Hero Summoning Altar, Lightrend Kingdom
"Saintess, the summoning of the hero has failed. What should we do now?" Buford grumbled as he cradled a frail-looking girl in his arms. His voice trembled with anxiety.
The man never imagined that a millennium-old ceremony performed by Saintesses chosen by the gods would fail.
Not only that, but the unsuccessful summoning earned the gods' wrath.
When the Saintess failed the summoning and sank onto the floor, a being encased in holy light emerged like a ghost before the man and the girl.
Buford was terrified, but he clutched the Saintess fiercely.
After a moment of silence, the being encased in holy light spoke.
{Saintess Izza Von Lightrend, you have failed your duties.}
The being's voice was slow and surreal.
But when the frail girl heard the being's voice, her face became as pale as a sheet of paper and she became soaked in sweat.
The man on the other hand, heard nothing.
He could only stare at the being encased in holy light.
Fear gripped his heart.
The being before him was an apostle sent by the gods.
'The ritual not only summoned earthquakes and floods to destroy our kingdom, the gods even sent an apostle down to mete out punishment upon us…It was only a hero summoning ritual too…'
Just then, Buford noticed that the Saintess had become incredibly pale.
A streak of blood could be seen in the corner of her mouth.
Buford became dumbstruck.
'The being of light is just standing there, yet the Saintess gained an injury? This is insanity! If an apostle is already this strong, just how strong are the gods?' Buford thought to himself, his mind and body shaking due to fear.
Without saying anything more, the apostle pointed his index finger at the Saintess before it turned around and disappeared into thin air.
Nothing fancy happened between the apostle of the gods and the two humans.
The apostle appeared, told the Saintess that she failed, and then left like a ghost.
"What a weird apostle." Buford thought to himself.
He felt the Saintess' body fall limp in his arms a breath later.
Buford looked down before revealing a horrified expression.
"Saintess!" The man yelled, his heart pounding with panic.
The Saintess he was holding had died.
Buford, the Lightrend Kingdom's knight captain, went insane shortly after.
Chaos Clan's Courtyard
A young man could be seen inching a pile of cow dung towards the mouth of a golden clothed man.
No matter how the golden clothed man struggled, the golden clothed man was unable to break free from the young man's spiritual pressure suppression.
"Open wide~" Blake smiled as he moved the pile of cow dung ever so slightly towards the titan called Prometheus.
And as the pile of cow dung was about to reach the edge of his lips, Prometheus unleashed his blazing fiery aura.
He wanted to burn that pile of cow dung before it could reach his mouth.
But to his dismay, Blake had already predicted that this would happen.
With a flick of his finger, the spiritual pressure around Prometheus increased by 3 fold.
The titan lost focus and grunted out in pain.
"Guh!"
Following that, the titan's fiery aura extinguished before it could burn the pile of cow dung.
"Don't try to act smart with me, titan. I've killed plenty of your kind back in my day, so I know all the tricks you titans have."
Blake revealed a satisfied expression as he stopped the pile of cow dung right in front of Prometheus' mouth.
"So anyways, do you want to tell me about this world I'm in?"
"And why should I do that?"
"For every fact about this unfamiliar world, I will reduce the amount of cow dung you have to eat."
"So I still have to eat cow dung?"
"Well, you did offend me with your words previously."
"I was only repeating what the gods wanted me to say. I mean, I'm just a lowly Tier 2 Deity. I can't help it if the 12 Tier 1 Deities want me to do their bidding for them."
"So, are you going to tell me or what?"
"I'll tell you if you release me from your spiritual pressure. Jeez, I don't understand how a mortal like you has such powerful spiritual energy in the first place."
After Blake lessened the pressure on the titan, Prometheus sat up before he started to explain the intricacies of the world Blake was summoned into.
"Now where do I start? For starters, this world is called Fropoiane, The Summer Plane. It's a world where gods and mortals co-exist together in harmony. But as time went on, the gods became bored so they started to shove their hands into the affairs of mortals."
"The gods played for a few centuries. Some descended into the mortal realm to fool around, while other gods played with the lives of countless mortals like they were chess pieces. I was one of the few bored gods who came down to the mortal realm to understand and enjoy life."
"But after a while, us gods started to become bored again. And that's where tragedy struck."
Prometheus paused for a moment before continuing on.
"The God of Justice, Keron, along with the God of Evil, Nero made an alliance to orchestrate the greatest tragedy to ever have happened in Fropoiane, the events that brought the mortals to eternal damnation…"
Just then, Blake held up his hand, signalling the titan to stop talking. "Let me guess, Keron and Nero created a hero whose whole personality is to hate on the gods."
Prometheus nodded, before continuing on.
"Correct. Keron blessed the womb of a random mortal woman, allowing the woman to give birth to an extraordinarily talented mortal child named Aylmer. But before the child grew up, Nero sent a bunch of tragedies to the said child."
"For example, his mom died after giving birth to him. The killer was a priest of a nearby church. His father was caught having an affair with the countess of his region. His father was then hanged to death by the same priest of the nearby church. Heck, even Aylmer's lover was not spared. If I remember correctly, his lover was impaled in her abdomen after the church was tipped off that Aylmer's lover was going to give birth to a demon child."
"In other words, Nero succeeded in making Aylmer hate the gods to its core. So with the sky and earth gods as his witnesses, Aylmer became a great hero who was called the God Slayer. His total kill count was two. Keron and Nero died miserably."
Upon mentioning the two gods' names, Prometheus revealed a satisfied smile. He never liked the two stuck up gods in the first place.
