What was I expecting, I knew he wouldn't let me join the contest and yet, somehow I had hoped for a chance, that maybe, just maybe, he might agree to it but that was all just a mere dream, hearing his words myself made my strong resolve which had pushed me all the way to his room at such an hour of the night disappear as if they had never been there in the first place. I guess this is how the opposing party feels when being told 'No'. "If you have nothing else to say then excuse me, I'll be going to bed right now."
