Detective Michael slowly opened his heavy eyes with difficulty. His head hurt as if someone was throwing rocks at it. From the bleach scent, he could tell he was in the hospital. He opened his eyes wide, ignoring the pain as he remembered the crash.
Agent Brown had intentionally crashed the car. His first thought was that his boss wanted to kill him, which only meant he was part of the council. His mind began to panic as he tried to move his body, which was in a hell of a lot of pain.
But he avoided the pain and got up in a sitting position. If Brown worked for the council, then Erica was in danger. He needed to find her before he got to her.
The door opened and a nurse walked in with a tray of medicine. She smiled as she landed the tray hard on his lap.
He looked up at her, annoyed. Her carelessness only added more pain to his aching body.
"Are you blind?"
