"Hey! Move your gaddamned asses!" Nathan said with an audible voice to everyone of their group member.
They quickly ran up the mountain, constantly stealing glances behind to check on the beast's status. By the time they got to their group, the beast had already stabilized itself and stopped its descent. Seeing this, Marcel felt like lifting the group members that ran so slowly and throw them towards the top of the mountain.
They were half-way to the top when the beasts started their attack, but even after wasting time holding back the beast, the people they had left to run up the mountain still hadn't covered a considerable distance. 'This is just suicide!' Marcel said out of frustration in his mind. What frustrated him was the weakness of every other person apart from himself and his brother. At that moment, he could only thank their equipments.
"Nathan! A second time!" Marcel said to Nathan from across.
Nathan glanced a quick look at Marcel as he nodded, then he came to an abrupt stop as he twisted his body to face the incoming tiger.
He and Marcel launched forward to meet the tiger before it got to them, and apart from that they had a similar idea in mind. As they ran down the mountain side, both of them dove with a powerful dropkick towards the tiger and with a powerful impact sent it flying down farther than it did before.
This time, there was no point running up anymore as the same cycle would only play out again, so they dashed towards the tiger this time as they had decided to bring the fight to it this time.
Unlike before, they wanted to fight against the tiger this time instead of just holding it back. Nathan with his blade in his left hand pounced on the tiger heavy which the beast could only jump back to be able to dodge. Like a shadow, Marcel appeared from behind Nathan and rushed towards the beast-
Sheww
He swung his own blade with power and precision towards the tiger's left front leg with an outward swing. Though the teamwork and execution was perfect, Marcel's weapon wasn't sharp nor strong enough, and could only dig so deep into the beast's flesh. After the successful attack, he leaped backwards twice and reached where his brother was standing.
Though the attack was successful, the injury caused to the beast wasn't enough to impede its movement or even slow it down in any way. They had only succeeded in making the beast angry. Now, they ran the risk of making the beast bring out its skills, since angry and irritated beasts show their skills after something like this.
"Hey, attack immediately, before it activates any skills." Marcel said to Nathan before he dashed forward towards the tiger, Nathan followed behind.
Meanwhile, many of the groups that were at the bottom of the mountain had lost a lot of people, and those that got to face off against the second tiger could do little to nothing against its domination. The entire battle, if it could be called that was completely in favour of the monsters, and the humans were suffering heavily from their attacks. But, all hope was not lost.
As the cattle-like beasts that looked like a mix of a buffalo and a reindeer razed the land and ascended the mountains, they had actually managed to grab the attention of the second tiger. It seemed beasts and monsters weren't on the same side either, and the other beasts invading the tigers territory had angered it.
The tiger immediately forgot about the people before it and stepped a couple feet down the mountain before letting out a loud growl.
The cattle-like beasts didn't heed the warning nor did they hesitate for the slightest moment as they continued their match. Before long, the tiger was surrounded and only it had to face the herd of beasts that climbed the mountain.
All together, the cattle-like beasts were at least 30 in number, and all of them focused on that one tiger as it fought ferociously against them.
All this was happening while Nathan and Marcel were busy with their own battle which had gone nowhere as they weren't able to inflict any big or deep injury on the tiger and were having to defend themselves from the tiger's heavy attacks. Both of them could only ask themselves how much longer they would be able to keep up.
Despite the gear and equipments they had, they were starting to feel the strain on their body, while the tiger was showing no signs of tiredness or slowing down. It was like its stamina was limitless.
At the moment when the tiger was about to pounce forward after a brief stalemate where both sides just stared at the other while waiting for the perfect moment, a loud growl that carried pain in it rang through the mountain. It was the cry of the second tiger getting destroyed by the other beasts.
The tiger facing Nathan and Marcel immediately without much thought turned towards the other tiger and started hurdling down the mountain to it's position.
Seeing that the beast was foolish enough to show its back, Nathan was about to leap forward and attack, but Marcel dragged him back.
"Don't let your judgement be clouded. This is a good opportunity for us." Marcel said before turning to look at their own group, which unlike last time had made considerable progress.
The tiger that had rushed down to the other's side approached the other's location, and managed to break through the surrounding cattle like monster to reach the other tiger. Without stopping, it went straight to the other's side.
Like something was going to happen, the tigers touched their heads together, and started phasing into each other while loud cracking noises could be heard. It looked like their skin was crawling up on the other, as their bodies fused into one. When it was all over, what came from it was a complete beast of a monster.
"I guess that is the skill they posses, right?" Nathan said, as he looked at the beast, amazed.
"Yeah, also another reason why we should quickly get the fuck outta here. Move." Marcel said, as he sped up.
The tigers' new form stood at about 2 metres tall, and it's body was now even more massive and domineering than it was before.
One thing was for sure, the other beasts had just stepped into their grave yard.
