[Andrew Alex's perspective.]
When I saw the flustered and bewildered expression on the little girl's face, I didn't know why, but I was in a great mood.
After taking down the Burgert family and finding her whom I had been longing for day and night, today would definitely be a good day. I thought rather happily. Yuna looked as if she was about to be forced out of breath by me. I did not want to force her too much, so I pulled some distance back, picked up the cup beside her, and handed it to her,
"Drink some water."
"Thank you, sir."
Yuna took it and took small sips.
She looked a little better. When she lowered her head, her hair almost covered half of her face. My gosh, her face was so small, but her lips were so full. The contradictory qualities of purity and sexiness were almost perfectly fused in her body. She's a natural beauty!
I rang the bell for the nurses to come in. The doctor said before that as long as she wakes up, her body will be fine.
However, just in case, it's better to let them do a detailed check-up.
Yuna obediently let the medical staff fiddle with her, but her calm eyes were filled with messy thoughts. I could see what she was thinking, but since I had caught the prey, I have no reason to let her escape again.
"Sir, this lady is fine now. She can be discharged from the hospital at any time. However, for the sake of her health, I suggest that she recuperate for a week before leaving the hospital."
I nodded, and the medical staff tactfully left.
Yuna's gaze finally landed on me. I sat at the side, quietly waiting for her to speak. In other words, the prey had walked right into the trap.
"Sir... Mr. Alex, I... I want to know what's going on?"
I did not say a word.
Silence put pressure on her. This was a common tactic used in negotiations. The one who spoke first would be the loser. The silence created anxiety, and anxiety created flaws. As long as you had the psychological advantage, the opponent would be unable to control themselves and reveal their bargaining chip bit by bit until they had no cards to play. Yuna obviously did not understand these things, but I like her simple and inexperienced appearance.
She said impatiently, "I don't know anything, Mr. Alex. I'm not a threat to you, nor am I of any value. I'm just a normal girl. Can I leave, please?"
"Oh? You just said that I killed your whole family, and now you want me to let you go to seek revenge in the future?"
"I... It was a misunderstanding, sir. It was just a misunderstanding!"
I looked at her trying to show her sincerity and felt that she was more interesting than I had imagined.
"You can explain."
I sat there calmly and added, "However, since you know that I'm King, you must know how the Mafia deals with liars."
I pulled a long face and lowered my voice, appreciating her frightened expression. I did not mean to scare her, but she was not being honest with me.
"It's a misunderstanding! "I didn't grow up in the Burgert family. I have a few relatives in name, but they don't treat me well. I definitely won't seek revenge from you. I just want to go back and find my mother. She's the only person in the world who treats me well. I'll still be grateful to you for killing those people for me. I won't hurt you!"
As she spoke, there seemed to be tears in Yuna's eyes. When matched with her delicate and pitiful expression, it was truly heartbreaking. I almost could not maintain my serious expression. I wanted to reach out and hug her, but I immediately restrained myself.
The mother Yuna mentioned should be Jason's mistress. After so many years, it was very likely that she had already died. Moreover, with Jason's cold and merciless personality, he might even kill her when he found her.
As for Yuna, how could she find her mother? If she really had some tricks up her sleeve, she would not have ended up like this all these years in the Burgert family. She just wanted to find an excuse to leave.
"Leave?" I thought for a moment before speaking slowly,
"As far as I know, the head of the Burgert family, Jason, has three sons and a daughter. The bodies of those three sons have already been found. Only Miss Burgert is missing. I'm very anxious to find her."
Yuna's face turned pale. I did not know what she had thought of, but she said hurriedly, "I, I don't know."
"You don't know?"
"Yes..."
"You mean that you don't know Miss Burgert? Then have you heard of the name Yuna?"
I was not surprised to see the last bit of color on Yuna's face disappear.
"No, I haven't heard of her."
I raised my eyebrows and shouted, "Glen, come in."
"King."
"Where are the rest of the people in Burgert Manor?"
"They are still locked up in the villa."
"This lady said she doesn't know Miss Burgert's whereabouts. I think we made a mistake." I lowered my head and rubbed my silver pistol, "Why don't we ask those people in the villa again? Is there a misunderstanding?"
Glen raised his head in confusion. He looked at Yuna and then at me.
I only used my finger to trace the pattern of King on the pistol. I knew that Glen understood what I meant.
"Understood, sir."
