Tabitha and Sabrina were now formally introduced to Queen Mathilde to become her handmaidens.
"What are our duties?" Tabitha asked.
Queen Mathilde already had 6 servants given to her by the Crown Prince Daimon. She was not in need of any others. But her heart went out to the poor girls. She didn't know their story yet, but she would find out.
"You shall be my ladies-in-waiting. You shall accompany me to various events and perform tasks requested of you as needed. Is that acceptable to you?" Queen Mathilde said.
The twins were rather surprised. They expected to be servants. And weren't particularly happy about it. But were willing since it allowed them to escape the dangers of their former homeland.
