Chapter 59 - Chapter 59

Alex's POV

To say that my Pack was surprised by what I had said when I got back would be a massive understatement, essentially I had told them that we were going to pack up everything we could and move somewhere else. I brought up that Jacke had offered us trucks to move our stuff in, and if we needed protection we'd have anything we needed as this wasn't going to be a one-day deal, this would take a while, so of course, they were concerned.

"Alpha, we would never openly question your judgment, you've never led us astray before; But why are we doing this when Home is here?"

"Home is wherever we settle, for a long time, Home has been here because that's where our forefathers built this place. You don't see me asking you to destroy this place, do you? No, I'm simply asking that you all follow my orders, deconstructing the Home to be rebuilt somewhere else. Where Jacke lives was recently attacked and burned to the ground, it was destroyed and left to ruin, so instead of letting my mate suffer in silence, I'm moving. You don't have to join me, but I am still your Alpha. The choice, of course, falls to you all; However, I can't help mine without you, so please keep that in mind before you make your decision," I said before heading to my house, next to the Pack House, I had never liked living in the Pack House because of the memories I had there, so I had a secondary building built for me to live in, It was cozy and didn't take up much space, but had enough space for three people to live. I went through and started packing up some of my essentials in boxes, moving stuff around to keep it organized as I put them away to be moved in the truck Jacke let me borrow.

"Alex, can you come outside for a second?" My Beta asked, and I joined him outside, to see my family kneeling, "They've come to a decision, and simply need your orders for how to proceed. How do you want to do this?"

"Start packing, Y'all. Anything and everything of value are to be packaged and ready to be shipped out by tomorrow!" I shouted before turning to my Beta, "Make sure this gets done quickly, I'm going to let Jacke know we're going to need trucks; And a lot of them at that."

He nodded his head before I went back inside and called Jacke, and was surprised to hear music playing before he even said anything.

"Hey Alex, how's it hanging?"

"Not bad, Pup, not bad at all. Just called to let you know that we're going to need a lot of trucks, and guard if you can spare them."

"What would I be if not comply with your commands? How much do you need?"

"How much do you have to spare?"

"I'll let you know this, once I'm done getting food for the two kids we met, I'll send the word out and you'll have anything and everything my name is worth. Talk soon," He said before hanging up, and my heart fluttered even if I was confused by what he meant by that, but it was Jacke, and what he says goes. Even if I'm the one holding his reins.

Jacke's POV

We stopped by a Wendy's and got the kids two 4 for $4s, told them to be careful and try not to spill before we turned back towards home. Damien pulled up his phone, called the local U-haul, and put me on the line.

"Hello, Sir, this is Daniel. How may I be of service?"

"Howdy Daniel, can you patch me through to Dutch, please?"

"Of course, Sir," He said as we continued down the road, Damien answering the Pair's questions as the music played, easing their nerves a bit and helping Jameson remain calm.

"Howdy, Jackie Boy, how can the Dutch be of service today?"

"Dutchy boy, I've got one hell of an order for you. I need every truck you've got, sent to a location that I'll send you in just a moment," I said before typing the numbers on my phone, Dutch was an old friend of mine, but also a very wise businessman. I gave him a large chunk of money a while back to get his side businesses started, and now I needed his help, so he knew better than to ask questions.

"Alrighty, Jacke, it looks like the location is all set up, and is this going to be a standard run? Or is this one special?"

"Specialty Order, Dutch. Every truck needs to be filled with able bodies to give my Wife a helping hand with her project, you follow her orders to the letter. Got it?"

"Of course, Jacke, I know better than to go against direct orders. Should they be armed? Protection squad or Destruction squad?"

"Yes, and this is for protection. Keep her and her people safe, and help them wherever you can. They're not like you and me so I expect you to represent us well, with the utmost respect," I said, and could hear Dutch typing away at his computer, he knew his place and knew how much his assistance meant to me, so I thought I'd give him an extra bonus, "And Dutch, one last thing, this job is of the utmost importance. Failure is not an option here, so, If Alex gets back to me with a good report, there's a special project I've got for you. We're talking "Opportunity of a lifetime" type shit here, do not disappoint me."

"I won't Jacke, I'll reach out once the boys are on the road," He said before hanging up, that's the one thing about the business I enjoyed, I'd gotten so good at it that when it came to my people they knew I always paid my dues. My people knew how much I valued their time and energy, but they also knew that their boss was not one to mess around with, so they took my word as platinum chips to their computers.

"How long until Dutch calls back, ya think?"

"Meh, I give him 10 maybe 20 minutes, he's nothing if not thorough with his work. It's why I entrusted him with the U-haul here, he knows how to run a joint like that, and if something needs hiding or transport, there's no one better in the business than he," I said as I changed the song to something more upbeat, "LA Devotee", and almost instantly the pair started dancing in the backseat. They'd finished their food, and put their trash in the bag then put one bag in the other and handed it to Damien to be thrown out.

"You two are very kind, thank you for respecting the vehicle," Damien said before putting the bag in the glove compartment, if it were anyone else I might've kicked them out, but I wasn't going to do that to D.

We got home to see Nicki pacing and Jade trying to calm her down, Jay was trying to help her to no avail, until they saw us pull up.

"That took you way longer than we thought, what happened?" Nicki said before Damien and I took a step in opposite directions to let the kids through, which lit up Jay's eyes. He walked up to the pair and introduced himself, asking where they were from and why they were there, the pair looked back at me; I just nodded my head, letting them know they were safe here, and they started telling their story. By the end of it, Jay looked like he wanted to kill somebody, and Nicki looked at me with a mix of horror and pride.

"Jacke? A word?" She said before stepping off to the side, with me following close behind her, we took a seat at the steps and that's when the questions started.

"Why'd you bring them here?"

"Orphans."

"What about the Church?"

"Still intact, if without their Priest," I said and showed her the memory of how it played out, and if it weren't for the long list of shit that we've been through together, I wouldn't be shocked if she was terrified of me.

"You know, there's a Hellsing Reference here," She said before laughing, and standing back up to join back up with Jade.

There was, in fact, a Hellsing Reference to be made but I was too tired to focus on that; My family set up some sleeping bags for Jay, Beatrice, and Alessa, putting them to bed before we made a fire and talked about everything going on as the night went on. This was going to be one hell of a project, but Alex made it worth it for me, so everything was all good and dandy.
