Brown quickly got into the room and interrupted the polygraph test. He ordered the independent assessor to leave and stitched off the machine.
"This test is over!" he ordered.
"No no no, why?" Erica got up, irritated.
"He is playing on your emotions," Brown replied.
With red watery eyes, Erica looked up at him and then at Pickford. It was the first time he acknowledged Melissa was in Hawaii and was in the same room with him. She did not care about the made-up story he was trying to fabricate or she wanted to know what happened that night.
"No, let him finish!" she yelled at Brown, trying to hook Pickford back onto the polygraph test.
Brown grabbed her by her hands and said, "You said I should intervene if you went overboard," he reminded her.
She pushed him off. "That was my sister... he has finally started talking," she cried out.
