The atmosphere of the morning in downtown New York this time seemed so calm when a man with a handsome face, looking like he was created directly through the grace of a Greek god, was seen showing a happy face full of joy today, because today was the day he had been waiting for. This is where he will make Amanda, the woman he loves so much, the only queen in his heart. And to be honest, Mark has never felt this happy when he was about to do something. Anything related to Amanda managed to make Mark fly to Nirvana to enjoy all the joys that God gave him.
"I didn't think you would soon be married, Mark," said one of Mark's clients with a sweet smile.
Mark returned the smile with a slight chuckle. "Oh, you know my struggle to get that woman," Mark replied, nodding at his client.
Mark looked around and saw the wedding decorations were so magnificent, and Mark prepared everything for Amanda, so the whole world knew that after today, Amanda would officially be him, and only him.
Mark walked to one of the tables and then grabbed a glass of vodka that was served on the table. Mark can't wait to tie Amanda to be with him forever after today. And when the time for the wedding was running out, Mark also prepared himself, and he was ready to walk towards the altar of his wedding. The man with a handsome face stopped his steps right in front of the priest, and now was the time that all the guests had been waiting for. Where Amanda will come into the room and walk down the altar, then stop right by Mark's side. But in fact, it never happened after five minutes of waiting.
The priest, who felt astonished, looked at Mark. "Sir, where is the bride?" asked the priest, whispering his words to Mark.
Mark was silent. He pressed the device used in his right ear to contact one of the bodyguards who were guarding Amanda's room to get ready. "Where is my future wife?" Mark asked in his cold voice.
"Isn't Miss Amanda already heading to the ballroom, sir?" asked the bodyguard back.
Mark's heart began to uneasy. The man clasped his palms and formed a strong and big bogeyman. The man looked around before stopping his gaze right on the priest. "I will check my bride first," he said, nodding at the priest.
Mark turned around and pressed the device against his ear again. "Find Amanda! I don't want to hear from her until I get it!" hissed Mark as he walked through the ballroom door to get ready for Amanda's room.
During the trip, Mark kept thinking about the bad things that would happen if Amanda left, but the problem was how could Amanda be able to get out of his reach when he was sure that the security around the wedding hall was very tight and would not allow Amanda to leave the building area? "You, look around the building. I'm sure Amanda won't get out of here that easily."
The bodyguard just nodded upon hearing Mark's words, and he immediately carried out the orders that were sent by Mark. While the man continued his steps towards Amanda's room to get ready, sure enough, there were already many of his men who looked silent with sweat dripping down their faces, looking very worried in their eyes. "Where is my future wife?" Mark asked when he arrived at Amanda's door.
All of Mark's men were silent. They did not dare to look at Mark's sharp eyes, showing the impression of cruelty that was visible in his beads. "Answer!" Mark's jerk managed to make all of his men shiver in fear where he was standing.
"Y-we've looked for her in Sir, but Miss Amanda is not there. We also only knew when her left, accompanied by two bodyguards. We thought she was going to the ballroom to do a series of weddings, "explained one of his subordinates."
Mark growled furiously, his hands clenched into perfect fists, and his eyes couldn't stop emitting an aura of deep fear. "What were the characteristics of the bodyguard who was with Amanda last time?" Mark asked in a low tone, which, of course, intimidated all his men.
"He is tall and has fair skin. His face is handsome and we seem to have seen him, but we are not sure," replied the bodyguard.
"Brighton," Mark muttered, suddenly remembering the man named Brighton.
Mark's confidence skyrocketed, and he was sure Amanda had gone out with the damn Brighton, wasn't she?
Mark looked back at his men, and he was ready to unleash an unstoppable tantrum on all of them. Mark was busy removing ammunition from the emotions that seemed to have just accumulated when he realized that his future bride, the woman who would soon become his wife, had run away with his ex-girlfriend!
"B-but, sir, an hour..."
"Godammit! Don't talk too much or I'll throw your head right in that pot! " Hearing a jolt containing a threat from Mark, his men ran to fulfill what the master wanted.
Meanwhile, Mark, who still couldn't believe he was so easily deceived by the word love and Amanda's innocent face, once again uttered various hateful curses at Amanda and Bright, which managed to embarrass her day, a day that should have been happy for her. However, now it's the opposite, and Mark is threatened with embarrassment in front of all his important clients.
Mark chose to return to the ballroom, but he still received reports from his men, who reported that they did not find a single sign left indicating where Amanda and Bright had gone. and straighten it in one gulp.
Mark didn't care about his neck, which was burning from the alcohol he drank without a break, because Mark's day was more of a fire that seemed to be difficult to extinguish. Mark knew maybe he wouldn't vent his anger here because if he did it would ruin his reputation even more, and that would add to the embarrassment that would affect him.
"Sir," Mark said as he turned to face his assistant, who had just returned from the base.
"You?"
"I came when one of the subordinates reported the disappearance of Miss Amanda," said Arnold, Mark's assistant and assistant in the underground world.
"Tsk! I might have forgotten to implant the chip in Amanda's body. If I did that, I would know where she is now! hissed Mark could no longer contain the anger and rage in his chest.
"I understand, sir, but what should we do now? All the guests are waiting for your wedding. "
Mark looked around him, right. All the guests were waiting for his wedding to Amanda. Again and again, Mark was made to hold back his anger when he imagined that Amanda was now with Bright. God forbid!
" Sir?"
Handle all the guests here. I'll go upstairs and wait to hear from the others! Arnold nodded at Mark's command.
Mark immediately turned his body to leave the ballroom, but his footsteps stopped when one of his clients asked him to. "Luc? Hey, what's with your face? Do you look frustrated? "
Mark was silent. He didn't want to answer, but when he was about to walk away from his client, his client spoke again. "Where is your future wife, Mark?" he asked in a tone that honestly made Mark even more annoyed.
Don't tell me he ran away on his wedding day with you, Luc. If that happened, I can't imagine how embarrassed you would be, "said the client, making Mark unable to contain his emotions anymore. He immediately turned his body and looked at his client with sharp eyes.
"Watch your mouth!" Mark's jerk was full of threats to the client.
But instead of being afraid, the client just chuckled at Mark's jolt that had just sounded in his ear. He put the wine in his hands on the table and then put his hands together in front of his chest, still faithfully staring at Mark, who looked very frustrated in front of him. To be honest, Luc, seeing your condition like this only strengthens my assumption that you are indeed abandoned by your future wife," whispered his client right in Mark's ear.
Without a word, Mark growled, and so on a second after that.
Bugh!
