"Uh hi, welcome to my bar… I'm sorry if I'm being rude I've just never seen a walking jar before." I have to speak honestly, it's a peculiar sight.
"Ha! No worries, I am Alexander the great warrior jar! Though I have to say, it's remarkable you seem completely surprised by my existence" He put his hands where his hips would be and stuck out the front of his jar body in pride.
"Well nice to be introduced, I'm 00719. I'm not sure how I can actually serve you here, seeing as though you have no mouth…"
"00719? A rather odd name, how about Oliverick instead? It was my uncle's name after all! As for me, us jars store the dead bodies of great figures, warrior jars like myself stuff ourselves full of great warriors long dead. The better the warrior, the better we fight!"
"Oliverick, alright why not? But that's another issue there, we don't have any warrior bodies at the ready. My kitchen replicates corpses, so maybe if you brought me an intact warrior corpse then I could use it for commerce with the jar people." Even as I spoke I realised how ridiculous I sounded, selling corpses to jar people. Not something I thought I would ever say even in my multiversal travels.
"Truly? What a mighty artefact! Very well! I shall return with the deceased body of a mighty warrior!" He turned to leave, almost getting through before I pointed out where on the map where the other doors have appeared. He also pointed out where this jarberg he was from is, since the door appeared there. Though apparently they are in hiding so I'll be cautious in who I reveal that location too, if at all.
Just as I wave him off, the now drunk sorcerers ask me questions.
"Hey so, what even are you?" The half open eyes stare back at me behind a pint.
"I don't know, I know I'm taller than you lot though by a wide margin. So not too human apparently." I still have no idea what I am, all I know is that I'm just bigger than regular people.
"That you are" Sellen finished off her drink, "Next round is on me!" And with that I sent over their last round of pints, to which they all competed to see who could drink it fastest.
I walked over to the table now with a notepad and pen, "So 8 rounds for 4 people at 300 runes per drink will be 9,600 runes. Or you could offer items, knowledge or services?" That last part almost made their eyes glow.
"We can pay with knowledge? Does it matter the subject?" One of the men smiled as he said this.
"I had one person come in earlier showing me how to make mead, he now has free food and drink for a week. So something that's profitable or just good for me will net you more."
"There goes Raya Lucaria history as payment then. How about we each teach you 2 spells? Then you can defend yourself in case anyone starts something." Definitely a good deal, though this will only pay their tab. It won't net me additional profit unfortunately.
The next hour or so had them teach me 6 spells and Sellen taught me about the history of how glintstone sorcery actually works, along with concepts of mana.
[Glintstone sorcery lv1]
(for reference, lv5 is to be comfortable performing this skill. lv15 would be olympic level. lv20+ starts to get supernatural.)
When they left this time I unfortunately realised I had no staff or focus for the spells, so I went back to knife throwing for a bit.
[knife throwing lv7]
I was getting really good at it now, all my throws were hitting the board I was even getting better grouping. I had no idea how much time passed whilst I did this, but Alexander finally returned, door stretching upon his arrival.
"Hark my friend! For I possess the body of a cleanrot knight!" He hoisted the armoured body onto my counter and gave a hearty laugh. "She was strong, worthy of being added to any warrior jars' collection, unfortunately she went against me!"
"Cleanrot? What do they do?" I was setting aside the armour onto an armour rack that appeared from the walls, I had a feeling I can now sell armour. Then I hooked the body in the freezer and returned with a copy body.
As he was telling me about the great bloody war between Malenia and Radahn, he opened his lid and placed the body in carefully, ceremoniously even. I couldn't help but notice the other bodies in there seem to be fading away almost. I waited for him to finish before I asked.
"The other bodies in you, why are they disappearing? Is that why you always need more bodies?" I asked him curiously, "Oh also, because I can now sell that cleanrot armour, don't worry about having to buy bodies from me ever. You now have an unlimited stock of cleanrot knights and any more warriors you bring."
"That is mighty generous of you Oliverick, but yes, the bodies within me will slowly start their return to the great erdtree. Thus it is vital I continue replenishing my jar, how else will I best my foes?" I came to a closer understanding of how this world works, their afterlife and magic system.
"If you find anything for me to learn or practice on your travels please if you can could you give me one? It gets a bit boring since I'm not allowed to leave this room." The evidence of this displays itself in the throwing knife board at the end of the room.
With that agreement made I went back to the kitchen, unfortunately that cleanrot knight looks… rotten unsurprisingly, so I won't be hosting any cannibals soon. So I simply polished the armour and went to my cheese cupboard. Hundreds of different cheeses lay before me, I've been a bit scared on using them. Some of them have nuts and stuff in them and I just have no idea where to start.
