"Do you think we can stop somewhere to buy more snacks?" She asked, shoving another bag of potato chips inside the cloth bag she was using to carry all the snacks that she gathered from the kitchen.
"We didn't have much left here," she said, walking to the living room and stopping in her tracks. The bag of snacks fell with a loud thud on her feet. Her jaw dropped open when she saw the man who was sitting in the place where Mariano was sitting down.
Her eyes scanned the room in panic and she exhaled a soft breath when she saw Mariano lying on his side on the floor, under the feet of Talon who had the audacity to smile at her in a friendly manner as though he did not hurt her bodyguard.
"Don't worry Iris. He's still alive. I didn't do anything that would leave you unprotected on your way home."
"What are you doing here and how did you get in?"
