Liza and I stared at each other before returning our gaze to the field outside.
The fire scorched the earth beside the road as we drove back to her home. Orange blaze shining in the dark of daytime. "Did someone commit arson or something?" Liza mumbled, taking her eyes off the road again to glare at the burning field.
"I wonder ... There hasn't been much lighting recently, but on the same hand there hasn't been too much rain. Maybe the grass dried up and someone threw a lit cigarette out of their car?"
I couldn't take my eyes off the flames. I was sweating profusely because of them, and the heat was beginning to make me feel nauseous. This was one long, flat field amidst a sea of fields. Hopefully, there weren't any UV lights nearby that could fall victim to the fire.
"Kev?"
