Chapter 23 - First Phase Scenario [3]

Kanzen jumped from building to building, avoiding the chaotically crowded streets that filled with dozens to hundreds of corrupted mana zombies moving around without any apparent destination.

On the other hand, Aisha followed him fluttering majestically in the air, not bothering to comment on the chaotic scene happening all around.

Two minute passed of jumping around building to building, Kanzen finally arrived to the nearest crashed site, where a small size meteorite landed.

While this one seemed to be far smaller if it were to be compared to those humorously terrifying one's, the site it crashed onto in way too devastated.

"What a sight…"

Looking around, he could see some freshly burned to crisp corpses and puddles of blood sipping out from some debris.

There's no need to comment on what had happened to those supposed people living in this building.

He just gazed at the terribly cruel scene with an indifferent unbothered expression.

The same goes for Aisha behind Kanzen observing the surroundings ignoring the terrible scene in front.

The two had seen far worse scenes compare to this, and they themselves were sometimes the perpetrators of far more terrible things.

Her focus is onto the round blazing fiery orb, a complicated expression plastered on her face.

Some distant memories started to run rampant in her mind, bothering her a bit.

"What is that?"

Kanzen unconsciously asked, his gaze directed to the same thing Aisha was looking at.

Crack….

A strange sound rang as the blazing fiery orb seemed to show signs of splitting apart.

"This… is…?"

He said as he focused his entire attention to the blazing fiery orb.

He could feel as if something is trying to crawl its way out of it.

"Egg…?"

Realizing this, Kanzen quickly jump back from his previous position, distancing himself a few meters back in caution.

Suddenly, from the splitting blazing fiery orb, burst out a humanoid two-meter six leg ugly gray skinned abomination.

Seeing the ugly abomination, Kanzen's expression hardened, a frown present on his face, yet his eyes say the opposite, as a bright shine escape his eyes.

He felt conflicted realizing that this already dangerous world turned out becoming more dangerous.

But on the other hand, his subconscious is celebrating to the point that it wanted a party, after realizing that more powerful and stronger opponents that might challenge him would begin popping out just like the abomination present.

The abomination looked around and as it saw the human observing it at a near distance its eyes brighten up.

The abomination immediately rush forward towards the human in a speed comparable to how Kanzen moved around like that of the wind slaughtering every corrupted mana zombies in sight.

Saliva dripped from the creature's strange circular shaped mouth, obviously intoxicated and hungry as it wanted to devour the human in front of it.

Seeing that the human did not bother to move to either fight or run, the abomination thought that the human is frozen still afraid because of its presence.

But as it near a 20-meter distance, out of nowhere a streak of thin white light appeared and disappeared in a moment of an instant.

The same goes for the human in front of it moments ago as it also disappeared and is nowhere to be seen.

The abomination tried to look around in search for the food that disappear, but for some reason it's body didn't seem to listen to it's command.

Then out of nowhere, it felt a stringing pain on its neck, and before the abomination could know what had just happened, its head fell onto the ground lifeless it didn't even know that it died.

TSK…!

"That bastard isn't even strong enough to challenge my finger, yet it dare to look at me like how one looked at food with those ugly eyes of his."

Kanzen grunted as he appeared beside the corpse of the dead abomination, kicking its lifeless body mercilessly.

The body slammed to a nearby broken wall resulting for the wall to completely crumble.

Then out of nowhere, a loud clamor of shrill screams filled Kanzen's ears.

He looked behind, and he saw dozens of monsters appearing from the other craters formed by the meteor's impact.

He also saw some people wielding various weapons and were attacking the monsters, trying to fight back for their pitiful lives.

Though some people luckily succeeded in hunting a monster down.

Unfortunately, they inevitably died due to the sheer power of another monster that appeared after they hunt their enemy; they were too exhausted after fighting one, so their ending is expected.

Not to forget, the newly appearing monsters wasn't the only danger present, there's also the hundreds of zombies rushing over after being attracted by the commotion that occurred.

The scene in front of Kanzen is far too chaotic to be described, humans, zombies, and monsters fighting each other trying to overpower the other to survive and triumph.

"You're not going to help them?"

Aisha asked behind Kanzen.

He looked at her in the eyes for a second that made her flinch before replying.

"While I am neither a hero nor a saint, it isn't impossible for me to help."

"Unfortunately, helping them in this kind of situation isn't too good for the long run, it's not beneficial and if they were to receive my help this time. They'll just continue to rely on me time to time becoming a burden, they wouldn't work themselves to push farther to improve their lives, they'll be nothing but parasites in my eyes."

"I don't know about your race, but human's is a type of race that tends to rely on someone or use others for their own benefits."

"While they might felt gratitude after receiving my help that gratitude wouldn't last long, human's didn't really like to be someone else servant or follower."

"So, helping them while their mindset is still in hope that things would return back how it was is a disadvantageous thing for me."

"If they couldn't withstand this simple hurdle in their lives, I am certain that in the end they'll just die one day maybe tomorrow or maybe next minute if I were to help them now."

"Humans kill pigs, cows, chickens, and many other species in Earth, treating them as nothing but livestock to be consumed."

"This scenario is natural as this what should an apex predator do, but now that the things turned chaotic and humans might not be the apex predators anymore. Humans needed to improve and evolved to one day regain their reign over this planet to not go extinct."

Hearing Kanzen's long and quite reasonable reasoning speech on why he didn't bother to help the struggling being slaughtered humans in front, Aisha could only shrug with a nod.

She realized that the man she had to guide isn't just a genius that surpassed her or a powerful narcissist moron but also an intellectual open-minded guy who see things in a far more profound understanding.
