Chapter 1 - Chapter one

It wasn't me I swear. I have witnesses to prove it was not me. The police officer looked at me and then looked around the room to look into the eyes of everyone present. No one immediately said anything because they were all still in shock. Blood was all over my clothes and skin so it would seem like I was the aggressor but this time I was the victim. Ok ok ok what happen here, another more well-dressed officer walked in.

When he seen me covered in blood, he froze first and then asked what happened. The officer standing beside me said that he was in the process of getting statements from the witnesses when he walked in. The well-dressed officer was one of the city's best detectives and he was very dedicated to his career, arresting the guilty and saving the innocent. He was taught right and wrong as a child and always stayed on the right side of everything. He was admired as a very well-behaved child and adult. When he wanted something, he would work hard until he got it but never used dirty methods to achieve any goal.

When he was born his mother named him Truth Grier and his name is his motto. He hates liars and will go to the end to find the truth. Detective Grier walked up to the butchered body and stoop down to examine the crime scene. He saw the gash marks and noticed that it was not caused by a knife or any metal weapon. He looked up at me and looked puzzled. Without saying anything he stood up to try to see the body at a different angle. When he went to the other side, he realizes that the man on the floor was one of is one of his classmates from high school. In high school they were close and played sports together.

They were called the "Power Twin" because every sport they played together they always teamed up and handled whatever came at them. Tim Martin wasn't a rich person, so he fell in with a bad crowd and started using drugs in his senior year of high school. Until then they were like brothers and were always together. The families were close because of the boys and were continuously going on family trips as well as away games. When Tim's father lost his job due to injuries, he was about to lose the house and Truth used his savings as well as asked his father and grandfather for assistance. They were able to pay the house off and Tim's family never had to worry about a home again. Tim's father did not like it at first because he had no way of paying Truth's family back, but they assured him that he did not have to worry about it and try to get better.

He finally agreed when they promised to allow him to pay them back when he got better. Unfortunately, his injuries got infected, and he died from the infection two months later. After Tim's father died, he lost all motivation to do anything and that included going to school and sports. Truth and Tim planned to go to college together and build a business together, but things do not always go as planned. He dropped out and was in and out of prison for the last 16 years. Truth looked down with memories going around in his head and could not figure out what happened to find a former friend.
