Chapter 1 - How I Like Him

Hi everyone, I'm Karina. All my friends call me international playgirl. LAUGH OUT LOUD.

They say I have magic that can make anyone easily fall in love with me just by looking at my face. I don't think so, because I have a big problem with my 'magic'.

I fell in love at first sight with my classmate, his name is Ares. I love looking at him every day. When he entered my class, I shifted my chair to be closer to him.

That day, the first day we met. He walked alone after getting out of the car. His appearance is very different from my other friends. I think he is an angel who came from the stars as an answer to my wish all along.

I was the first to meet him in the front yard because that day I was punished by the teacher for coming late. I need to clean the front page alone until the appointed time.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the teacher's room is?" he asked in his deep voice.

I became a statue for a moment, he was so amazing. The best God creature I have ever seen. Time passed slowly, the wind around us made my face feel cool.

"Did you hear me?" he asked again.

"Ah yes of course. There is the teacher's room. You have to go straight then turn left and you will find the room with a nameplate." I couldn't take my eyes off him.

"Um, thank you." He walked away from me.

Good boy, I think. And since that day, I chose him as my crush, my ultimate crush.

But it turned out not as expected. Among the boys who want to be close to me, he avoids me at every opportunity.

My best friend, whose name is Ciara, said the guy didn't like me because I was showing too much of an attitude that made him uncomfortable. But, I'm just acting like what normal people do to their crush.

I asked him about his day, how he felt after class and asked for lunch in the cafeteria. That's normal, right?

I just don't know where my wrong attitude is that he hates.

I've been trying not to care about him, just wondering what his reaction would be to it. But nothing happened. He still doesn't care and keeps his distance from me.

Every now and then I glanced at him, but there was no response.

Oh my God, he managed to drive me even crazier after all the lessons I got at school.

Bruck!

"Can you stop looking at me like that!" a book was thrown on my desk and took me by surprise.

"What?" I gasped. "Am I staring at you? Since when?"

Ares was annoyed. He quickly moved his chair and turned his back on me.

I covered my face with both hands, not knowing what to do because I was so embarrassed. Honestly, I didn't mean to stare at him for long. It's just because I'm bored with the teacher's lesson so I'm looking for something that makes me feel comfortable in class.

Ciara patted my shoulder lightly. "Let's go to the cafeteria. Chocolate ice can relieve sleepiness," he whispered.

"He's very arrogant, isn't he? I don't like him," said Ciara. We are in the cafeteria now.

"I guess he's just in a bad mood. Math always manages to turn students into demons after lessons, right?" I said.

"Do you still like him?"

"Um," I nodded slowly.

We enjoyed our iced chocolate with chips.

"Don't want to try falling in love with another guy? He's just a new student, Kirana. I think your feelings for him are just... curiosity."

"Curiosity?" I looked at my friend's face. "No, Ciara. This is love, my true love. I know God sent him to save my life from loneliness."

"Then tell me why did you fall in love with him?" Ciara was ready to listen to my explanation.

"He's so handsome I think. Oh no! He's charming, I love everything about him. His deep voice, his hairstyle, his sexy brain."

"What's next?"

"Everything. I love it from the toes to the hair." Just imagining his face, I am very happy and feel the world is in my hands.

Ciara and I were still in the cafeteria when the recess bell rang loudly. The students stormed the canteen to order food.

I saw Ares walking alone, he seemed to be looking for a seat but everything was full. I waved and offered a place beside me but sadly, he chose to leave and cancelled lunch.

"See? He's ignoring you again. Whatever you do, he doesn't like it. I guess." said Ciara.

"Okay. I'll stop here!" I hit the table hard, causing several students to turn their heads at me in surprise.

"Stop what?"

"Stop this..." I handed the packet of chips to Ciara and smirked. I'll just stop eating. "I have to find Ares and let him have lunch in peace. Bye, Baby Ciara. See you in class."

I left Ciara alone. Carrying a box of banana flavoured milk, I went around the school looking for Ares.

In the garden, in a small place called Gazebo, I saw Ares sitting there reading a book with a bottle of mineral water beside him. He looks very serious.

There was no one around, the park was so quiet unlike usual. There are no boys with balls or the traditional Balogo game that is in vogue these days.

From where I was standing, I could watch Ares as a masterpiece. His short blonde hair with sunglasses and an oversized uniform covered his thin body.

Seeing him always alone in his activities made me feel bad. Since he's been here, I've never seen him go out with the boys to play football or maybe just go to the cafeteria.

I have a lot of questions about it, but I have to keep them in my head because I can't speak to him for more than three words.

A few minutes have passed, I've had enough standing here and I have to go over to him.

Unfortunately, just as I was about to move, he saw me and had an unfriendly expression.

We looked at each other for a few moments. When I stepped forward, he rushed out of the Gazebo and made the garden quieter.

I tightly gripped the box of banana flavored milk I was going to give Ares, but I chose to bring it back and would drink it when school was over.
