As David Howlett returned from his venture to London, his mind brimmed with a mixture of satisfaction and resolve. The 'alliance' with Nathaniel Essex and the Hellfire Club had been solidified, each party committing to exchange resources, research, and knowledge that would propel the Howlett estate even further. And yet, as his ship sailed through the rough, frigid waters of the North Pacific, he found himself reflecting on the conversations with En Sabah Nur and the Hellfire Club. It was clear that powerful, ambitious figures existed everywhere. 'Control the world? As if something this trivial would fit as a proper goal for a transmigrator like me. If we don't reach out for the stars as a species then we're nothing more than barbarians.'
David stood on the deck, his sharp gaze fixed on the tumultuous waves stretching as far as the eye could see. He drew in a deep breath of salty air, letting the chill sharpen his senses. The landscape felt untouched, raw, and alive, a fitting metaphor for his own untamed ambitions. But there was something else in the air that day, something that made the hairs on the back of the sailor's neck prickle. David felt an immense, foreign presence, like a heartbeat echoing in the deep waters below, resonating with his own latent power.
One of the sailors on board looked to him with wide eyes. "Sir, do you feel that?" he asked, his voice quivering. David's eyes narrowed, his instincts alert. He held up a hand, signaling for silence, and focused on the sensation rippling through his mind as psionic energy discharged from within him out into the world. He detected an aura like a massive, primal force that pulsed with a raw, elemental energy. Whatever it was, it was big, powerful, and worst of all... it was very close.
The waves suddenly began to churn, rising higher and battering the ship's hull with enough force to send tremors through its wooden frame. David watched as something gargantuan broke the turbulent water surface. A monstrous creature, unlike anything he had ever seen, rising slowly out of the depths. Towering over the ship with serpentine grace, it moved with an air of majestic dominance. Its scales glistened darkly, tinted in shades of green and blue, reflecting light like polished metal. Eyes the size of shields bore down on the crew, intelligent and filled with an age-old wisdom, along with a rage that shook the air itself.
"A leviathan!" The sailors panicked for a few seconds before the captain's shouting echoed. "Prepare the harpoons! Man the canons! Don't let it get a grab onto the ship or we're all dead! Move your lazy asses! Move it! Move it! I'll throw you out myself if I see you cowering in a corner!" The sailors are still reeling but they instinctively moved as the captain kept shouting orders. They scurried across the deck to secure their positions. David on the other hand remained still, captivated by the sheer magnificence of the beast.
'Leviathan huh? Was there something like this in the movies? I don't recall any...' The creature was massive. Its body a length of coiled muscle, scales, and power stretched far beneath the ocean surface. This creature seemed almost supernatural, embodying an energy so vast and wild it seemed to ripple through David's own senses.
For David, the sight of the leviathan stirred a deep curiosity. He felt an inexplicable desire to connect with this creature, to understand it, perhaps even to tame it. He clenched his fists, his mind already strategizing as he looked up at the creature's face, his intense gaze meeting the creature's molten yellow eyes.
Reaching deep within himself, David projected his own psionic energy outward, letting it surge from his mind in an attempt to establish a connection with the leviathan. The creature's mind was vast, swirling with fragmented memories and emotions. It was like diving into a storm, but David's resolve was unyielding, his power unfazed by the beast's natural defenses.
The leviathan thrashed, waves crashing wildly around it as it sensed his probing mind. The sailors on the ship struggled to maintain their footing, gripping the rails and shouting for aid, but David paid them no heed. He focused all his energy on breaking through the creature's mental barriers, pushing harder as he felt resistance from the leviathan's primal instincts. It fought, resisting his intrusion with a strength that would have overpowered a lesser mind. But David was relentless.
"Yield," he commanded, his voice echoing within the creature's mind.
Gradually, the leviathan's mental defenses began to waver. David's presence filled its consciousness, pacifying the creature's rage and asserting dominance over its untamed spirit. He could feel its raw power flowing through his own mind like a torrent, threatening to overwhelm him, but he stood firm, his will unwavering. The creature's mighty form stilled, and its eyes softened, no longer filled with anger but with a strange, grudging respect.
With their psionic bond established, David could feel the leviathan's thoughts. All of its instincts, its memories, and its boundless strength. The connection was exhilarating, like holding the heart of a storm in the palm of his hand. An idea popped into his mind, it was nothing but a whim but now, he had more in mind for this creature than a mere pet.
David took a small, sleek vial from his belt, containing the techno-organic virus. Its silvery liquid swirled with a life of its own, reflecting a faint, metallic sheen under the dim light. The virus had the potential to integrate organic beings with machine-like enhancements, amplifying their abilities and granting them resilience beyond normal comprehension. Unlike the one he integrated on himself this virus has been tasked to collect biomass and data samples from the marine-life in the ocean. He believed that the combination between the Leviathan's body and the techno-organic virus would make this creature an unstoppable force under his command.
Using his telekinetic powers, David lifted a small amount of the virus from the vial and projected it toward the leviathan. The silvery substance floated through the air before settling onto the beast's scales, where it began to spread, embedding itself into the creature's flesh. David sensed the virus as it took root, merging with the leviathan's organic structure, rewriting its cells and initiating a transformation in accordance to his vision and purpose.
The leviathan roared, a sound that rumbled through the ocean and sky alike. The virus was rewriting its very essence, and the process was both painful and thrilling. David held firm, his bond with the leviathan allowing him to guide it through the transformation, assuring the creature's mind as it underwent this powerful change.
As the virus spread, David could see the creature's body adapting, shifting to accommodate its new enhancements. Metallic veins appeared beneath its scales, glowing faintly with an otherworldly energy. The beast's muscles seemed to strengthen and enlarge, its scales hardening into an almost armor-like density. Its eyes took on a sharper, more focused intensity, now tinted with a faint, mechanical sheen that mirrored David's own cold precision.
'Now that's a free, environment friendly submarine.'
David felt the effects of the transformation through their bond, a surge of raw, amplified power that coursed through the leviathan's form and extended into his own mind. He realized that he could direct the leviathan's movements, control its actions with a mere thought. The bond between them had evolved into something far greater, something akin to a fusion of minds and wills. It was as if the leviathan had become a part of him, as an extension of his own power.
For the first time since his departure from London, David allowed himself a smile. He could feel the magnitude of what he had created. A creature that he had only heard of in legends, now imbued with the power of modern technology and firmly under his command.
He extended his hand and spoke to the leviathan through their bond. "From this day forward, you serve the Howlett name," he declared. "You are a force of nature freed from the shackles of mortality, together, we shall forge a new era."
The leviathan's thoughts radiated a sense of understanding, a fierce loyalty that had grown from their shared experience. It was no longer a wild creature of the sea, but a weapon, a living vessel of David's vision of the future.
The ocean calmed as the leviathan sank back beneath the surface, now a silent sentinel awaiting David's command assisted in steering the damaged ship. As David returned to the ship, the crew watched in stunned silence, awe and fear in their eyes. They had just witnessed the impossible. 'The young lord subjugated a mythical beast so easily!' They thought, if they didn't see it for themselves, they wouldn't even believe such nonsense. But it happened right before their eyes and they would carry this legendary story back to the Howlett estate and beyond for the rest of their lives.
"How long till the damage is fixed?" David turned to Captain Cook as he asked. To which the man curtly answered with half an hour. David returned to his quarters, contemplating on the fragments of memories he saw in Leviathan's memories. The leviathan encountered many curious creatures like humanoid creatures living under the depths of the ocean, giant monsters, as well as vampiric creatures. With this discovery, he realized that a unified Earth will not only mean its land dwellers but also those who lived under the sea.
As the ship continued toward the Northwest Territories, David closed his eyes, meditating on the vision he had crafted for his family and his people. The techno-organic leviathan was a herald of the future he would bring. One where tradition yielded to innovation, where strength was not inherited but forged.
Weeks passed as he neared his homeland, David opened his eyes, a faint glint of satisfaction reflecting in them. For now, the leviathan swam alongside the ship, invisible beneath the dark waves but ever-present. David felt its presence in his mind, a steady, comforting pulse that reassured him.
When the shorelines of his homeland finally came into view, David knew he had returned not just as a lord or a leader but as a visionary with the power to reshape the world. And as his ship docked, he looked to the horizon with a fierce determination.
'Now go and do as I have arranged, its time for people to reassess who the seas truly belonged to.' David signaled the Captain and gave a mental command to the Leviathan, he then vanished from the ship like a ghost.
