Erica sat in the hallway waiting for her debrief. Her mind was still playing the picture of what she saw on the mayor's abdomen, over and over again. There was no way she hallucinated it. There was a hole in his stomach, a black hole with black stuff in it. It was unnatural, nothing like she had ever seen before.
Michael arrived at the center and immediately joined her. She got up and hugged him. She was shaking. It was the first time a criminal's death had her shaking and almost going insane trying to understand what exactly happened.
"Are you alright?"
"No, I am not. He was the only progress we made in finding Pickford and now he is dead," she replied with a hit of irritation in her voice.
"Calm down, what exactly happened?"
The two sat down as she explained exactly what happened, what she saw.
"Are you sure you saw a hole in his stomach?"
