"Martian," she sighed against Mariano's lips when he lifted his mouth from hers to take in some oxygen to breathe.
"Marcotte, what happened to you? Why are you looking like this?" He asked, running his index finger on her cheek.
Granny blinked her eyes rapidly as if she woken up from a dream and pushed Mariano away.
She scoffed. "And you're Mariano now? Acting like a thug. What happened to Martian the great hunter, son of Elrod?" She asked, mockingly.
"Time doesn't wait for anybody. I could not be Martian, the great hunter until this new era," he chuckled wryly as though he remembered something ironically funny.
"Well, I'm still a hunter. But no longer the great hunter. After all, I am just a Bitten."
Granny looked at Mariano long and hard.
"And who bit you and turned you into our kind?" She asked in a cold tone of voice.
Mariano scoffed and shook his head. "You know that I can't tell you who turned me."
