Chapter 1
In the Taisho Era deep into the Aokigahara forest there lived a family of coal burners. After the death of there father the three oldest brothers Ryota, Ryuu and Saburo had to make money for their family selling charcoal to the nearby town. One day they were held back by the police officers of the town, they were accused of theft although the boys had nothing to do with the crime the officers insisted on questioning them and five of the the other suspects they had gathered forcing them to spend the night at the police station.
In the early hours of the morning the brothers were cleared to leave, they collected all their valuables and with no delay they ran back home terrified of their mothers punishment. As they arrived however they were devastated at the sight of their mother and younger siblings brutally murdered by an unknown assailant. Ryota hastily searched for any signs of life, but there were no survivors. They did not know who the murderer was, but the scene was so gruesome that they all understood one thing. Whoever did this was not a human nor an animal of the forest but something that resembled a character from a old legend their mother once told them. Without a word being said they all believed the thing that massacred their family, the heartless beast that tore their siblings from limb to limb was Yokai The Demon King
