Igram could see the confusion on their faces, but as much as he wanted to see Erica out of his way, destroying her career was not worth it. His job was to take Richard Pickford's money, bankrupt him, and move on to the next victim.
Maybe if he bankrupted the fool, he wouldn't have all the money to continue whatever illegal activities he was into. At the end of the day, he would be the good guy and save the day.
