Per Dragorian tradition – actually, the whim of the Emperor – the newlyweds were given but one week to be "alone" before Daimon was called into service of the Empire. Emperor Zinj had decided to turn over the tasks of governance to Daimon, ostensibly so as to better prepare him for being the Emperor himself one day.
As a result, Daimon reluctantly informed Rowena that he was tasked by the Emperor to perform certain duties of governance. Consequently, she would have to attend her tutoring lessons. She understood but didn't seem too pleased about it.
Daimon did not like to disappoint his wife. He enjoyed her company. And she seemed to enjoy his. And. But it couldn't be helped. Although he had considerably more freedom than Rowena, he too, was bound by duty and his role as the Crown Prince.
