The next few weeks were relatively the same for the Imperial Couple. No unannounced visitors, no strange 'accidents,' and no unexpected gifts. Life went on as usual. Busy, but free of trauma.
The Emperor was so pleased with how Daimon was managing the governance of the Empire, that he decided to let him to continue to do so. That is, until he decided it was time to conquer more kingdoms. Fortunately, he seemed content with the current boundaries of his Empire, which, admittedly contained most of the known world. But that could change at any moment.
With the demands of ruling an Empire and dealing with the various conspiracies and plots that swirled around them, Daimon and Rowena began spending less and less time alone together. And it began to show in his demeanor.
