Chapter 6 - Godly Technique 2

The chief and Drake sat across from each other with the legs crossed, Both men had their shirts off as this was the masters orders. The chief was about to show Drake an important part of his spearmanship and he said he needed drake to learn it as fast as possible for some reason. All of this is happening right now because right after the chief finished instructing Drake on the 52 Spear techniques he had previously used, Drake had asked the chief what the glow around his body had been. The chief who wasn't looking at him at that time froze completely, and then turned around with a shocked expression and looked at the now confused Drake. He thought maybe that he saw something he shouldn't have but apparently this was a part of the techniques.

The chief started to speak and said to Drake,"Young successor, I have a very difficult level of spearmanship, it is a very rare and hard to receive set of techniques. These techniques have been tested on the battlefield millions of times and they are all battle tested techniques. However, just the techniques will only get you to the intermediate level."

Drake looked on with wide eyes when he realized what the chief had just said. The 52 techniques all look like godly techniques when used by the chief but he had just basically told Drake that the techniques themselves weren't even the main part of it. Basically a class is set like equipment and clothing ranks, with a few exceptions. Take the battle mage class, it had six levels of experience to form the class. It went from novice, to beginner, to intermediate, to advanced, to master, to grandmaster. This system is based on how well you understand the techniques you are using and how effectively you can use them in real fights. So the fact that for the chiefs class skill to only allow up to 50% with only the technique was very worrisome and Drake had a feeling it had to do with the glow he saw earlier.

The chief continued,"What I am about to tell you can not leave between the two of us, do you understand?" Drake nodded his head in confirmation, afterall why would he ever tell anyone what class he had? The chief went on,"My techniques must be used with what is called battle aura."

Drake leaned forward,"Battle Aura? I am sorry master, I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable and I have never heard of this!" Drake was at a loss as even with the chief going off to the war, hundreds of videos and pictures of his cavalry charges and not one person knew anything about his aura?

The chief laughed out loud and said to him,"Of course boy, while the techniques themselves are technically empire secrets, the real secret is the battle aura itself. The battle aura of a master can be hidden from every type of person except one. It cannot block the site of someone who has died and come back to life, and as you know, this can only be done by god's boy!"

Drake looked stunned and then realized that the chief thought that the gods of this VR world had brought him back from death and given him a second chance by sending him to this village to learn from the chief. This was not what had happened and Drake was just trying to use his future knowledge to advantage but this did raise another question in his mind. If what the the chief said is true and only people brought back by a god can see the aura of an aura user then does that mean a god of some kind left the door he came back through for him? There were too man coincidences piling up and drake would need time and to research it but now was not the correct time and so he simply responded to the chief,"I did not know that, but considering I have memories of myself floating through a dark void of nothingness, I guess it is safe to assume a powerful god helped me."

The chief was a little shocked that he was so easily acknowledged and realized how calm Drake was at almost all times. This was perfect for any warrior as being able to maintain a rational and calm head and state of mind was crucial for every battle. If one got angry easily or distracted by other things during a battle then they were not meant for this type of training. The chief sighed in relief upon realizing this and continued on saying,"Good, now I will pour my aura into you, you only have one job. I am going to be pushing my aura into your heart and you will need to push the aura around your bloodstream to create an aura channel. If you are having trouble at any point, we can stop and try again tomorrow as channeling aura incorrectly can lead to negative side effects!"

The chief put his hand on Drake's chest and Drake closed his eyes and tried to focus on the aura entering his body. At first Drake wasn't feeling anything, then all at once an incredible euphoric feeling crossed every part of his body. Drake was trying to keep calm and focus on the feeling, but it was like a sexy girl was touching every sensitive area of his body, and his teenage hormones were going crazy at the stimulation.

Drake focused more on the feeling of the aura and was trying to push into his veins like his master had told him but the aura was being very stubborn and was not moving very easily. AS Drake continued to attempt to move the aura he noticed that the aura being added to his heart had stopped. Drake thought that maybe his master thought that this was enough, but for Drake it was barely enough to even stimulate the area around his heart, much less the rest of his body! Drake focused on the aura once more, trying to push it into his veins with much difficulty but was still not having any luck.

Drake was running on steam and was getting more and more frustrated as more time went on and finally he started thinking about how the aura itself worked. Why did his master say that he had to 'push' the aura to his mana channels? Couldn't he attach the mana to the actual blood vessels and have them carry the aura every part of his body for him? That would mean he wouldn't have to manually push out the aura when he needed it, right? Drake tried it and attached mana onto the blood cells that were coming in and out of his heart. It was like a toll booth and soon he could feel all the aura riding around on the blood cells slowly travelling around his body.

Suddenly, right when he was about to finish the process he heard the chief screaming out to him,"Drake!! Young man, don't die!" Drake looked up at the old man who appeared to be crying and shaking like a leaf in the wind.

Drake looked up at the elder and said,"Why would I die master?"

The chief looked at him stunned and said," I felt your heart stop! The aura inside you went rampant and spread around your body quickly after not moving for several minutes! How are you ok son?!"

Drake calmed the frantic elder down and with his best layman terms tried to explain what a blood vessel was to the chief and how he had attached the aura to his blood cells and just naturally let them do the work. The elder was very surprised but was happy and congratulated him nonetheless. After giving Drake some advice he left to rest in his home, and he would come and check on Drake's progress in 3 weeks. This is what Drake had told Loco the other day, because after you see an NPC moveset if you can effectively copy it, gain their recognition, and then they pass their class onto you as the master does for their students. The class system was always a little convoluted for Drake to understand but it made for interesting gameplay. Drake cannot count the amount of time he would be battling someone and then they would use their class skills and would completely wipe the floor with him because a random NPC had given them a rare skill.

Drake now had both parts of the successorship of Isaiah the Conqueror and he really wanted to know how high of a rank this martial technique was but until he honed the techniques in his own hands to gain the approval of his master he wouldn't know. It only told you the rank of the class once you gained the recognition of the master, and then received the corresponding set of skills.

You of course had to get better proficiency with each skill much like the class skills. Though ranking up skills just generally took too much time and it was better to have loads of skills for diversity in movesets.
