"That doesn't sound right…" A huff came from the child, who was sitting on his guardian's lap. He was solving math problems that he should turn in for the next week. He had lots of time, but this was only one of the many he had to finish. The child had missed so much school that he was advised to catch up if he didn't want to fail the grade.
"You don't believe my mental math? Okay, let's count with your fingers…" The guardian chuckled and counted with the child. In the end, the child still frowned before looking at the guardian.
With a huff, the child spoke, "How could you do that without writing things down? That's not even simply 60 + 80. I want to learn how to do it, too!"
