Synopsis
Sitting on a mountain of corpses, Sven observed the outcome of the battle with a cold gaze. The flames of war had spread for thousands of miles since he was separated from his master in the game Soul Ashes Exile, who was fighting on the front lines against the enemy empires. "My lord, the city has been completely occupied by our army. In total we have captured a thousand prisoners." Sven drew his sword and ordered the undead soldier under his command: "Lead the way, it is time for them to pay for their mistakes". In Sven's eyes, life was of no importance, if you were able to pick up a sword you must be prepared to defend yourself, only cowards hide behind walls watching the big picture.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Ding, you are about to be transferred to the world of Ciel! The world level is higher than the level of the new player's home world! The player can select a special reward from the system store! Select one of the following options:

1. Scale armor adjustable to player size, defense 20, capable of stopping the impact of a pistol bullet.

2. Potion of unstable strength, by consuming it the player can acquire between 1 to 10 points in the strength attribute permanently.

3. Sword, axe, mace or dagger of the player's desired type, attack 10.

A female, emotionless voice rang in Sven's mind.

Ding, the initial attribute base will be 1 point! Due to the initial condition of the player's new body, life points will be reduced to 10 points until the player gets their first attribute point per level! Please choose an initial reward before being sent to Ciel's world.

"Amazing, so games have reached this level of realism. Maybe it wasn't a bad decision to listen to little Crassus for once," Sven was standing on a cloud over 5000 meters above sea level, below his feet, a vast mountain range was surrounded by a large forest that stretched as far as his eyes could see. Among the trees he could make out some urban settlements where the npc's of the game, Soul Ashes Exile, seemed to live.

Before Sven reached the edge of the cloud, the system sent him a new message.

Ding, the player "¿?" must confirm his personal information before logging in! If the player does not choose a reward, it will disappear after a few minutes!

Sven regained his composure when he heard the system message, first checking his body in detail.

His black hair was gone, replaced by platinum blond hair that reached down to his lower back. On the other hand, his body felt lighter, his arms were slightly thinner to his memories and his height had been reduced by a few centimeters.

"System, is there a way to see my current appearance, maybe you can offer me a mirror or something," he asked. Sven trusted the AI in charge of ensuring the safety of the Soul Ashes Exile game, creating a mirror to check his appearance shouldn't be a problem.

Ding, the player can check his status window after confirming his personal information! Do you want to confirm your personal information: yes/no

In front of Sven appeared a holographic panel floating in the air with two buttons to press.

With the status window Sven could see his appearance, and perhaps modify it if the system allowed him to do so. Although Sven had stopped playing MMORPG games several years ago, he knew quite a bit about the basic functions of the system and didn't hesitate to press yes.

Ding, the player Sven is logged into the game! His genetic fingerprint has been integrated into the system database to protect his information!

"Sven? Why was my real name written without my permission. Hey system, there won't be any problem, the name I wanted was not that", Sven didn't understand why the system didn't allow him to modify his name to the one he had in mind. Still, the system did not answer his question and sent another message.

Ding, select the special reward before the timer reaches zero! Preparing to transfer worlds in 2 minutes! 1:59...

A timer appeared in the upper right corner of his vision.

"Maybe it's a bug. No, I shouldn't think about that. It's better to take one of the rewards and then disconnect from the game, hopefully little Crassus didn't have the same thing happen to him as me," Sven pondered what would be the best option to take in his current situation. For starters, at the end of the dwindling time in front of him, Sven would be sent to the howling forest, where millions of players would have to survive to reach their starting village.

At the entrance of the howling forest there were creatures such as goblins, kobolds and skeletons from level 1 to level 5, which would be slaughtered by the mass of players in search of experience points. According to the information provided by the game developers, the howling forest was divided into 12 different areas, where players on each continent could choose their starting village and race after confirming their personal information.

That point was critical for Sven, upon reaching the howling forest there was no protection against players, quickly battles between two or more people would break out to test their new body, even if one did not wish to fight, in the game that did not matter as long as you were in the open field, only in places like villages, towns, cities and special territories pvp and pk were not allowed, plus you could not kill npc's inside urban settlements.

On the other hand, the system warned you that your life points were reduced until you gained an attribute point for the first time. Looking at the second option, he quickly discarded it as one of his options, what if his luck was one of the best and he would gain 10 strength points, even then he could die from a light fall or the cut of a sharp weapon, besides, his life points would not increase, since the points gained would not be thanks to the level up.

Which left Sven with two options. A cold weapon, like a good sword, was a good item to start with, only one of its cuts was needed to defeat a weak enemy, gaining experience points for sure.

Finally there was the scale armor, its color was silver-gray, with a simple design as was a sports coverall. The scales had on them a set of runes that Sven could not decipher, its 20 points of defense was a good way to protect himself until Sven managed to master his own body.

But the tricky part was how he could hide it from the sight of others, if any player discovered armor with an above average level of strength and design, they would not hesitate to steal it from his body even if Sven's life would end because of it.

Before deciding, keeping an eye out that he still had time left he asked, "Is there a way to turn the scale armor invisible?", if the armor was a special item from the system store, there was a chance to get some special attribute that would give him more security in his selection.

Ding, the scale armor is designed to protect the player from enemies around his starting village. To activate the invisibility option of the armor, the player is required to sacrifice half of his health points until he reaches level 10! You wish to activate the invisibility option: yes/no

Sven's eyes opened wide, the doubts in his mind dispersed as he received the system message, "I choose the scale armor, sacrifice half of my life points to activate the invisibility feature."

Ding, the player has selected the scale armor! The invisibility function has been activated, starting to drain the player's life points up to level 10!

Sven fell to his knees in the middle of the clouds, an intense headache attacked him followed by pain all over his body, where he could see some cracks appearing on his transparent skin.

Ding, the player is being sent to Ciel's world! Due to the difference in worlds, the player has learned the language used by the inhabitants of his starting village! The status window has been activated! The system quests have been activated! The skill menu has been activated! The space inventory has been activated! The system store has been activated! The spirit companion menu has been activated! Spirit Beasts menu has been activated! The servants menu has been activated! The allies menu has been activated! Welcome player Sven, the empire was waiting for you!

In an instant, the sounds of various messages rang inside Sven's mind, his vision was blurred for a moment under a dark curtain, when he opened his eyes again he was met with the sight of what appeared to be the inside of a church.

[Gali's Village]

A message floated in front of Sven, it appeared to be that another bug had modified his starting point, sending him to a village that Sven was unaware of.

"Hey you, you shouldn't be in the square with the others. Stop lounging around and start moving."

Sven stood up at the sound of an elderly woman's voice shouting a few feet away. The woman was wearing an elegant white dress, with two golden ribbons descending from her neck in a crescent shape.

"That can't be happening," Sven said.

The elderly woman was an undead witch with long silver hair atop her head. She was not surprised to see Sven and quickly drove him out of the church, with a strength capable of rivaling the best athlete on Earth.

Unable to say a word, Sven tried to control his emotions at the sight of hundreds of undead warriors, like the old woman who expelled him, listening to the orders of a knight with two red spheres in his eye sockets who had an orange question mark above his head.

Lordgath, death knight, ascended.

Level ¿¿??

One of the 7 ascended from the army of Mordred, the undead empire, and your new master. Following in your father's footsteps, you have decided to follow Lordgath's teachings to make your way through the human empire and reduce its cities to ashes.

"Lordgath is my master, but what the hell does this mean".

According to the story of the game, Soul Ashes Exile, Lordgath was one of the world bosses that the human empire had to defeat before making its way into Mordred's undead empire. The map of Mordred still wouldn't be available until players reached level 150, but now Sven was in that place surrounded by an army of undead, which was completely impossible.
