"Here you go" said a brown-haired woman, who was sitting at a desk as she handed Natasha a few documents as Natasha looked through them.
"Thank you" said Natasha as she smiled at the woman.
"You are welcome" said the woman as she smiled at Natasha and Natasha turned around to walk away as she walked out of the office while looking at the documents that she had just received.
Natasha took a deep breath as she pursed her lips, this was annoying, Natasha sighed as she walked to a nearby bench that was under a tree, and she sat down on the empty bench as she placed the document beside her and she tightened her hair that was up in a ponytail, it was starting tot get loose.
Natasha picked up the document as she looked at it again, she still did not like what she was seeing, but after a few moments of thinking, she knew just what to do.
Natasha reached into her tote bag as she found her phone and she dialled a number as she waited for her call to be picked.
…
Dom was working in his office, he was very busy, and he sighed as he looked at a few numbers that were confusing him, he was about to give up, when he heard his phone ring, and he looked at the caller ID as he smiled and he picked it up.
"Hey Natasha" said Dom as he smiled and he put his phone to his ear.
"Hey Dom" said Natasha as she smiled as Dom picked her call.
"How's work?" asked Natasha.
"*Sigh*, Stressful" replied Dom as he sighed.
"Oh I am sure that you will be fine Dom" said Natasha as she laughed.
"I'm just seeing some numbers that I don't agree with, I'm so confused right now" said Dom as he chuckled, even though that was not something to laugh about.
"I can imagine" said Natasha.
"Being a CEO isn't an easy job at all, the movies misinterpret the position" said Dom.
"I know, I can agree with that" said Natasha as she laughed.
"I can imagine that you have so much work?" asked Natasha.
"Oh tell me about it, my desk is full of papers, and I haven't even gone through everything" said Dom as he sighed.
"What about your new secretary, wasn't she supposed to resume soon?" asked Natasha.
"Well yes, she's going to resume tomorrow" said Dom.
"That's nice, at least you will have some help" said Natasha.
"Oh I am looking forward to her resuming, I really need the help" said Dom as he breathed a sigh of relief.
"I can tell" said Natasha as she laughed.
"But well, for now, I am on my own, I'm probably going to have to ask my dad about this" said Dom.
"I am sure that he will be able to help you, and if he can't Grandfather is always there" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Please don't add Grandfather as an option, you know how he is, he expects me to know it all" said Dom as he laughed.
"Oh you will be fine Dom, it takes some getting used to, that's all" said Natasha as she smiled.
"I guess that you are right" said Dom as he smiled.
"Anyway, enough about me, and my many problems" said Dom as Natasha laughed.
"So what's up?" asked Dom as he closed a file on his desk.
"Oh I was wondering if you have the microeconomics textbook?" asked Natasha.
"Microeconomics?" asked Dom.
"Yes" said Natasha.
"Which one? The first edition by N. Gregory Mankiw, or the one by Robert Pindyck, or the one by Glenn Hubbard?" asked Dom.
"The one by Glenn Hubbard, I have an assignment based on it" said Natasha.
"Ahh well yes, I have it" said Dom.
"Great, can I borrow it?" asked Natasha.
"Of course you can, you can even have it" said Dom as he smiled, he had no use for it anymore, he had read it more than four times.
"Thanks Dom" said Natasha as she smiled.
"No need to thank me" said Dom as he smiled.
"So should I come over to the office or…?" asked Natasha.
"No, you don't need to, I will be home by 5, you can come and get it then" said Dom.
"Alright 5, I will be there" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Alright then, I have to go now, see you later" said Dom as he smiled.
"Okay Bye, see you later" said Natasha as she smiled and Dom ended the call as Natasha smiled, she knew that he would have the exact book that she was looking for.
Natasha dialled another number as her phone rang and rang as her call was not picked up at all as Natasha sighed.
"Dad, I tried calling you, but your phone is switched off, anyway Dad, I'll be home by 5, call me if you want anything special for dinner, I will stop by the store, Bye Dad, love you" said Natasha as she left a voice note and she put her phone back in her bag as she stood up and she walked to her next class.
…
Natasha smiled as she walked to the front door and she knocked on the door as she waited for someone to answer the door.
"Hey Natasha" said Dom as he smiled and he opened the door, he was dressed casually in jeans and a red top.
"Hey" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Come in, Alfred is busy changing all the locks" said Dom as he walked into the house and Natasha followed after him as she closed the door.
"Why? What's wrong?" asked Natasha as she walked through the familiar hall that she knew better than the back of her hand as Dom slipped into another room on the right.
"Nothing much, you know Grandfather, he's too careful, mostly fear, he changes the locks in his house every year, and he decided to do the same over here" said Dom as he walked out of the room and continued upstairs.
"Sometimes I wonder with Grandfather, he worries me" said Natasha as she walked up the stairs.
"You and me both, but well he's fine, I do try to explain to him that we live in a very secure place, but he gives me the reason the he's been alive and doing that longer than I have been born" said Dom as he rolled his eyes and Natasha laughed as Dom opened the door for her and she walked in as he followed after her.
"Don't laugh, it's not funny Grandfather is a pain sometimes" said Dom as Natasha laughed, and he could not help but laugh as well.
"Oh come on, you have to love him anyway" said Natasha as he laughed and Dom reluctantly agreed with her as he walked to a shelf, this was his study room.
"Aha, I knew that it was here…" said Dom as he searched through the shelf as he turned to Natasha and he handed her the book.
"Thanks Dom, you are a lifesaver, there was a long waiting list to get this book" said Natasha as she smiled and Dom smiled at her.
"You are welcome" said Dom as he smiled.
"I wonder though, how did you know that I would have the book? Why didn't you ask Michael, or Charlie, or Nine?" asked Dom as he was curious.
"Well I know that Michael must have donated his, Nine doesn't like sharing his things, and well Charlie… I am sure that he burnt all his books already, but I know that you are very neat, and you always Keep all your books very well" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Oh, is that your subtle way of calling me a nerd?" asked Dom with a raised eyebrow.
"No, no of course not, you are not a nerd, you are very studious" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Right Natasha… right, but you are correct, Michael gave his book to a classmate, and she never returned it, Nine keeps all his stuff locked up, and Charlie… you are right… he did burn all his books" said Dom as he scoffed and he shook his head.
"I guessed as much" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Yes, anyway, I happen to have notes I made of the book here with me, do you want them as well?" asked Dom as he looked at Natasha.
"No, no Dom, I will make my own notes, thank you" said Natasha as she smiled.
"You are welcome" said Dom as he smiled and Natasha's phone started to beep as she removed it from her pocket and she stopped the timer.
"Oh my, I have to get going now, I have to make dinner" said Natasha as she could not believe how much time she had wasted.
"No worries, let me see you off" said Dom as he smiled.
"Okay" said Natasha as she smiled and she started to walk quickly as Dom followed after her.
…
"So how are things going with your classes?" asked Dom as he smiled as he and Natasha walked from his house to her house as they spoke.
"Well good, tiring though, I kind of forgot that I had two more classes to catch, this new semester's timetable Is so hectic" said Natasha.
"I am sure that you will get used to it" said Dom as he smiled.
"Yeah I hope so, anyway, where's Lulu?" asked Natasha as she looked at Dom.
"Well someway somehow, she convinced my Grandfather to let her go to a sleepover at a friends house" said Dom as Natasha laughed.
"You know, I wonder why Grandfather is so soft with her, when I was her age, he never let me go anywhere" said Dom as Natasha laughed.
"Oh calm down Dom, you're a grown man, besides Lulu is a very good girl, Grandfather wouldn't let her go if he didn't know that she would be fine" said Natasha.
"No, no, this is a conspiracy, I am sure that Lulu knows how much Grandfather dotes on her, and she uses it to her advantage, if my dad says no, all she does is convince Grandfather and she gets her way" said Dom as he scoffed.
"Oh leave her be Dom, she's just a teenager, of course she wants to go out, and hang out with friends" said Natasha.
"No, she should be studying" said Dom as he and Natasha looked at each other as they both started laughing as they stopped in front of the gate of Natasha's house.
"We are here" said Natasha as Dom nodded.
"You want to come in?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"Sure, why not? Is your dad home?" asked Dom.
"I think that he is, or at least I hope so, he had an appointment today" said Natasha as she opened the gate and Dom closed it as they walked to the front door and she opened the door as they walked in.
"Dad, Dad, I'm home, where are you?" asked Natasha as she put her keys on the table.
"I'm in here Tasha" came Larry's voice from the second room as Natasha walked there and Dom followed her.
"Hello Dad" said Natasha as she smiled and she bent down as she gave Larry a kiss on the cheek.
"Hello Tasha" said Larry as he smiled.
"How was your day? And your appointment?" asked Natasha.
"Both were good" replied Larry with a smile.
"I sent you a message, did you see it?" asked Natasha.
"I did, and I told you not to bother" said Larry as he smiled.
"Oh okay" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Good Evening Uncle" said Dom as he smiled.
"Oh Dom, how are you?" asked Larry as he smiled and he looked at Dom.
"I am good uncle, and how are you?" asked Dom as he smiled.
"I could be better…" said Larry as his voice trailed off and Natasha sighed internally.
"What brings you here?" asked Larry.
"Ahh well, I borrowed a book from him dad" said Natasha.
"I see" said Larry.
"I also wanted to say hi, and check up on you, how do you feel?" asked Dom in worry.
"Well the doctor says that as long as I take my medications, the pain will subside" said Larry as he moved in his wheelchair and Dom looked at him as Natasha did not like where the conversation was going, it made her sad.
"Dad, I'm going to get started on dinner" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Alright Tasha go ahead" said Larry.
"But I don't want to leave you all alone" said Natasha.
"He won't be alone, I will be here" said Dom as he smiled.
"You will?" asked Natasha as she looked at Dom and he nodded his head.
"Yes, I have some free time on my hands, besides, we should catch up uncle" said Dom as he smiled and Larry smiled.
"Okay, then, I'll make sure to be quick" said Natasha as she smiled and she placed the book on the table and she walked out the door to the kitchen.
"Uncle did you watch the soccer match on Sunday?" asked Dom.
"Oh that one? It was horrible, simply horrible, to thing that our team lost like that?" asked Larry as he shook his head.
"I agree, we could have done so much better, do you remember back in the glory days, where we won our rivals 5-0?" asked Dom.
"Oh those were the glory days, the glory days I tell you, now the team Is falling apart" said Larry.
"Not to even talk about the new coach, we need a petition for Buster to come back" said Dom.
"I agree with you, during his days, the boys were unstoppable" said Larry as Dom agreed with him.
…
"Alright… that's boiling" said Natasha to herself as she nodded her head and she decided to check up on Dom and her father as she walked out of the kitchen and she heard their voices in the dining room as she stopped once she heard something that she had not heard in a long time.
Her father was laughing, as he and Dom were talking about something, Natasha could hear soccer in their conversation, but she did not care for that at all, she was so relieved that her father was finally laughing again, after so long, it made her smile.
She decided not to disturb them as she walked back to the kitchen to finish off dinner.
…
"You know, I totally agree with you Dom, 2005, was the year" said Larry as he laughed and Dom laughed as well.
"Hey you guys, what's so funny?" asked Natasha as she walked into the living room.
"Soccer" replied Dom.
"Oh really, care to share?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"Nothing much Tasha, Dom and I were just discussing the fails of our team so far" said Larry as Natasha shook her head.
"Of course, you both and your team, well I don't want to be like I told you so, but I always supported the Badgers from the start" said Natasha with a smug look on her face."
"And that's why we are rivals in soccer darling" said Larry as Natasha could not believe what her dad was saying right now, so much for family unity.
"Don't look at me Natasha, you sealed your fate when you decided to be a Badgers supporter" said Dom as Natasha scoffed.
"Anyway, traitors, dinner is ready, Dom are you staying for dinner?" asked Natasha as she looked at Dom.
"Oh I would love to, but I can't today" said Dom as he apologized.
"It's alright Dom" said Larry as he smiled.
"I have to go now, my mom must be back home by now" said Dom as he stood up.
"Alright Dom, goodnight" said Larry as he smiled.
"Don't be a stranger uncle Larry, or else…" said Dom.
"The strangler with get you" said Larry as he replied and he laughed.
"You know It uncle, you know it" said Dom as he laughed as well and Natasha scoffed.
"You both are annoying" said Natasha as she rolled her eyes.
"I think you are just jealous Natasha" said Dom.
"Me jealous? No way, I know that no one can ever take my place, right daddy?" asked Natasha as she looked at Larry.
"Tasha, of course" said Larry as he smiled.
"No fair, Natasha no fair" said Dom as he shook his head.
"Of come on, let me walk you out before you try to steal my father's love any further" said Natasha as she pushed Dom out and he laughed.
"Goodnight Uncle" shouted Dom as the sound of the front door opening and closing followed.
Outside was already very dark as the streetlights were on as Natasha and Dom walked.
"Thank you Dom" said Natasha as she looked at him.
"For what?" asked Dom as he looked at her.
"For my dad… making him smile, laugh, he hasn't laughed since the accident, I was starting to get worried" said Natasha.
"You don't have to thank me Natasha, I know that it must be hard for him to adjust" said Dom.
"I know, and I am so worried for him, he says that he's okay but… I don't believe him, he doesn't want to tell me how he really feels, and it bothers me, what if he's going through more pain, and I can't tell" said Natasha as she sighed.
"Relax Natasha, relax, your dad is fine, he is a strong man, and it's normal for him not to want to worry you" said Dom.
"But I want him to worry me, because I already worry, I want to help him, but he acts like he can do it all on his own, and I'm… it's… *Sigh*, it's hard to see him that way, it's obvious that he's in pain" said Natasha.
"Natasha, you just need to take it easy, it takes time… just give him time to think, and get used to all the changes, I am sure that he will open up then" said Dom.
"You really think so?" asked Natasha as she stopped walking.
"I know so, your father loves you, so much, you know that" said Dom as he stopped walking.
"Yes I know, and okay… fine… thank you again Dom" said Natasha as she smiled and Dom smiled at her.
"You know, I think we should stop seeing each other off, or else, we will keep on going in this back and forth" said Dom as Natasha realized what he was talking about as she laughed.
"Yes, I agree" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Good night Natasha" said Dom as he gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"Goodnight Dom" said Natasha as Dom smiled as he walked ahead and she turned back as she walked back to her house.
