Natasha took a deep breath calming herself down, they were about to go out there and even though she never thought that she was one to feel stage fright, but she did feel a little bit nervous.
This was the first time she would ever do something like this and she guessed that no one was completely immune to pre-event jitters.
"You don't have to be nervous Natasha, you will do great." Dom's voice broke Natasha out of her concentration as she turned to look at him and frowned.
"Who told you that I'm nervous?" she asked him sharply.
"No one, but you do look like you are, you don't have to worry everyone gets jitters, I get them all the time." he laughed.
"Nice to know but I never asked." she replied.
"Just keep your mouth shut and don't talk except spoken to." she added as Dom nodded and gestured that he was zipping his mouth shut as Natasha scoffed.
"Alright, it's showtime." said Chloe as she smiled and one of the employees unlocked the front door.
"Good luck." said Natasha as she smiled at Chloe and Chloe mouthed the words thank you.
The front doors were opened and they stepped out in front of the crowd that seemed to have grown since the last time she they were outside.
Natasha and Chloe stood side by side and Dom stood right behind Natasha, he smiled and waved to the camera and flashes of pictures taken.
The commotion in the crowd was surprisingly silenced as they all turned their attention to them. Natasha felt like this was the perfect time to speak, at least now she did not need to worry about a good way to silence everyone.
"Thank you all for coming to the first opening of Green Foods." said Natasha as Dom and Chloe clapped as everyone else clapped.
"We are so proud and happy to present to you our project that has been in the works for a long time." she said smiling.
"This was an idea first presented by my very dear friend and colleague Mrs. Chloe Thompson." said Natasha as she smiled at Chloe and claps ensued.
"It took months, even years of intricate planning to ensure that we fulfil our guarantee to bring you organic, farm fresh produce at an affordable price every single day." said Natasha.
"We sell fresh produce ranging from fruits to vegetables and fresh milk and we are so happy to be able to be the go to for organic produce." said Natasha as she smiled.
"This venture has not only defied the odds by reaching this stage, but it as also fulfilled a need for affordable fresh foods as well as creating many job opportunities that are really needed in our society today."
"That is all I planned to say, but I am sure that my partner Chloe has lots more to add." said Natasha as she handed it over to Chloe who looked at her nervously and smiled.
"Ahh... yes, like my partner stated, we are really happy to make this dream turn into a reality... She has really explained it all and I guess what I have left to say is that I am so grateful that she trusted me with so much time, resources and energy into this project and I am glad that everyone is here to share in out joy as well, thank you." said Chloe as she smiled.
She had not really prepared anything much to say, she only thought that it would be a few photographers and not news channels here, regardless, she composed herself and spoke what was truly in her heart.
"And with that being said, I declare Green Foods officially open for business." said Natasha as one of the employees handed her a golden scissors as she and Chloe held the scissors turned around and cut the red ribbon behind them.
They sounds of clapping and cheers rang out as she and Chloe laughed and Dom smiled, then came the horde of questions that they were not prepared for.
"Mrs. White, Mrs. White, when did you acquire the farm that supplies Green Foods their produce?" asked one reporter.
"A few years ago." she replied simply, there was no need to explain intensively.
"Mrs. White, Mrs. Thompson what are your plans for the future of Green Foods?" asked another reporter.
Chloe and Natasha looked at each other and laughed.
"I think you should answer this one Chloe." said Natasha as she laughed.
"Okay, so out plans for the future of the store is expansion. If we are able to start up strong in Lexington with a good customer base and profitable sales then we will be able to open up more stores in more areas and eventually enter the scene against other well known competitors, but for now we are just a small, starting store just happy to the running." replied Chloe as she smiled.
"Mrs. Thompson, how many employees are currently employed in the store?"
"For now we have about eighty employees, but we are looking to increase that number in the future." said Chloe as she smiled.
Everything was going smoothly, Chloe and Natasha were enjoying answering the questions, until one reporter asked a question directed to Natasha's most disliked person at the moment.
"Mr. White, what a surprise to see you here, how does it feel to see what your wife has accomplished?"
Natasha instantly froze and flinched when she heard that question, she glanced over at Dom as he smiled.
"I am proud of her and Chloe for everything they have achieved, it is an honour to be present at their launch." he replied smoothly.
"Is your wife's company in any way affiliated with A-corp?" came another question and this time Natasha almost snapped if not for the fact that they were in public. This was exactly what she wanted to avoid, questions like these. This was she and Chloe's own project, it had nothing to do with the company.
"No it is not. My wife is a very hardworking woman and she likes to separate her business from the family business which is understandable, I understand her and support her in her wishes." said Dom sweetly as Natasha almost threw up a little from how sweet he was pretending to be.
"However, regardless of if this is not part of the family business or not, she still has immense support from us all, and that is why I am here to represent the entire family who are proud to see all she and Chloe's hard work." he added smiling.
Natasha could promise you that she heard some 'awwws' ringing out in the crowd and she just felt like rolling her eyes, oh how she wished he was not here.
"Mrs. White, how does it feel to have your successful CEO husband find time out of his busy schedule to come and support you?" came another annoying question, Natasha wished that the subject of the questions would remain on the store alone and not her and Dom.
"Well at home, he's not a successful CEO, he's just a good father and husband, he always finds time to support family matters even with his busy schedule and if I'm being honest I'm sure the only thing on his schedule today was to sleep in." said Natasha as everyone laughed.
"The two of you are definitely a power couple, how do you balance your separately busy lives with family life and still have the time to keep your love lasting?" came another question.
Natasha curled her hand into a fist, she absolutely hated these questions, this was the last straw, she was about to lash out when she suddenly felt Dom embrace her in a side hug as he chuckled.
He was not blind, he could see how Natasha twitched every single time a question was directed to him, and this last question was definitely too much for her to handle with a straight face, so he needed to save her from ruining this smooth launch.
"All your questions are annoying my wife, she would rather you ask valid questions about the store instead of our personal life please and thank you in advance." he said softly and politely as Natasha once again could hear all the admiration everyone had for him and it really irked her.
"Well, I believe that is enough questions already, happy shopping everyone." Natasha said smiling happily.
"Leave now and don't you dare stay around here for a moment." she whispered into his ear, to the onlookers it seemed as if she was speaking something endearing to him, the truth was only known between them, but that did not stop the cameramen from taking picture of the endearing moment.
"You don't have to tell me twice." he whispered back letting go of her as he smiled, waved and walked away as people started to enter the store.
Natasha sighed in relief, that could have gone worse than she had expected, luckily it did not.
Chloe on the other hand was extremely excited, to her this was a success, she gave Natasha a thumbs up as Natasha laughed and replied with a thumbs up.
