this again,"
"right," Xavier and Willow said, still switching off.
"The car will keep you guys safe, so all you have to do is just sit back and enjoy the ride till we get to your stop. When we get on the train we will tell you more about it, but for now you just have to concentrate on making a really big thing of light," Ryder said trying to get them into the car. The were compliant and they were off passing cars and trucks of various sizes. Most of the time it took heavy negotiating to get ones cursed like this to do anything, maybe this time it will be different and he could actually sleep on the trip.
"Xav? What do you want to do on the train," Willow asked, quietly.
"I don't know Will, maybe get some sleep, watch t.v., eat some junk food," Xavier listed off stuff that he could do on the train. Though he knew that he wasn't going to be able to do many of them, Willow would see to that.
"You don't want to work on your school stuff? You were getting much better at some of it just before we left," Willow said looking up at him. She had snuggled back against him, and he was just holding her like if he let go something terrible might happen.
"Welll....I suppose we could do that too. I mean we have missed almost an entire year of school," he started to play with a piece of her hair, "how would it look for us if we came back and we were behind everybody," Xavier said laughing. He then he dropped her hair and ran his fingers up her back, this caused her to squeal as she squirmed in his arms. He had known she was ticklish up her back, but with her back so bruised Xavier didn't really want to do anything that could hurt her more. So just playing with her hair, was all he could do he loved it but he wanted to hold her so many times. Xavier was happy to see Willow smile again it was something else he had been missing her smile and laugh. Willow had always loved spending time with him just like this where it was just them and there was nothing that they had to do. Her fathers had taken a couple of pictures of them like this, and they said how watching the two of them was like watching some sappy love story. Not only that, it was completely calm like this which was something that they wished that they could keep for a little while. All of a sudden, Xavier started humming something, it had a tune to it, but for some reason, she answered back with part of it and they started to glow lightly.
"What the hell! Anna hurry, do something," Ryder yelled, moving as far as he could get away from them.
Anna was at a loss, she knew how this started but she didn't know how to stop it. Then all of a sudden after a small flash there was nothing. The only thing that had been left behind was a general feeling of calmness. "Oh for the love, they just wanted to be calm through this all. Ryder, nobody is going to die, in fact, I bet you will feel really great for a long time," Anna said. She shook her head like she couldn't believe it. "Just think about it, remember, lack of control, so they do what they need," Anna recalled, then looked at Willow and Xavier, "You guys feel better?" She asked looking at them like they had committed a crime. They nodded, still not knowing what they had done. "Alright then, in about two more exits we will be there and I guess relaxing a bit is a good thing," and she leaned back into her chair. Anna couldn't wait to get there and have them on the train. With them there she could finally get five seconds of peace. The only question she had was how did a pair like these came about and what to do with them now.
