After the Lady Rowena left, Tutor Jing sat lost in thought for several minutes. As he'd done countless times in the past, he pondered the connection between Carys and Cyra. It was one of his pet areas of research – discovering the origins of the mythical kingdom of Carys and proving definitively if it was merely allegorical or an actual place. He'd devoted every free moment of his time towards answering this question. He even endured much ridicule and derision from other scholars who felt it was a fruitless endeavor. That it did not matter whether or not it was based on actual kingdom. That the only thing that really mattered was how it was used to impart important life lessons.
But now he had another avenue for investigation. He no longer felt that it was simply an academic exercise. He felt that there was something very important to the connection. Just what that was, he didn't know.
