Chapter 275 - Think that you did

"Tell me devochka (girl)" said Romanoff.

"When Vicki hit you, why didn't you retaliate?" asked Romanoff as that had been something that had been on his mind now for a while.

"I know the rules, and also that you will be punished if you break them, Vicki could do as she wanted to, but I did not want to get punished for indiscipline, I will not stoop to her level, so I let her do whatever she wanted, knowing fully well that according to the rules, she would be punished" said Natasha as she explained plainly.

"Hmm" replied Romanoff as that made sense, who told you that Natasha had no brains, she was very smart, very intelligent.

Romanoff smiled internally, now that was Larry speaking, he knew Larry well, but Larry did not know him, he knew that he was a law abiding disciplined man, who would never do anything illegal, Romanoff believed that the only time he had dabbled into something not technically legal, was when he helped Ivanka and the both of them ran away together, but apart from that, he knew that Larry was an upright responsible man, who raised a responsible daughter all on his own.

Now Romanoff started to see just how Natasha was a mixture of both of her parents, she might have looked like her mother a lot, but she thought like her father, with the occasional stubbornness, but apart from that, he could tell that she had good morals and values, instilled by her father, who raised her.

"I can see that you think like your father" said Romanoff.

"Well of course I do, he was a very honourable man… I grew up watching him, how he worked, how he talked, how he smiled" said Natasha as she smiled and she put down the empty plate on the table beside her.

"In contrast, It would be right to say that you are more fond of your father than mother" said Romanoff.

"I do admit that I was a daddy's girl, and I still am, to me, my dad is the best hero ever… he raised me on his own, he did his best to make sure that I did not lack anything at all, and he provided me with the best education that he could afford… all I wanted to do was make him proud" said Natasha as she smiled.

"And you don't think that you did?" asked Romanoff as Natasha kept quiet, that was a hard question for her, she felt like she had always been a good daughter, but things changed when she got married to Dom, her guilt, made her distance herself away from the best father she could ever have, and in the end she messed up big time, and it was only until she died and came back that she apologized to him, and even then, she did not have enough time with him, because he was killed.

"I don't want to talk about that… let's just stay that there were things that I wanted to share with him before he died, or dare I say, was killed" said Natasha as Romanoff just looked at her, he did not know why, but he sensed that what she was talking about had to do with her daughter.

"Hmm, your father, he never remarried right?" asked Romanoff.

"Never" said Natasha as she shook her head.

"Why do you think so?" asked Romanoff.

"I think he never truly stopped loving my mother, and he wanted to focus on me… I always wanted him to be happy, at one point, when I was a teenager, I wanted him to get someone, he was lonely, I could see it, but he told me that he was happy with me alone, and that he did not need to find another woman, because he still loved my mother, so much" said Natasha as Romanoff smiled.

"You know, I always wanted the kind of love that my parents had, even though I didn't see it through most of my childhood, but the way my father always spoke about my mother with so much love, admiration… I admired that so much" said Natasha.

"You never had someone who loved you that way?" asked Romanoff as Natasha kept quiet, she got the worst, she and Dom were a different story, they only had one month of peace till all the craziness started, and well, she was just tired, true love, she had never experienced that before.

"Your gun, it doesn't use normal bullets does it now?" asked Natasha as she looked at Romanoff's gun as Romanoff knew that she changed the subject on purpose.

"Well no, its bullets are special, one of a kind, I get them specially made" said Romanoff.

"Cool" said Natasha.

"Can I?" asked Natasha.

"Go ahead" said Romanoff as Natasha picked up Romanoff gun, she found it very cool, she was always very interested In guns.

"Careful, the trigger is gentle" said Romanoff as Natasha put the gun back down.

"You and Igor… you are not in good terms?" asked Natasha.

"I loathe him, he is someone not to be trusted" said Romanoff.

"Hmm" replied Natasha.

"Well now devochka (girl) it is getting late, let's get you back to the base" said Romanoff as he stood up and Natasha nodded her head as she stood up and followed after him.

Natasha sighed as she walked back into her room and she closed the door behind her, well now she had everything confirmed, Igor was the bad guy and Romanoff was the good guy in this sense, now all she had to do was find a way to make Igor pay for what he did, she would find a way.

"You all might be wondering what we are doing today" said Romanoff as he smiled and he looked at them as they were all in line.

"We are going to play a game today" said Romanoff with a smile.

"A game?" asked everyone amongst themselves as they did not understand.

"Yes, a game" said Romanoff.

"I am sure that you all have heard of the American game called laser tag" said Romanoff as he smiled and they nodded their heads.

"Well what we are doing is just like that, except for the fact that we are playing it the Russian way, without flashy lights, but real gun, like real men and women" said Romanoff as a man brough a crate with air guns as he handed them to every single one of them one by one as they all looked at the guns.

"You all have your bulletproof vests, you have your guns, and you have your teammates" said Romanoff.

"For this task, the aim of the game is to escape the maze, with your teammate, without getting hit, you get shot, you are out, so guide and keep yourself" said Romanoff as he smiled.

"Are you all ready?" asked Romanoff.

"Yes Commander" they said as they nodded their heads.

"Good, now follow me" said Romanoff as he walked ahead and they all followed after him.

"What's the plan?" asked Alexi as he looked at Natasha as he and her were standing behind a wall in a very dark area.

"Try not to get shot and get out of here" said Natasha as she loaded her gun, she was still scared of getting shot, so much so that she was determined not to get shot.

"You want me to cover you?" asked Alexi as he knew that Natasha was afraid of getting shot, which was why he was surprised that she would agree to do this with no hesitation or look of fear at all.

"No, take care of yourself, and I will take care of myself" said Natasha as she looked at him.

"Let me see the map" said Natasha as Alexi handed her the map.

"We are here, and the exit is all the way over there, the fastest route to get to the exit, would be through here" said Natasha as she pointed to the left.

"But that also happens to be where the team with the most people are situated, which are Kira, Vicki and Rodion" said Natasha.

"Don't tell me that you want to go through there?" asked Alexi as he looked at Natasha.

"It is better for us to deal with three people closer to the exit, than with many people who could shoot us quickly" said Natasha as that was a yes, that was the only sensible exit to go through.

"Even if that is true, what makes you so sure that the others won't have the same idea you have, and we will all end up meeting there?" asked Alexi.

"Well I doubt that, Tatiana and Artem are over here, blocking Olga and Nikolai, and the others are blocked as well, it's more like we are all standing in each other's way, before they can even get to where Kira and her team are, they have to deal with whoever is in their way" said Natasha as a sound began to beep as the lights in the room started to dim and bright up repeatedly.

"Enough talking, we don't have much time" said Natasha as she put the map away.

"1…" came Romanoff's voice from a speaker as he spoke into a microphone.

"2…" he said with a dramatic pause.

"3" he said as the loud sound of a airhorn blew and the lights dimmed that it was hard to see your surroundings.

"Good luck to you all" said Romanoff with a smile, now this was more his style of training.
