In the Prince's Palace
Wedding planning could be heard, going on all day after the announcement of the Prince's engagement to Princess Mariah.
"What flowers should we use sire?"
"What do you think you would like for your cake?"
"Where should the destination be?"
All these things kept going on, as a young woman had shut herself in her room. 'How do I stop this? Why is everything going so wrong.'
She had then heard a knock on her door. "Marina, it's me Jacob. May I come in? I have something I would like to ask you."
Marina hearing the one she love's voice, couldn't help herself. She dried her tears and opened the door.
Upon seeing her red and swollen eyes Jacob said. "Are you feeling alright?" Placing his hand on her forehead.
Marina blushing from this made the Prince even more convinced that Marina was sick, said. "You should really get some rest. I want you to be able to go to my wedding. Mariah and I have discussed your dancing, and would really appreciate it if you could perform at our wedding."
Marina was shocked upon hearing this, as she thought that Mariah would be jealous of her spending so much time with the Prince. Now she believes that she was never even seen as competing to Mariah.
Jacob, "You don't have to perform at the wedding, but it would mean the world to me if you did. Would you please do it for me?"
Marina not able to say no to the one she loved, nodded her head yes.
Jacob, "Great. Mariah is going to be so excited to see you dance, as everyone in the castle has told her that you are the best dancer in the world."... "Now get your rest as the wedding will be held at the end of the week, and you will need to be at your best."
Marina meekly responded by nodding yes.
After Jacob left he thought, 'Marina really wasn't acting like herself, she most be really sick. I hope she gets better soon. I better tell Mariah that she agreed to dance at the wedding, but might not be able to. After all her health is more important than a mere performance.'
Marina sunk deep into depression more and more, as the day she dreaded the most just kept getting closer. Soon enough the day had arrived.
Many guests were getting on board the wedding vessel, at night. Due to Mariah wanting a romantic starlight wedding. Jacob was still a little nervous to have the wedding on a ship, but his soon to be wife, had always dreamed of having her wedding on a ship. Not wanting to disappoint, he decided to go through with it anyways.
The wedding went on as planned and everyone was having a great time. Except Marina, who was dreading giving a performance, for a wedding she didn't support. She had also been saddened by her impending death.
It had finally arrived, the time for Marina to perform a dance. The band had started the music, and although she didn't want to dance for the wedding. She truly wanted to dance one last time for the one she loved. So she came out and gave the most breathtaking dance anyone had ever seen.
After she was finished she thought, 'This will be my present to you my love, as I truly want you to be happy.' She then walked off stage.
That was the last act of the wedding party, and everyone retired to their rooms talking about everything that had happened during the wedding.
Jacob and Mariah had retired to their bedchamber for their wedding night activities.
Marina was the only one who stayed on deck, and when all had turned quiet. Marina's five sisters appeared next to the ship lifted up by water magic.
"Sister we know everything."
"The Sea Witch told our father what had happened."
"She told him about the potion, and the fact that the Prince was marrying someone else."
"We put together a new spell, one that can save your life."
Marina was overcome by joy hearing her sister's, whom she hadn't seen in months, good news.
"I took all of our long hair, to make this magical dagger."
"All you have to do, is stab it into the Prince's heart, before morning."
Marina hesitated.
"Take the dagger, if you don't kill him. Then you will be the one to die."
Her sister placed the dagger into Marina's hands, before all of them fell back into the sea.
Marina, 'What do I do?' I don't want to kill Jacob, but I will die if I don't.'
She sneakily entered Jacob and Mariah's bedchamber. There she found Jacob sleeping in Mariah's arms. She looked at the knife in her hands before gripping it with both hands and raising it about Jacob's chest.
Her hands began trembling, as she thought about all the times they had spent together. She lost all strength in her arms making her drop the dagger. Out of reflex, she caught the dagger. Causing her to cut her own hands. Blood began to drip, almost landing on the sleeping Prince.
Marina distraught, 'I just can't do it, I love him too much.'
She existed the bedchamber before standing on the deck, overlooking the sea. 'I'm sorry sisters, father and mother. Please don't blame Jacob for this, he didn't have any knowledge of this. This was my choices that led to this.'
She threw the dagger into the sea. Climbing on top of the railing, she began to cry. 'I don't want to die. Why did things have to end like this. We were supposed to have a happy family together.'
Standing atop the railing, she saw the sun rising for the last time. Turning around to get one last glance at her love's direction, she saw Jacob standing there, looking at her with dread in his eyes.
Jacob trembling from worry, "Marina what are you doing? Get down from there or you are going to get hurt."
Even though he ran after her. All he could do was witness her last moments, seeing her lips saying "I'm sorry." Before falling back into the water.
Jacob still not sure what was going on, shouted. "No!"
