Chapter 10 - Place your bets

>how does 50 Gold Coins sound?<

>50 Gold isn't that much, is it? Especially for a Guild master like Sam.< Dracard currently has 235,600 Gold Coins to claim in the in-game bank account.

>Really? The price shot way up in such a short time. Also, I'm not rich I just happened to win a contest and sell what I got for lots of money.<

>No, I just haven't got anything to sell yet because I still haven't gotten past The Island yet. So I've just been ignoring it. Now that I can do tasks I just need to do 499 more of them and then I can get there<

>what you're gonna invite her but not me?<

> I think we got off topic so if 50 Gold is too much how about 25?<

>Ok see you in Turnip Village how long will it take for you to get here?<

>Sounds good to me but I don't know how long that's gonna take.<

>um actually I can probably get at least 2 Tasks a day maybe more so it would be about. 249 days give or take and IRL time would be about 83 days I think.<

..

.

After a few hours of discussing various things about the game, he hung up to continue his arduous task marathon in hopes of catching up to his friends.

He spent the first few weeks just doing the morning task but thankfully doing that gave him some minor stat increases here and there and after about three months he was strong enough not to be so exhausted from just one task.

The stats that increased were Strength by 5 and endurance by 4.

As he was able to take on more Tasks he was able to increase his Favorability with The old man, Edith, and also Sera even though hers was the most difficult one to have increased.

Their Favorability after working there for 50 days he was able to increase it, for the old man by 50, Edith by 250, and Seras by 150. Also, his stats increased some more by this point.

The stats that increased were Strength by 2, and endurance by 3, and this time he also managed to increase his Agility by 4 and his Dexterity by 3.

if he did proper tanning for the past 50 days he could have incensed all of his body stats about by 18 give or take. Remember the higher the stats are the harder they are to increase through training.

His stats now look like this:

HP: (75.5) SP: (66.5)

MP: (34.5) MF: (44.5)

DE: {44.5}

Free Status Points: 2

{Strength:10.5 Agility:7.5 Dexterity:6.5 Perception:3.5 Endurance:10.5 (+10)} {Body= 48.5}

{Intelligence:3.5 Wisdom:3.5 Willpower:13.5 Sense:3.5 Focus:3.5} {Mind = 27.5}

{Demonic Power: 1 }

Demonic Awakening Rate: {1%} (0.5%)]

CC: (6/79.5 pounds)

Look at that he's no longer made of wet paper now he's normal paper. The downside is he's still way behind other players that can not only train but level up as well.

*** < i decided to use three of these for a pov change.

As Dracard was occupied doing his tasks another player had just reached Max EXP for level 30

[DING CONGRATULATIONS PLAYER Blazing_Sun_King FOR BEING THE FIRST PLAYER TO REACH Max EXP FOR LEVEL 30 IN THE WORLD YOU HAVE RECEIVED:

1000 Fame

5 free stat points

One random rare skill card

And the Title:

{Dungeon Crawling To Reach The Top

Tidal effect: when equipped the user gets an increase in drops of a higher quality when you're the first one to clear a Dungeon.

Decreases the quality of drops outside of Dungeons.} ]

"Tsk, the Title sounds good but to get the most out of it I will need to constantly equip and unequip it as well as be the first to complete a dungeon. But the other stuff was worth it" he said with a laugh.

"You go, boss"

"I knew you'd be the first one"

"All hall Blazing_Sun_King"

His cronies cheered for him as he sat on the dungeon boss they defeated.

Blazing_Sun_King is a player that has been playing this game since week one because he doesn't have the new meta that the newer player uses. But what he does have is his family's money and intellect.

He used everything at his disposal to get an edge over the meta players one is hiring help and another is getting the best gear. His character stands 5"9' feet tall and is adorned in full plate armor from head to toe. He has the Common class warrior but looks like a knight in his C-rank armor.

'Look at these guys getting hyped for no reason. Ha ha well let's give them a real reason to be hyped.' he thought as he stood up and raised his Great Sword and shouted.

"FOOLS I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH JUST BEING THE FIRST TO LEVEL THIRTY I'M GONNA BE THE FIRST TO GET MY CLASS ADVANCEMENT AS WELL HAHAHA." he declared to them

This declaration made all of them burst into cheering and laughter; some even said they would rule this world.

However, not everything goes as planned.

..

.

When he returned to the City of Doughnut he quickly got his guilds affairs in order before he did his class advancement.

In front of him stood a large building, entering the building he saw several doors and walked up to the door with the warrior Symbol on it. The place he's entered is called the Class Room here you can get a basic class at level 10 by entering the room and talking to the instructor there. The rooms you enter aren't actually a part of the building the doors act as portals to another space.

Entering the all too familiar warrior training room he sees several other players taking the class test. For warriors, it involves several different exercises that they need to complete in order to get the trainer's approval for the class acquisition.

But he is not here for the basics, he has returned here to ascend to the next floor and take on the class advancement test.

With a determinant look in Blazing_Sun_Kings eyes as he ascends the stairs to the second floor, he sees an old warrior with a large sword at his side sitting in front of the entrance to the second level.

The Old Warrior looked up from the book he was reading and gave him Just a simple glance that was cold enough to make him freeze in place.

'Ack! I heard that this Old Warrior was able to stop anyone from ascending the stairs with a simple look but to think his look was so intimidating.' he thought as The Old Warrior sized him up as he spoke.

"You meet the minimum requirements to take the test however I must warn you to reconsider as you still lack true strength." The Old Warrior said in a cold tone.

Suddenly the pressure he was feeling disappeared and he was finally able to breathe again.

'When did I start holding my breath.' he thought as he gasped for air.

Gathering his thoughts he looked at the old man and said. "What do you mean by the minimum requirements?" he asked confused all he knew was that in order to take the test he needed to be level 30

"You otherworlders don't know the warrior's honor nor their sacrifice, so you rely on a flimsy crunch and waken yourselves with it. If it wasn't for the goddesses prophecies wouldn't have allowed you up the stairs let alone the right to be a warrior. I recommend that a weakling like yourself to restart from the basics." The Old Warrior Stated in a cold tone.

'This bastard NPC dares to say I'm weak, if it wasn't for the need to get past you I would…' he thought in anger without finishing his thought as he knew he couldn't do anything to this NPC even if he had the strength to do so.

"I don't care what you think I'm going to the next floor." he declared with gritted teeth.

"Sigh, you should really heed the advice of your elders." The Old Warrior said before giving him the Class Advancement Test.

[DING YOU HAVE MET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE THE CLASS ADVANCEMENT TEST.

{Test of Self:

In this test, you will go up against an enemy that fights just like you.

In this test you can't use any equipment or Cards you have acquired, you will be given basic armor and weapons to complete the test with.

Hitting Accept will take you to a fake world, and the objective of the test will be told to you upon arrival.

You must use your own strength to win good luck.

{Accept} {Decline}} ]

"HEY OLD MAN WAT KINDA FOR BULLSHIT IS THIS!?" he yelled in anger

Shaking his head, The Old Warrior looked at him and said. "THIS IS THE TEST THAT ALL ASPIRING WARRIORS TAKE, DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS UNFAIR JUST BLAME YOUR OWN WEAKNESS." he said in an angry yet calm tone.

Taken aback by The Old Warrior's anger he stopped being angry and decided to ask some questions after a few minutes of standing there frozen.

"Cough, so um why can't I take my armor, weapons, and skills?" he asked, trying to not anger The Old Warrior again.

"How can one determine the true skills of another if they rely on equipment and those Cards." he said calmly. " one more thing before you accept the Test, if you fail you will not be able to take it again for three years."

"What!? Why three years, isn't that way too long?" 'If I fail I'll be three years behind everyone else' he thought in a panic.

"Do you know how long it takes to master a skill?"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"It takes a lifetime of dedication, of course, talent helps speed up the process."

"Again, what does that have to do with having to wait three years?" he said not understanding.

"If you can't figure out something so simple then what I'm saying is just a waste of breath."

"Go now and take the test but be warned it won't be easy, it will be the hardest thing you've ever done." That was the last thing the old man said before he went back to reading his book.

'Whatever I doubt it'll be that hard it's just a game after all and I've killed E-rank bosses before a test about fighting will be no problem.' he taught as he pressed Accept, then his world faded to black.

As he left to take the test the other players at the bottom of the stairs were whispering among themselves many of them knew who he was and decided to start placing bets on if he will succeed in the Class Advancement and how long it will take.

"ALRIGHT PLACE YOUR BETS NOW." 'This is a golden opportunity to make lots of gold.' thought a low-level player with greed in her eyes.

///*Bonus Words: NPC Favorability

Favorability is how much an NPC close an NPC is to you and whether or not they consider you a friend. There are other stats that can change how an NPC interacts with you but favorability is the most important to players.

There are Five levels for Favorability in this game

The first is 1-199 Strangers

The second is 200-399 Acquaintances

The third is 400-699 Friends

And finally is True Friendship however this last one is the hardest to get because you also need the NPC to have high Trust in you.

One more thing Favorability is not love, you can romance an NPC to increase their love toward you however this is a different stat and love is subjective and can't be forced.*///
