What would you do if you were to be a god like being? A being who people follow every word without question? A being whose fate of millions is in its hand.
…
Somewhere…
"Kona! Come down here to the kitchen dear and help me a bit!" a woman shouted from below the floor.
"Mom! I'm busy! Go ask someone else!" A girl whose skin was white as a sheet and black circles around her eyes replied.
"Your big brother is busy preparing himself, dear! Come down here it will only take a bit!" the mother said.
"I'm busy too, you know!" she replied.
"Come down here or I'll unplug the internet," her mother threatened.
"Erk! fine!..." she meekly replied.
Kona went down the stairs and went towards the kitchen.
"I'm here" she announced.
"Oh good, now go and fry those eggs for me ok dear?" her mother requested.
"Uhum…" she grunted and nodded weakly.
She went and prepared the eggs to be fried while her mother washed her hands as she was mending dough before Kona arrived.
Kona's mother looked at Kona with eyes of concern as she inspected Kona's messy hair and black circles under Kona's eyes.
"Dear…" Kona's mother said with a voice full of concern.
"Hum? What is it mom?" Kona asked.
"Have you been staying up late at night again? I'm really concerned about your health, maybe I should cut the internet. I mean look at you dear you look like a ghost" Kona's mother said as she proceeded to wipe her hands to dry.
"No i- Im fine mom, don't be too over protective" Kona replied.
Kona's mother took her reply with full doubt that she was being over protective.
"Dear I-" she tried to say something but was cut off by Kona.
"Don't worry mom, I'm alright, really!" Kona said and she smiled at her.
Kona's mother stared at her for a bit then Kona reminded her mother.
"Mom, aren't you going to do something? You've been wiping your hands for almost a minute now"
"Oh right! I forgot, I'm sorry dear" Kona's mom said in embarrassment.
Kona was beginning to fry the eggs and her mother was exiting the kitchen to do some other chore but as she was about to leave she said.
"You know it's not your fault dear" Kona's mother said in a sad tone, "And we all miss him, but you shouldn't cope with what happened the way you're doing right now… it saddens not only me and your brother but all of our relatives are concerned about you too… go outside sometimes ok?" Kona's mother said.
Only the sizzling of oil with eggs being fried was present without it despairing silence would've filled the room.
Kona stood still for a bit with sadness in her eyes, after she finished frying the eggs in silence.
