Chereads / Grant's Mate / Chapter 9 - 9

Chapter 9 - 9

Lewisham Police Station, located on a side street in the South East London area, is one of the largest police stations in Europe. The building had more than two floors, with the exterior walls painted red.

Selena parked her white sedan in the office parking lot. She bought the vehicle two years ago using a loan from a bank that has not been paid off to date.

Not long after, Selena got out of the vehicle and locked it. The girl greeted several co-workers who passed her as she entered the building.

The atmosphere in the office is not too crowded, there are only five officers who are already there and busy joking. Selena headed to her desk and met Charlos who was filling out a report.

"The suspect, a strange red-eyed man who likes to kiss the neck and can climb like a monkey," said the man repeating what he wrote.

Selena looked down next to her partner so she could read along before the girl laughed amusedly. "No one will believe it."

"Well, I didn't add the words saved by a dog." Charlos closed the pen and looked up at Selena. "How's the dog?"

"Grant," Selena corrected. She sat down in her chair with a grin. "...well and happy."

"Has he been harassing you? We have to make an official report so we can arrest him," Charlos teased. The man glanced at his desk and fixed the frame containing a photo of a black-haired Mexican woman holding a tiny seven-month-old baby.

Unfortunately, Selena isn't interested in getting her pet dog into jail too soon. She decided to change the subject. "How is Charlos junior?"

"Fine, but not with the parents. The baby seems to be allergic to sleep, always waking up whenever we want to rest."

Serena chuckled. However, the girl secretly sighed in envy in her heart.

She also wants to start a family and have several children, but unfortunately, until now the girl has not found the right partner.

There was a moment of silence before Charlos looked around warily. He then leaned forward and whispered, "The homicide division is busy with the disappearance of several girls in the past three months. Two bodies have been found with stab wounds to the neck, but strangely the autopsy said they died from blood loss. They named it the vampire's case."

"They're just mythical figures to scare kids," Selena said, furrowing her brows. Since childhood, she hated that fictional character so much. She almost threw her television out of the house while watching a television show that featured a vampire-human romance.

Charles shrugged. "After last night, I'm not sure. It could be that the strange man is a vampire."

Selena snorted and pursed her lips. "Maybe we should bring a lot of garlic and throw it at the vampire the next time we meet."

Charles chuckled at his co-worker's joke. He got up to submit the report and left Selena for a moment.

The sky was still bright when Selena had finished her work. The girl is now in the pet shop and standing in a hallway on the right and left that has many special iron shelves to peddle goods for pet dogs.

Selena's brows almost knitted together as she surveyed the dozens of types of dog chains hanging there. She grabbed a large iron chain and felt its weight.

"So a chain is better to tie the body than the neck?" Selena asked, turning to look at the 25-year-old man wearing a pink T-shirt with the En Pet Shop logo on the back.

The man immediately agreed with Selena's words by replying, "That's right, Miss. Pulling the leash around the neck will suffocate the animal, although for large dogs it's better to use a neck chain."

Grant doesn't look savage, can even understand some commands, Selena mused.

The girl smiled widely and said in a steady tone. "Then I'd like this body chain, and I'll also need a collar, a place to eat and drink for the animals, and a bag of dog biscuits."

Happiness filled Selena's heart as she opened the house door. The girl dropped all the things she bought on the living room floor and shouted. "Grant! Come here! I have something for you!"

Grant suddenly woke up. In a half-drowsy state, he jumps down to fulfill his Luna's call.

"Grant! Here!" Selena smiled widely when she saw the creature descending from the second floor and walking towards it. "Look what I got for you!"

Grant's eyes widened in surprise when he saw a long chain swinging in Selena's hand. The girl then crouched down to pick up the necklace that had been set in gold with Grant's name on it.

"Here, let me put it around your neck," Selena said cheerfully.

Grant stepped back and growled in disapproval. Maybe his Luna was interested in trying some position that used a rope, as one of the scenes he'd just seen on television. However, he was not in the mood. He had been chained for a hundred years and he would not allow anyone to tie him up.

"Hey, you can't get out of the house if you don't wear ID," said Selena instantly. The girl gave a patronizing look to her pet dog.

Unfortunately, Grant instead snorted disdainfully. He can leave this house at any time and nothing can stop him.

"Grant! Come here!" Selena raised her voice while pointing at the floor directly in front of the girl.

Maybe it's time to change shape and drag her to bed, Grant thought irritably.

Like a tit for tat, Selena's emotions were also sparked. She had spent a lot of money and the dog did not appreciate all the things she had done. "Grant, come here!"

Oh, he will teach his Luna very well. Grant met Selena's fiery gaze before returning a low growl.

Selena stood up. She slightly bent her knees and then suddenly ran intending to catch the annoying creature. However, Grant easily dodged, his body reflex as an Alpha allows him to move swiftly and swiftly.

Grant's annoyance evaporated in an instant. His Luna wanted to play and he loved it.

Several times he let Selena almost catch him before Grant dodged suddenly causing the girl to fall to the ground.

"You suck!" Selena's roar filled the room.
