One week later.
"Sir, you have a meeting with engineer Falcon at 3pm" said the Secretary as she looked through the schedule.
"Alright, is it urgent?" asked Dom as he looked up from his laptop for a second.
"Very urgent Sir, you need to meet with him to discuss the plans of the renovation and when they can start" said the Secretary as she explained.
"You have already pushed it off twice, and I am sure Engineer Falcon would be upset if you do so again" said the Secretary.
"Alright, cancel my five o'clock meeting and move the two o'clock meeting to early tomorrow morning" said Dom as he needed to reschedule some things in order for him to have allowance to meet with Engineer Falcon.
"Alright sir, consider it done" said the Secretary.
"If I may make a suggestion" said the Secretary.
"Go ahead" said Dom as he replied to an email.
"Sir, I would advice that you move your ten o'clock staff meeting to nine o'clock, seeing as those meetings take more than an hour at most times, if you do that, then that was, you would be able to work and go pick Joy from school and return in time for your meeting with Engineer Falcon" said the Secretary as she explained.
"Alright, that is a good idea, please make all those changes you suggested, and thank you" said Dom as he smiled.
"You are welcome Sir" said the Secretary as she smiled.
"Anyway, has the budget for the renovations been approved yet?" asked Dom as he closed his laptop.
"Ahh well not yet Sir, HR is still reviewing it, and there seems to be a problem with the production team, they disagree, but the budget has been sent out, and all that remains if your signature, and your father's signature" said the Secretary.
"Alright, and what exactly is the production team's disagreement on?" asked Dom.
"Well sir, they believe that doing this renovation at this time would cause the company to loose money, and well HR believes that employees would not be happy, and even though we have addressed their concern it's still there" said the Secretary.
"And that is why the staff meeting we are having today is mandatory" said Dom as he sighed, he had been doing this for five years now, and well, problems were bound to arise within the business itself, sometimes disagreements were within the company and not outside it.
"Send out a memo to everyone now, everyone must be present, I will not take any excuses for absence" said Dom.
"Yes Sir" said the Secretary as she nodded her head.
"You may go now" said Dom.
"Alright Sir" said the Secretary as she nodded her head and she walked out of his office, he had another busy day today, he was wondering how Natasha was doing, he hoped that she was well, but he would go and check on her once he picked Joy up from school.
…
"Ahh Madam" said Amalia as she called out to Natasha as she saw her walking by.
"Hello Amalia" said Natasha as she stopped walking and she turned to look at Amalia.
"Madam, I heard about your father's passing, I am so sorry" said Amalia.
"Thank you Amalia" said Natasha as she smiled.
"How have you been?" asked Amalia.
"I have been getting better day by day, thank you for asking" said Natasha as she smiled.
"You are welcome Madam" said Amalia as she smiled.
"Ahh, let me get back to work now Madam" said Amalia as she smiled.
"Alright then, take care" said Natasha as she smiled.
"I will Madam, and the same to you" said Amalia as she smiled and Natasha smiled at her as she walked away to her office.
Natasha opened the door to her office, and she sighed, she had not been here in a week, but she believed that she had grieved enough, and now it was time for her to get back to work, her father would have liked for her to do that, because in the end, he always told her to look towards the future, and that was what she was going to do.
For the past seven days, she had done nothing at all, she had just laid in bed thinking, she did not even cry anymore, she just laid there thinking, thinking on her life, and what she had achieved so far but she still felt like she was still so far, and her father's death affected her so much.
Natasha walked to her desk as she sat down and she opened her laptop, Chloe had been so helpful as to handle everything within the company on her behalf, and Natasha really appreciated that, but she felt bad for leaving her all alone to handle everything, they had a pending architectural project pending and that was very important, there were some budgets she had to go through among some other things.
"Alright Nat, you can do this" said Natasha to herself as she sighed and she opened an email, it was from a client that wanted to purchase fresh produce, and they had just placed an order, but they were yet to receive an email in reply to their order.
"That's weird, isn't Mandy supposed to be in charge of emails?" asked Natasha to herself, as she found this odd, Mandy was also in charge of overseeing all the emails, and as far as she knew Chloe did not call her to inform her that Mandy had taken her leave, so for the client not to receive a reply, it was very odd.
Natasha sighed, luckily she just received this email early this morning, so she could solve it immediately, Natasha began typing an apology and a way forward for the client to place the order, and once Natasha was satisfied with what she had typed she sent the email and in that same moment a cheerful, happy voice ran into her office.
"Mommy!!!" said Joy as she ran into Natasha's office.
"Oh hello my baby" said Natasha as the serious look on her face disappeared in an instant and it was replaced with smiles.
"How was your day my baby?" asked Natasha as she stood up and she picked up Joy as Dom walked into her office with a smile as he followed after Joy.
"It was very good Mommy, we learnt how to count from one to one hundred" said Joy as she giggled.
"Oh that sounds nice my baby" said Natasha as she smiled and she pinched Joy's nose, it would seem that Joy loved to spend time at her Grandparents house because she was more smiles than usual ever since she came back last weekend.
"How are you doing?" asked Dom as he smiled and Natasha looked at him.
"Good" said Natasha as she smiled, but her smile was not friendly at all, quite frankly she was tired of people asking her how she was doing, it was obvious that she was still adjusting.
"That's good" said Dom.
"My baby, go remove your school uniform, and then we can eat lunch together okay?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"Okay mommy" said Joy as she smiled.
"Daddy, are you going to eat lunch with us?" asked Joy as she turned to look at Dom.
"Well no my princess, I have an important meeting, and I am leaving soon" said Dom as he smiled.
"Oh, okay daddy" said Joy as she smiled and she looked back at her mother.
"Go to you room now and change my baby" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Okay mommy" said Joy as she giggled.
"Good girl" said Natasha as she smiled and she put Joy down as Joy ran to her room, leaving Dom and Natasha alone in her office.
Natasha sighed as she went to sit down at her desk, while Dom was just standing there, as if he was waiting for something.
"Madam, I am sorry to disturb you, but you have a letter" said Alfred as he walked into Natasha's office.
"Oh hello Young Master, I did not know that you had returned" said Alfred as he smiled and Dom smiled at him.
"That's alright Alfred, just leave the letter on my desk" said Natasha.
"Alright Madam" said Alfred as he placed the letter on Natasha's desk.
"Thank you Alfred" said Natasha as she smiled at him.
"You are welcome Madam" said Alfred as he smiled and he walked out of her office, leaving Dom and Natasha there once again.
Natasha was not even going to talk to him, he could stand there if he wished to do so, Natasha just took the letter off her table and she opened the envelop as she read the letter.
"Oh… it's the invitation to Grandfather's birthday, I completely forgot" said Natasha as she sighed and she face-palmed herself, she had been too deep in her sorrow to remember Grandfather's birthday, it was next week Saturday.
"Are you going?" asked Dom as his question snapped Natasha out of her thoughts.
"Of course I am, it's his 80th birthday, I cannot miss it, he would want me to be there" said Natasha as she sighed.
"But are you sure that you want to go? There will be a lot of people there" said Dom as he knew that Natasha still was not well.
"I am only mourning, I am not weak, of course I am going" said Natasha, Grandfather would want her to be there, and he owed this to him.
"Alright then" said Dom as she was sure that she wanted to go.
"Don't your have somewhere else to be?" asked Natasha as she looked at Dom, she felt like Dom had been hovering around her like a fly.
"I actually do, so take care" said Dom as he turned around and he walked away, he knew that she was hinting at the fact that he was annoying to her.
