"Hey doggy! fetch!"
Edel, the baron's seven-year old son ordered the nameless child to catch the ball that he threw. It bounced multiple times before stopping at a fair distance.
The four year-old child ran towards the ball with her tiny legs eagerly. She was quite happy to be 'playing' with someone.
"Heh...just like a real dog."
"Young master, the baron has called you. Also, you should stop playing with that dirty thing.."
A knight of baron weiss grimaced while looking at the smiling child running to the young master with the ball.
"Father did? Well then take me there."
Before he could go with the knight, the girl had arrived at his side to give the ball.
"hm? ahh good doggy!"
He ruffled her head a few times then threw the ball as far as he can.
"Now go fetch!"
The girl smiling, eagerly ran towards the ball that was going quite far.
"Hahahaha! Do you see that sir Lawrence? just like a dog!"
"Haa...anyways, the baron is looking for you."
"tsk.. fine let us go"
----
"Father, you've called?"
"Duke Vandmeer will soon come for the annual monster subjugation so I expect you to behave. You will greet them along with me and your mother so be prepared."
"Oh is it almost time already? I understand father"
"Very good. Also, You should stop playing with that girl"
The baron's forehead wrinkled. He did not want to be reminded about his embarrassing past.
"You mean the dog? well fine.. I was just getting bored playing fetch. Anyways, take care, father"
Edel left his fathers office and went to train with the knight Lawrence.
From that day forward, he stopped 'playing' with the nameless girl and ignored her everytime they come across each other.
---
The nameless girl was dejected. His 'friend' no longer played with him. Whenever she tried to bring the ball to Edel and ask him to play, he would get angry and tell her off.
This greatly saddened her and she felt lonely again after only having found a 'friend'. She played with the ball alone, throwing it and picking it up.
She really wanted to know the reason why his 'friend' suddenly ignores her. Then one faithful day while looking for her 'friend', she came to find him along with his parents greeting a man and a girl happily.
The nameless girl had never seen Edel that happy. She noticed that He had been eagerly looking at the young girl beside a huge scary man.
She connected what dots she came up with and came with the conclusion that the young girl had stolen her 'friend'.
