Hot tears flowed down Michael's face. He looked down at Emily, wishing he was dreaming. He tried to convince himself that she was just asleep and that she would wake up soon, but the blood oozing from her neck was enough to tell him that she wasn't sleeping.
"She's part phoenix; she'll awaken." He held his hopes high as he tried to solace himself. He wiped his face with his hands and lifted her off the ground.
"Where are you taking her?" Giselle asked in a tremulous tone as he started walking away. She sniffed her nose, and Michael realized she had been crying the whole time.
"Home." Michael replied. His gaze was fixed on the road as he kept walking further.
As they walked to Emily's house, Elsa frowned, noticing Sydney's facial expression. He didn't look woeful, he looked rather exultant. Elsa watched him suspiciously. His thrillingness baffled her.
When they got to Emily's house, Giselle knocked on the door. But Michael didn't wait, he barged in, startling Richard, who was seated on the couch. He froze as his eyes darted to Emily in Michael's arms. He rushed to them and hurriedly took her from Michael and laid her on the couch he stood up from. "Rebecca!" he yelled, as he placed Emily on the couch.
"I've told you to stop yelling my name like-" Rebecca descended the stairs. She held her words in her mouth as she saw the people in her living room.
She stopped midway and observed what was going on there. She screamed when her eyes caught Emily. She rushed down to them and asked, "Who did this to her?"
Michael kept mute. He looked down apprehensively, trying to put some words together even if she wasn't directing the question to him in particular.
Sydney noticed Michael's uneasiness and answered Rebecca, "She was killed by a werewolf."
"She's going to wake up, right?" Jacob asked, and they all looked at Rebecca. They hoped she would give them the answers they wanted to hear.
Rebecca closed her eyes, kneeling before her daughter's lifeless body as uninterrupted tears flowed from her eyes.
From the way Rebecca was acting, they already had a bad feeling about what she was going to tell them.
"She might not wake up; her phoenix is too weak to regenerate." Rebecca's words left them speechless, turning their faces blue.
Richard stood up in fury. He raked his hands through his brownish hair. "Look what you've caused, Rebecca. I told you to stop weakening her. If you had listened to me sooner, this wouldn't have happened." Richard hollered at Rebecca, who just kept on crying audibly.
"No," Giselle shook her head, "She's going to come back." Tears formed in her eyes.
Michael clenched his fist, his eyes flashed green, and his face immediately turned sour. He turned around and stormed out of the house.
"Where are you going?" Elsa asked, rushing after him. Jacob and Sydney went after Michael, but Giselle didn't. She stayed behind. Herr knees collided with the ground. She lowered her face and wept silently.
"Where are you going?" Elsa asked again, as Michael didn't answer her the first time.
Michael accelerated, leaving Elsa without an answer to her question. Sydney ran after Michael and Jacob popped out wings and attempted to follow, but Elsa grabbed him and said, "Take me along." Without further delay, he grabbed her and flapped his wings as he launched into the air.
They trailed behind Michael and Sydney. As Sydney ran, they watched him. They were amazed by his speed.
"Do you think Sydney is a werewolf?" Elsa asked.
"I know he's a werewolf." Jacob replied.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm part werewolf. I can smell him. He is a werewolf. Do you think he's something else? " Jacob asked.
"No... just curious." Elsa answered.
When Jacob saw them stop, he dived towards the ground and, unable to stop his wings immediately, he crashed into the ground with Elsa.
"Ow!" Elsa yelled.
"Sorry, I'm not an expert on that yet." He stood up and held out his hand to her. Elsa rolled her eyes and took his hands. He pulled her to her feet, and they both turned to Chris, who had just walked out of a building.
"I knew you'd come. I was waiting for you, actually." Chris said.
Thunder rumbled, accompanied by lightning. A heavy wind started. It was so strong that they squinted their eyes to see.
"Why did you do it?" Michael asked.
"I told you, you aren't allowed to feel good while I agonize on every full moon, thanks to you. Relax, Emily is a phoenix too, isn't she? She'll come back to life. " Chris continued with a holler because he couldn't even hear himself any longer as the wind blew aimlessly.
"She'll not; her phoenix is too weak to bring her back to life." Chris's face turned gloomy at Michael's words. "And I'm going to make you pay." As Michael continued, his eyes shone green. He accelerated towards Chris and punched him in the face, which caused him to stagger against the wall.
Michael waited for Chris to straighten up. "You told me I'm too weak to kill you, you're so wrong." His fingers slowly turned into claws. He rushed to Chris and attempted to claw his chest, but Chris quickly moved aside, and Michael's claws scratched roughly against the wall.
A drizzle began, which later turned into a thunderstorm.
Chris wiped the blood off his lips with the back of his palm, and turned to Michael. "You know what? I don't feel any remorse at all, and if you step towards me, I'll make sure I tear you limb by limb. "
"I'm looking forward to that." Michael sped to Chris, his fist thrusting past Chris's face with a rushing gust of wind, so fast that Chris barely saw it coming.
Chris kicked Michael's face with a backflip, causing him to stagger backwards. He felt sharp pains in his nostrils and liquid streamed down his nose, which he wiped with his palm and examined.
When he saw the blood, he couldn't contain the rage that boiled inside of him. He growled, accelerating towards Chris. He flung himself into the air and landed with his claws scrattling Chris's torso.
Chris punched Michael a couple of times. Then he clawed at Michael with both his claws, shredding the shirt he had on.
Michael growled, he grabbed Chris by the shoulders and kneed him a few times in the stomach, pushing him violently to the ground. He stood over Chris, his lip curving into a smirk as Chris groaned, struggling to stand up. He grabbed Chris by the collar and threw him against the wall.
"This is a familiar situation." Michael strode up to Chris. "The difference is, you're in my position and I'm in yours. So, tell me, how does it feel?" He asked.
Sydney noticed Michael's glowing green eyes and was taken aback. He frowned, not believing what he saw. "Michael, that's enough." He yelled, not making a move from his position.
"It's far from that." Michael approached Chris and yanked him to his feet. He attempted to punch Chris, but Chris was quick to catch his fist. He spun it, sending Michael to the ground in a back flip.
He pressed his foot tightly against Michael's neck. Michael groaned lowly. He grabbed Chris's foot and, with great strength, he twisted it, fracturing Chris's ankle. Chris rotated through the air before collapsing to the ground. Screaming as he tried to stand, he fell back to the ground.
Michael stood up and stumbled towards Chris. He pulled out a silver dagger from his boot that glistened as the rain drops fell on it, making it look deadly-sharp. He stood over Chris and raised the dagger above his head.
"He's going to kill him." Elsa yelled, as worry and fear crept up on her.
Jacob quickly sped to Michael and threw him off of Chris. Michael fell to the ground, his grip loosened on the dagger, and it fell not too far away from him.
He stood up and walked towards Jacob, who stood opposite him. Michael crossed the distance between them and refused to stop walking, so Jacob pushed him backwards.
"Get out of my way." Michael growled, attempting to walk past Jacob.
"I understand how you feel right now, but killing Chris wouldn't bring Emily back."
"I know," Michael nodded. "But it will stop anybody else from getting hurt, and don't try to stop me again." Michael walked further, but Jacob blocked him again.
Michael didn't waste any further time before he attacked Jacob. He reached for the dagger and stabbed Jacob in the heart with the silver dagger after a quick fight. Jacob held Michael's shoulder with one hand, the other finding its way to his chest as he felt the region where the dagger was stuck in. He lowered his gaze to the dagger embedded deep within his thorax.
Michael pulled out the dagger and Jacob staggered against him. Blood rushed out of his stomach, and he got soaked in blood. He fell to the ground, making the rain water on the ground around him turn a bloodlike colour.
"No!" Elsa yelled. Sydney attempted to attack Michael, but Elsa stopped him and told him to step aside.
She was going to do dark magic, the one her father had warned her not to do. She wasn't just going to stand there and watch her friends die. Her father had told her what would happen if she did dark magic, so she knew that what she was about to do would cause a lot of harm to her and she was scared, but she thought of what would happen if she didn't. Michael went wild immediately he realised Emily might be unable to come back to life and was so determined to kill Chris, and she was the only one who could stop him. She took a deep breath and exhaled, her breath breaking all the way.
She walked towards Michael and Chris. She stopped when she was not too far from them. She stretched out her arms and screamed, sending dark magic towards them. It banged against them and Michael's head spun. He tried to keep his eyes open, but he failed, as he collapsed to the ground. Chris also went unconscious, and Elsa staggered, breathing heavily.
Sydney rushed to her, but wasn't quick enough, as she went crashing into the wet ground, splashing the water as her body hit against it.
