Monette smirked. "You saw what Iris did to me. You don't have to check on me to know that I received a wound and needed help—financial and other things."
"Financial?" He chuckled, amused.
"Yes, I need money to get out of this prison!" She snapped at him, using the same word that Elvira used to call the mansion. She did not consider the mansion a prison. She grew up in the place. It's her home. Her father owned the mansion, and that what was she knew growing up until Calixto appeared and ruined everything she knew.
"Too bad for you miss. I don't have the money or the need to own some, and in regards to your prison, you have to discuss the matter with your jailer."
Monette curled the corner of her lips, returning Mariano's smirk. "And what are you to my jailer?"
Mariano raised his brow. "I'm his employee."
"Then you have money because you're getting paid," she said, childishly sticking her tongue at him.
