Theresa had been exploring different areas in Bethode, the city in which they resided, in the east of Country M.
She had come across towns that had so many castle-like houses, *I guess this is the neighborhood for only the elite * she thought, and also came across towns, no better than living on the streets, their living conditions were bad, very bad and Theresa decided to situate the clinic there, she might not be able to help with everything but she can at least take care of their health right.
After a successful day of work, she glanced at her watch and realized that she had been on the search for seven hours.
"Oh shoot, Sarah, must have called a dozen times, I have to get back to the hotel," Theresa thought out loud, fishing out her subway card.
She might have been *a rich girl* but she was a mischievous child and liked to enjoy and experience different lifestyles, so she was used to buses and trains, sometimes if not too far she would walk to her destination.
Right now Theresa was in the elevator trying to find her room card, she was so engrossed in it that she didn't notice the elevator open or the person who got into the elevator.
*Thud* her phone fell and the person in the elevator helped her pick it up.
"Here," he said giving her the phone
"Oh thanks," Theresa said before her heart skipped a bit when she remembered she was the only one in the lift. Startled, she leaned on the wall to balance herself before looking up
"Did I startle you?" the man asked
"Yes, yes you did... but it's okay, it's not your fault, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings," Theresa said trying to ease the tension
"Here have some, it seems like you need it," the man said to her giving her the bottle of water he was holding.
*What's wrong with her? Does she suffer from hyperekplexia? She looks like she lost her balance and forgot how to breathe for a moment there* he thought looking at how red she had become and how wobbly her stance was
"Thanks," Theresa, said giving back the bottle and taking a closer look at the man "Mr. Harris"
"Hi, Theresa, can I call you that? , I'm not in a suit so please can you drop the *Mr* people might think I'm an old man"
"Hahaha, okay Nathaniel," Theresa said as she giggled and her mood was brightening up
"Do you live here?" Theresa asked seeing how casual he was dressed and with a bag of groceries in his hand
"For the next two weeks, yes" Nathaniel replied "What were you so engrossed with a while ago if I may ask?"
"I can't find my room card," she said still rummaging through her bag.
"I think I left it in the hotel cafeteria when I ate dinner,"
"Is that so?, Why don't you go ask for a spare and ask the security to find the other card?" Nathaniel said
"Okay, I'll do that" Theresa said as she leaned on the wall again waiting for Nathaniel to reach his floor so she can go back down.
"Aren't you going to press the button?" Nathaniel asked
"I'm waiting for you to get out, first. I see you're going to the 7th floor? What a coincidence my suite is also on the 7th floor "
"Room 305," Nathaniel said.
"Room 307" Theresa replied
The elevator opens with a *DING* sound
"Going luck then," Nathaniel said
"Thanks, bye" Theresa replied as the elevator doors close
Back at the reception
"Ma'am, we're sorry but the spare key had been requested by your sister earlier today, she said she might come late and didn't want to bother you," the receptionist said
"Is that so? Well, any news on the card?" Theresa asked to have the receptionist shake her head disappointedly.
"Okay, well please can I get a charger, my phone's dead," Theresa asked
"Sure, let me get you one, what's the brand..."
Theresa was in the lounge listening to the voicemail Sarah had sent to her a few hours ago
*Hey big sis, we arrived at bunny's place late and I'm too tired, I am going to spend the night here okay. Sooo... Don't waste this chance to go out clubbing and have fun, you can even bring a *friend* home. Don't worry I won't tell, hahaha*
"This crazy girl, what *friend*?" Theresa said feeling embarrassed by Sarah's teasing
"Are you okay?" Nathaniel said from behind her making Theresa jump to her feet startled
Panting, with her hand on her chest she said "You really need a bell on you, you have a habit of coming out of nowhere"
"Well, did you get the card?" Nathaniel asked brushing her off
"No, my sister took it earlier today, saying she might come back late and doesn't want to disturb my sleep, but I just got a voicemail from her saying she's not coming at all" Theresa said frustrated, she was really tired from walking all day and just wanted to take a warm bath and relax, even if she can't sleep. *Is that too much to ask?* she lamented in her mind
"Oh, so what's your plan?" Nathaniel asked
"Not sure, I've tried making reservations in the hotels which are nearby but all are fully booked and I can't reach my godparents or sister, so I'm technically stranded," Theresa said pouting
"I see?" Nathaniel said with a look of reason
"Why are you down here anyway," she asked
"Wanted to get some brownies" Nathaniel replied
"Hmmm"
"Why don't you try calling your godfather again, then we'll think of what to do " Nathaniel suggested
"Okay," Theresa nodded and ringed Klaus's phone again, and fortunately this time he picked up.
"Oh, thank God bunny" Theresa exclaimed after talking to Klaus for a bit and explaining to him what she encountered, she passed the phone to Nathaniel
"Uncle Klaus wants to talk to you," Theresa said giving him the phone, Nathaniel took it and they started talking.
About ten minutes later Nathaniel gives her back the phone
"Yeah bunny," Theresa said answering the call while Nathaniel choked on his laugh after hearing Theresa call Klaus bunny
Over the phone, Klaus tells Theresa to stay with Nathaniel for the night
"Princess it's really late and it's a two to three hours drive from there to here, it's not safe and I know you're tired so just let him accommodate you, he has given me his word to take care of you, if anything happens just tell me tomorrow I'll make sure to teach him a lesson" Klaus's voice was heard through the phone
"Are you sure bunny..." Theresa asked him and they talk for an additional five minutes before hanging up.
"Nathaniel my uncle..."Theresa said as she was turning around only to see Nathaniel with her backpack
"Shall we?" He said pointing toward the elevator and Theresa nodded and mumbles a thanks
"Hmmm" Was all he said
