June didn't count on having someone depend on him like this. Even if he could feel that Ares was just trying to make use of him, he couldn't say anything that would deny the child. It's not like he had a reason to say no to Ares, anyway. Moreover, he wanted to take the child away from the abusive auntie as well. What was the merit of calling the child out?
That was why June only smiled at the child. He then patted Ares's head. "I'll be here as long as you need me around you, okay? You really don't have to be scared."
