There was an awkward silence after the maids left. Rowena broke the tension by yawning as she said sleepily "Come My Husband. It is time we rest. Apparently tomorrow will be a very long day."
Daimon nodded. 'You have no idea' he thought. He was relieved that she didn't take offense to the maid's statement. Things were awkward enough between them sexually and he didn't want it known that he had yet to consummate his marriage, especially since Rowena would be blamed regardless and it certainly wasn't her fault.
Daimon was not looking forward to the religious ceremony tomorrow. He was usually able to skip such services due to the high demands of being the Lord of War and Defender of the Realm and Protector of the Empire. But now, as a married man, it seems he would be forced to attend.
