Late at night, before drifting off to sleep, Yu observed his room. He thought that it may be useful one day, who knows. The bed was in the corner of the room with a bedside table beside it. On the white wall adjacent to the side of the bed, a clean window lay with a black frame. In front of him with its back to the wall stood a tall cupboard containing an assortment of various clothes and next to it was a large black desk with a few books and a treasure chest containing his life savings. A whopping 5000 ryo. On the corner of the wall relative to his bed, a menacing door with a steel pattern carved into it. A mirror was engraved on the wall next to the door.
He glanced outside his window to see a beautiful full moon shedding light onto the streets Konoha. Interrupting the peace that started spreading within him, a large bang slapped him out of his daze. More and more started appearing and he realised it was coming from his house door. He saw his mother rush over and whisper to him to hide under his bed. So that's what he did. He swiftly crawled under and paced his rushed breathing as well as calming his heart which made him feel like he ran a marathon.
He heard a final smash followed by a large bang which alerted him that the front wall was no longer in its rightful place. He gripped the floor, holding on for dear life as he heard the intruders starting to destroy objects and ransack the house. Then they arrived in his room. From his view under the bed, he could see they both wore full black and one of them wielded a sharp dagger. One had a fatter build (the one with the dagger) whilst the other had a slimmer physique. He noticed the slimmer intruder held a pair of scissors in his hand as the guy stealthily looked into the mirror. Panicked, Yu gently tugged the bed cloth to cover himself and, thankfully for him, the guy didn't notice a thing.
The gaze of the fatter guy's ocean eyes reflected his weapon and by ocean I mean polluted ocean; he started creeping to my prized treasure chest and he easily dismantled the hand-made lock I crafted leaving nothing to protect my 5000 ryo.
Some of him wanted to run out, stop him, but, no surprise, Yu valued his life more then a measly 5000 ryo. He decided to cut his losses and that he could make that much back any time. The fatter man slowly stepped towards his bed and began to crouch.
"Peekaboo!"
A boy with raven black eyes and blonde hair was given the fright of his life as his friend found him. They were currently in a vast park with only a few people here and there. He was hiding in the bushes, watching from a little gap to see the current situation. But his friend saw through that plan and went around the bush to execute a concise sneak attack involving the upmost perfection and precision.
"Hahaha, better luck next time" the friend laughed as he was chuffed to bits
"How did you find me!?" The boy exclaimed
"That level of genjutsu won't work on me!" The friend quoted
"What's a Genjutsu?!" The boy asked "oh! Is it from Naruto!"
"Duhhhhh! You should really start watching it" the friend sponsered "let me teach you a very cool Jutsu! The name of the jutsu is 'Chidori' and it looks like lightning bolts crashing out of your hand with sounds of chirping"
"Like Rasengan?" The boy questioned
"Yeah!" The friend smiled "so here are the hand sea—"
Yu heard a loud screech followed by a DING which resonating across the room.
"AH!" The fat man screamed "you stupid b*tch"
He raised the dagger and was about to stab Yu's mother but Yu leaped out from under the bed, gripping the fat mans legs and grappling him to the floor.
"Kotan!" The slim man yelled towards his accomplice and then to transferred his gaze to towards Yu "How dare you!"
The slim man ran towards Yu and prepared a large punch but Yu managed to jump out of the just in time to evade the attack.
Kotan recovered from the initial burst of pain and his face turned red; his grip on the dagger hardened as he pounced towards Yu. Out of the blue, Yu's mother, Nora, pushed Kotan to the side at a 45' angle using his own momentum against him. But because of this, she was forced to drop the frying pan which was her only weapon for self defence. Kotan's head hit the wall as he yelled to his accomplice "Jory, what are you doing? Get them!"
It was a beautiful day. Birds were singing. Flowers were blooming. Children were playing. 18 years ago, 3 kids laid down on the soft emerald grass, towered by the back of a tall black building with windows arranged in an orderly fashion. At the front, in gold painted words were 'Great Konoha Orphange' with an empty gap between the n and g in orphanage.
One of them raised their small arm and pointed at the clouds.
"Hey Jorey! Doesn't that cloud look like a Dragon!" One of the kids who had long coffee brown hair exclaimed
"It looks more like tiger, Akame!" A younger version of Jorey claimed
"You blind!? What tiger has a snout!" Akame said
"You blind?!" Jorey retaliated "Kotan, what do you think it looks like!"
"It looks like a squid" Kotan calmly said as he munched on a potato chip.
"WHAAAAAAT!" The 2 bellowed as Kotan laughed while chewing a chip.
The three innocent children stared into the bright blue morning sky. They wondered what was to come in the future. They hoped that one day, their futures would be as bright as sun. They hoped that one day, they wouldn't be shrouded with clouds and free the the sky. They hoped that they would live long prosperous lives in lavish mansions with bedrooms to themselves. They hoped that even after they died they wouldn't be another forgotten soul. And most of all, they hoped that they would be together forever.
A few years passed as the trios continued living on their lives. Kotan became a chef in his own small restaurant, Akame worked at a local cosmetics and hair dressing store with Jorey. All of them lived together in a humble cottage and although they weren't filthy rich as they dreamed, they were still smiling with joy.
It was a beautiful day. Birds were singing. Flowers were blooming. Children were playing. And in a certain store, the clock struck 4 on a Wednesday Afternoon. Without warning, a women screeched as her pupils disappeared and blood trickled out of her open mouth. She fell head first onto the floor as a man quickly ran up to her, telling his colleagues to help carry her to the nearest hospital.
Jorey and others brought Akame to a nearby hospital where they immediately admitted her after seeing her condition and soon she was quarantined. A nurse informed Jorey that the Hospital feared that Akame may have contracted an extremely rare disease known as the Chakra Virus. The virus stems from a failure in a persons chakra, leading it to start harming themselves at an alarming rate.
After a few weeks, the Doctors informed Jorey and Kotan that they were able to stabilise Akame's condition. However, they were unable to produce a cure which was stable enough. They informed them that she had contracted a disease called the Chakra Virus. It is extremely rare as it only happens when your Chakra malfunctions and goes out of control. It starts attacking the victim from the inside until they end up in Akame's condition.
The Doctor informed them that they couldn't just keep her alive for free and that they'd have to pay a substantial amount of money. They, obviously, were unable to produce that kind of money with the time they had. With Akame's life on the line, Kotan suggested to Jorey that they could steal. Jorey immediately rejected the idea, telling him yo think what Akame would feel if she realised that she was being kept alive through dirty money. But as the pay day closed in on them, they were left with no other choice.
Beginning their life as pickpockets, they would go to busy areas and stealthily snatch peoples wallets. Luckily, they rarely ever got caught and in the times that they did, they swiftly escaped the scene.
Then the Doomsday arrived. Hoping that their efforts had not gone to waste, they entered the Hospital and it turned out they had enough money! They were thrilled before realising that their efforts only paid for a month. A singular month.
Fairly quickly, they realised that it was impossible to continue pickpocketing people as that would raise suspicions amongst the townspeople instantly. After brainstorming for a bit, they decided that invading peoples houses would be the optimum strategy as they wouldn't need to rob as many times a month.
So, they got to their 'job'. They would burgle a few houses a month and use that money to pay the Hospital Akame's fees. Everyone in a while, lady luck would favour them, letting them hit a jackpot.
However, was not going to be that simple.
It was a beautiful day. Birds were singing. Flowers were blooming. Children were playing. A man in a scruffy black suit was supported by a large tree on the glistening grass. Yet his eyes were the complete opposite; like a broken ship sinking in a deep black sea.
"what are you doing? Get up"
"I.."
"Just one more. One more till we can rest this month. So.."
"Get Up!" Kotan yelled.
Upon hearing Kotan, Jory ran towards Nora and grasped her head, bringing it down to his knee. He proceed to continually punch her on the face while Kotan slowly got up. Yu ran towards Jory but he was pushed away. He kept running towards Jory, punching him to try make him let go of his mother, ignoring the desperate calls from said mother to run, but it was no use.
"Hey" a voice echoed in his head "Need a hand?"
"Who..who are you" Yu thought shakily
"I'm you. Remember.." the voice echoed "the blue light"
Upon realising the voices identity, Yu's eyes widened
"But that is not what's important right now" the voice echoed "I hope you didn't forget but yo- I mean Yu's mother is currently being beaten to a pulp"
"I can see that" Yu thought "but what could I do"
"True" the voice echoed mockingly "Honestly, your just like a sitting duck. Completely powerless, unable to do anything"
"Great confidence boost" Yu thought while holding back tears.
"But what if you could…" the echo continued "feel it"
"Feel what"
"Just do it"
"how?"
"Do it"
"But-"
"Do it"
"You dum-"
"Do it"
"At lea-"
"Do it"
"Fine"
Yu took a step back and a deep breath. He closed his eyes and saw an empty darkness. It's eeriness was only bested by the Void; he calmed his wild heart and, well, tried feeling it.
Soon enough, 2 bright lights formed next to each other; The only anomaly in the pure darkness.
He opened his eyes revealing a new pair of eyes. Although, pair wouldn't be the right word. It was more like a pair of unmatching socks, if you catch my drift.
One eye was blood red while the other was crystal blue. Both were surround by a black sclera making them look sort of like the darkness he just felt.
Instantly, his body lightened and everything began to move slowly. His thoughts cleared and his heart and breathing rate normalised. His mind returned as he plotted his next action. He moved his hands and thought of a single word.
Chidori
Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey
Suddenly, powerful strikes of lightning emerged on his hand as he rushed towards Jory with his hand extended.
Jory screamed as crimson blood flowed out of where the Chidori hit him. He quickly flopped his hands towards the wound and stumbled back. Almost as if he couldn't hear Jory's screams he slowly adjusted his body towards Kotan and readied himself.
"Again.. Chidori" Yu thought, his hands already beginning to move.
Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey
Once more, lightning emerged in his hand as he attacked Kotan as well, leaving him unconscious. Both their screams were hidden from Yu's ears but he did catch up on one word Jorey muttered.
"I'm sorry, Akame."
As soon as he took out his foes, his sclera and pupils returned to their original colourings. His vision began to blur as he began to lose his balance. Luckily, Nora caught him just in time as she limped to the kitchen while carrying Yu.
As soon as she arrived, Nora immediately reached into one of the cabinets which contained a jar of pills. Without the slightest bit of hesitation, she fed Yu one as well as herself. Instantaneously, all the wounds on their bodies began to heal. However, their Chakras began to decrease rapidly, but not to the point where it would be a concern.
"That should be enough for now" she muttered "but what was that?"
She walked towards the sink and poured some water for herself "some kind of Sharingan.. Don't tell me.."
Memories of one Jormund Kori flooded her mind. Tears swirled down her violet eyes as she sipped on water, wondering if water always tasted so sweet yet bitter.
