"But, Leo, this isn't right." I shook my head, rubbing at my temples. Nadine and Leo stood before me on the street, under the black sky and the streetlights. Nadine told us everything Harmon told her and Zeke, but I was not too fond of it. Not at all.
Leo had a skeptical look, and his muscular arms crossed. Nadine also crossed her arms, although I could probably connect my pinkie and thumb around her wrist. She pushed out his lower lip as if pouting, and while the silly face made me want to laugh, the news hit me hard, beating me on the chest.
"So, we can't meet Zeke," Leo said slowly, eyelids lowering at Nadine.
She nodded, frowning with disappointment. "Never ... Unless Harmon tells us otherwise. But he hurried away. I don't know where he went."
